Lu Han. The name bounced around in my head as I headed towards the parking garage to my car. He was a nice guy, very friendly and his Korean was not bad. He told us about how he asked his parents to study in Korea, and they had agreed. He stumbled over a word or two in Korean, but otherwise his speech was very good. Kris stayed silent nearly the whole time, except to discuss our project. But he was just like that anyways, at least all the times I had ever encountered him. I talked with Luhan the whole time since he was friendly and he was all alone in class. I knew the feeling and didn’t wish it upon anyone else. The instructor asked us to interview each other and we would present the results the next Friday. She gave us a list of questions we had to ask and answer in English. I was going to interview Luhan, Luhan would interview Kris, and Kris was going to interview me. I was hoping there wouldn’t be any real personal questions, and I hated lying. Fortunetly, there was nothing about our parents’ jobs and whatnot. I looked over at Kris and watched his reaction as he scanned the list of questions. His thick eyebrows furrowed and then relaxed as he put down the paper. We decided to work on it Monday, and Kris leaned back in his chair to nap while I talked with Luhan the remainder of the time.    Driving home, I noticed Luhan getting into a black car towards the entrance of the university. He wasn’t driving though. He was getting in the backseat. I noticed with interest, but figured that a lot of students here were well off and came from prominent families anyways. I also had more important things to worry about, like the announcement I was supposed to hear tonight concerning Kris. Before I left the class, he stared at me for a bit, his eyes conveying some meaning that I didn’t know, and left. I guess I’d see him tonight.    As soon as I stepped inside my house, Hye Jin, my maid, came up to me with an ice cold glass of lemonade. “Na Eun-ssi, your parents asked me to tell you to get ready for a dinner tonight. Your mom had me lay out some dresses she thought would be nice, but it’s up to you what you would like to wear.” she bowed and began to walk away. I wanted her to be at ease with me. “Hye Jin, would you mind helping me pick my dress? I need another girl’s opinion.” I smiled and beckoned her to follow me to my room. She shyly smiled and we walked into my closet. My closet was quite large. It had 6 walls, shaped like a hexagon. My dresses began on the wall directly to my right when I walked in, followed by my tops on the 2nd panel. The third side was a floor length mirror. The 4th panel, my bottoms: pants, skirts, etc., the last panel holding my shoes, handbags and purses. In the middle, there was a counter with drawers holding my accessories. Her eyes widened at the amount of clothes I had and quite honestly it was a bit embarrassing. I felt like I had too much, but I was appreciative of the things my parents gave me since they did work hard to provide a good life for my siblings and I.    On the counter were 5 dresses, with a note from my mom. “Pick one of these, or something similar. I’m trusting you to look presentable tonight. We’ll be picking you up at 7. Ga Eun and Cha Eun are with us, so you have the house to yourself. Love you, Mom”  I was glad my mom trusted me to make good decisions. She picked a lot of my clothes and I didn’t mind. Her fashion was modest, yet still very fun and presentable. However, I wasn’t feeling any of the dresses she chose. “Hye Jin, can you help me find a dress to wear? I’ll put these back since I think we can find something better.” and she shyly smiled then turned away to look through the dresses. I glanced at the clock as I put the last dress back, it was 4:30. We began sorting through the dress. Too short. Too gaudy. Too dressy. This isn’t prom… then, Hye Jin pulled out a black, sleeveless dress. I held it up to my body, and it came to right above my knees. The back dropped low a little, but the front didn’t show too much, but it wasn’t so conservative either. It had rhinestones around the waist, and the back of the dress was a little longer than the front, creating a train effect. “Thank you so much Hye Jin! This is perfect. Now for some shoes and accessories.” and I headed over to the other side of the closet. She found some black and silver heels. “How about these Na Eun ssi?” I looked at them, and quickly put back the ones I had originally taken. “Wow Hye Jin, you have a great eye.” I complimented her. We finished it off with a silver chain necklace with a diamond pendant, and silver bangles, with diamond earrings. I picked a white clutch, and transferred my things into it. It was 5:00.  I quickly showered, dressed, and did my own makeup. Not too light, not too dark.    Seven o’ clock came very quickly. Getting the final approval from Hye Jin who ended up exchanging my white clutch for a maroon one to match my nails, I saw the limousine waiting inside the gates. “Thank you Hye Jin so much for helping me. I really appreciated it a lot.” I thanked her. She smiled. “No problem, Mi-- Na Eun.”  I walked down the steps and entered the limousine only to see that it was empty. Just then, my phone vibrated and my mom texted me. She said there was a change of plans and I was to arrive alone. I closed my eyes as the car left the driveway.
