Runaway
Description
Sora's entire life had been spent hidden away in her uncle's attic. The cold musky air was all she was permitted to inhale. Floors creeking in the middle of the night became her lullaby. She knew that if she ever wanted to get out of there she'd have to do it soon. When the oppurtunity presented itself, she ranaway into the woods, where dangers far worse than her uncle's secrets lurked.
Foreword
I shoved the rest of my belongings into my backpack hurriedly. My uncle would be home any second. Opening the window I let the cold air bite at my face. Stepping forward I gathered my courage and jumped out of the window, tumbling down onto the ground I groaned picking leaves that broke my fall out of my brown hair. I leapt up scrambling for my backpack and threw it on. The lights of my uncle's sedan shone brightly signaling his arrival. I booked it for the fence and pushed myself over it hitting the ground with a thud. I got up again and weaved my way through the thick underbrush of the forest that kept my uncle's house unknown. The branches began to scratch my arms and tangle my hair. I continued on through the woods until the blisters on my feet started to bleed. Limping over to a large pine tree, I rested on the rough trunk, dozing off with a small warning in my mind to keep going.
