Lunchboxes and Nicknames

Make it Rain

Sunggyu’s oh so eventful break had finally come to an end. So he bid adieu to his mother, who still insisted he buy those damn bananas and send them to his sister before he leave. He reluctantly did, and only managed to return to his apartment after midnight.

He noticed all the lights were off, and figured his housemate must already be asleep. Sunggyu ate a quick snack then headed to bed himself. After all, he had class early the next morning.

$$

Sunggyu yawned as he strolled to the front gates of the school. It was lunch time and he was looking forward to grabbing something off campus, since he never really brings his own lunch anyways. He wasn’t much of a cook, and didn’t feel like waking up earlier just to prepare something for himself.

He was in the midst of unlocking his car door, when he heard a sneeze. He turned to see Woohyun walking up to him and sniffling.

“Just Woohyun?” Sunggyu gasped. “What’re you doing here?”

“Can you not call me that anymore?” Woohyun sighed.

“Don’t tell me the principal called on a stripper…that woman is really ridiculous—.”

“No, I came here to see you.” Woohyun held up the rather cutely wrapped lunch box he had with him. “Did you have lunch already?”

“Uh no…but how did you know I work here?” Sunggyu eyed him suspiciously.

“You said you were a teacher, didn’t you?”

“Yeah, but—.”

“Also I already drove past the other school in the area. I figured you were a high school teacher anyways. You don’t seem like you would be good with little kids.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Sunggyu frowned. “I’m great with kids!”

“Really?” Woohyun blinked. “Well I guess you shouldn’t judge a person…you hear that? You shouldn’t judge a person, because they may have their own reasons for doing whatever it is that they’re doing and—.”

Sunggyu groaned, rolling his eyes. “Did you come here just to give me a lecture?”

“No.”

“Then why—.”

“I made you this.” Woohyun the lunch box towards Sunggyu.

Sunggyu eyed the pink box suspiciously. “How do I know you didn’t put some drugs in there that’ll knock me out long enough for you to take me to your basement dungeon where you’ll lock me up for eternity and force me to be your slave?”

Woohyun blinked. “You sure have a colorful imagination.”

“It’s not my imagination!” Sunggyu exclaimed. “This is the stuff that’s happening in the news that’s affecting real people!”

“What…what news do you watch?” Woohyun arched an eyebrow. “Because I—.”

“Do you even watch the news?” Sunggyu snorted.

“Why? I can’t watch the news because I’m a stripper—!” Sunggyu gasped and clamped a hand over Woohyun’s mouth.

“Yah!” He hissed. “Don’t talk about that in front of a school!”

Woohyun shot Sunggyu an annoyed look and ripped his hand away.

“You’re ashamed of me…” He muttered.”

“What?” Sunggyu stared at him. “I don’t understand—.”

“Well that’s fine with me!” Woohyun huffed. “I don’t care what you think anyways! And I’m not giving this to you anymore!” He ripped open the cute lunchbox and began devouring its contents.

Sunggyu could only watch. He had no idea why Woohyun had come there for in the first place. He had no idea what Woohyun’s problem was either. Why did this odd guy keep following him around just to lecture him and yell at him? And the other day, when he kissed him…

Sunggyu thought he had seen it all with the badger person, but Woohyun was dangerously close to topping badger man with his strange behavior. He figured he should handle this, the same way he usually did when he encountered a borderline crazy person. Ignore them at all costs, and maybe they’ll go away.

So that’s what he attempted to do, and hastily got into his car.

“Where’re you going?” Woohyun asked with a mouth full of food.

Sunggyu ignored him and started up his car.

“Wait…” Woohyun pouted, pressing his hands to the closed window of the driver’s seat. “Don’t go…”

Sunggyu only glanced for a moment, but already regretted it. Woohyun was looking through the window, his cheeks full of food, and a confused almost heartbroken look in his eyes. He looked like a sad puppy from the pound.

Well lucky for Sunggyu, he didn’t like dogs.

He revved up the engine in an attempt to scare Woohyun away, but it didn’t work and the stripper merely remained where he was tapping lightly at the window.

Sunggyu sighed and rolled the window down. “Yah, back up or I’ll run over your toes.”

“Why are you leaving?”

“Because I only have fifteen minutes to get lunch!” Sunggyu snapped back, impatiently.

“Oh…can I come with you?” Woohyun blinked.

“No! Didn’t you just say you didn’t care about what I think?”

“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hang out.” Woohyun grinned.

Sunggyu narrowed his eyes at the younger man. “You…what’s wrong with you?”

“A lot of things.” Woohyun chuckled quietly.

Sunggyu frowned. “Why are you laughing about that?”

“I don’t know.” Woohyun shrugged, swinging his arms back and forth. Something about the way he was acting, reminded Sunggyu of his students. And his unconscious need to help and nurture kicked in, despite trying to fight it.

“Aish, fine.” Sunggyu sighed. “Tomorrow—.” Woohyun let out a disappointed sigh. “Fine, today! After school…we can uh…go to the movies or something.”

“Really?” Woohyun put a hand to his chest, as if he didn’t see this coming at all. “R-Really?”

Sunggyu rolled his eyes and reached out the window to push Woohyun back before putting the car in reverse and driving off.

$$

“I’m going on a date~” Woohyun sang as he waltzed into the living room, fresh out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Myungsoo looked up from the ramen he was slurping in the kitchen.

“Myungsoo, I have a date.”

“Oh.” Myungsoo nodded.

“What do you think I should wear?” Woohyun held up two outfits on hangers.

“You should wear black.” Myungsoo replied casually. “Ah, or nothing.”

“We’re going to the movies!” Woohyun exclaimed. “I can’t wear nothing!”

Myungsoo shrugged. “Not like anyone will see anyways…since it’s dark in there.”

$$

Woohyun decided not to follow Myungsoo’s amazing fashion advice, and went with a jacket over a v-neck with jeans.

He arrived at the theater first and eagerly waited outside near the ticket counter. It finally occurred to him that he and Sunggyu had never actually agreed on a time. Woohyun assumed after school meant four to five in the afternoon, so naturally he arrived at four-thirty.

Five minutes passed, and Woohyun was getting worried. What if Sunggyu forgot about him? Or worse…what if he decided he didn’t want to see him anymore?

Suddenly a cluster of giggling girls passed, and shot him flirtatious looks. He automatically put on a charming smile, and that only made the girls giggle more. But as soon as they left, his smile faded. His chest was aching, as his negative thoughts threatened to consume him.

Sunggyu never thought he was anything special anyways. And could he really blame him? Who would want to hang out with a lowly stripper? Sunggyu would probably rather hang out with his fancy teacher friends with their college degrees and what not.

He couldn’t help but smile bitterly at his own delusional stupidity.

“I should just go home…”

$$

I never told him a time…” Sunggyu thought as he parked his car in the movie parking lot, and got out. “Oh well...” He shrugged and headed for the front entrance. He looked around, but didn’t see Woohyun anywhere. He didn’t even have Woohyun’s number to call him. He pursed his lips attempting to scan the area for any sign of the younger man.

“Ah, you.”

“Hm?” He turned to see Myungsoo standing there, with another taller guy standing beside him.

“You’re that guy Woohyun hyung was going on a date with…”

Sunggyu made a face. “It’s not a date. We were just going to watch a movie—ah wait you’re that stripper! Myungsoo-sshi!”

Myungsoo nodded dumbly. “But why are you here? I thought you and Woohyun hyung were meeting at the theater across town?”

“What?” Sunggyu blinked.

“That’s where he told me he was going.” Myungsoo shrugged.

$$

“That idiot…” Sunggyu muttered as he hopped back in his car. It would take him almost half an hour to get all the way across town. He sighed. It was kind of his own fault for not specifying a time and place. “He’s probably not even there anymore…” But he thought he should go there just in case. He really couldn’t tell what Woohyun would do, judging from his previous unpredictable behavior.

When he finally reached the theater across town it was dark outside and couples were lining up to get their tickets, hoping to spend a quiet evening with the one they loved.

Sunggyu walked to the ticket counter outside the building, and looked around. He spotted a figure sitting on the dirty concrete, leaning against the building, holding his knees to his chest, and had his head down.

Is that him…?” He wondered as he cautiously approached the man. “Just Woohyun?”

The figure instantly raised his head. Apparently, it was an old man, from the wrinkly skin and lack of a front tooth.

“Leave me alone you damn ole geezer!” The old man bellowed, pointing a threatening finger at Sunggyu.

“Ah sorry.” Sunggyu immediately bowed and turned. But then paused when he realized he had just been called old by an old man. He immediately turned, shooting the old man a disappointed look. “Excuse me, but I’m a young man in the prime of my youth and—.”

“Leave me alone you damn ole geezer!” The old man repeated, except this time his attention was focused on a discarded paper cup on the ground that had been stepped on.

Sunggyu sighed, realizing it was a lost cause. He ran a hand through his hair as he shifted his gaze. “I guess…he left?” He was about to give up and leave, when he spotted Woohyun inside, at the snack counter, chatting up some girl, who really didn’t need to be wearing such a short skirt.

Sunggyu immediately stormed inside.

“Wait! You can’t go in there without a ticket!” An employee shrieked, but Sunggyu just ignored him.

“Yah!” He pointed a finger at Woohyun as he approached him.

Woohyun and the girl instantly turned to look at him.

“Y-You came!” Woohyun’s eyes were wide.

“And if I didn’t, you were going to find someone better?” Sunggyu snorted, gesturing to the girl. But now that he did get a good look, the girl was kind of attractive. Ok well she was more than just attractive. But before Sunggyu could think about that any further, Woohyun clutched onto his hand and was pulling him away. He dragged the older man into a dark practically empty theater that was in the middle of some horror movie.

“You came!” Woohyun practically tackled him onto the dirty floor, between the seats. Sunggyu could smell stale popcorn and feet, and it was not pleasant. “I can’t believe you came….”

“Why?” Sunggyu blinked. “Didn’t I say I would?”

“Yes…you did.” Even in the dark theater, Sunggyu could see Woohyun’s eyes sparkling.

He couldn’t help but smile slightly. “Why are you so happy about that?”

“Because!” Woohyun wrapped his arms around Sunggyu, burying his face into the older’s chest. “I just mmfggd.” His words were muffled by Sunggyu’s shirt.

“You what?”

Woohyun raised his head and smiled, before leaning in and pecking Sunggyu on the cheek. He quickly scurried off Sunggyu after that.

“What was that?” Sunggyu blinked, as he got to his feet.

“Nothing~” Woohyun hummed, before pulling Sunggyu out of the theater. “So what movie should we watch?”

$$

“That was the worst movie I’ve ever seen.” Sunggyu complained as he tossed his empty popcorn bucket into the trash can outside the theater.

“How much did you even see? I swear you fell asleep before it even started.” Woohyun grinned, hands in his pockets.

“I wasn’t asleep.” Sunggyu protested, as they stopped outside the theater building. There was a pause, and Woohyun shivered slightly from the rather cool breeze nipping through his thin t-shirt’s fabric. He pulled his jacket closer over his chest, and turned to Sunggyu.

“So what are we going to do now?”

“Well I don’t know about you,” Sunggyu shrugged. “But I’m going home. I have work early tomorrow.”

“Oh…” Woohyun frowned. “But don’t you want to eat something?” He glanced at his wrist as if there was a watch there. “It’s around dinner time.”

“Yeah, I’ll probably just eat some cup ramen and then—.”

“That’s not healthy.” Woohyun interrupted, grabbing onto Sunggyu’s arm. “C’mon. Let’s go eat something.”

“What are you? My dietician? I’ll eat what I want!” Sunggyu pulled away, but only after Woohyun had dragged the older to his car.

“Drive us to a restaurant.” Woohyun ordered, staring at Sunggyu expectantly.

Sunggyu snorted. “Yeah, I don’t think so. Now go home. Because that’s where I’m—hey what’re you doing?!” He shouted as Woohyun climbed into the passenger seat.

“Let’s go~” Woohyun put his feet up on the dashboard, already making himself comfortable in Sunggyu’s car, as if preparing for a long road trip.

$$

“Get out.” Sunggyu had stopped the car outside Woohyun’s house, fingers tapping impatiently on the steering wheel.

“What?” Woohyun looked out the window and pouted. “I thought we were going to your house.”

“Not you!” Sunggyu sighed. “Seriously, I have work tomorrow Just Woohyun…”

“Stop calling me that.” Woohyun frowned.

“Don’t want to.” Sunggyu shrugged defiantly.

“Fine…” Woohyun eyed him with a mysterious glint. “Then I’ll call you…Gyu!”

Sunggyu made a face and snorted. “As if you’d actually call me that in public.”

“You think I won’t?” Woohyun challenged, and rolled down the window. He breathed in before sticking his head out the window. “GYUPEN—!”

“Yah! Stop!” Sunggyu panicked, and pulled Woohyun back in, gripping tightly to his arm. “W-What’s wrong with you?!” Woohyun just laughed, as Sunggyu heaved a frustrated sigh.

“I’m a stripper.” Woohyun shrugged. “So, I guess I became pretty shameless as time went on.”

Sunggyu frowned. “Just call me hyung then.”

“Nah, I like Gyu better.” Woohyun decided, nonchalantly.

“Do you know how wrong that sounds?!”

“Only if you have a dirty mind~” Woohyun sang.

“No, not only if you have a dirty mind!” Sunggyu groaned. “It sounds wrong even to the innocent!”

“This was fun. Let’s hang out again tomorrow hyung.” Woohyun smiled.

“I’m busy this week.” Sunggyu lied, averting his eyes.

“Oh...” Woohyun looked so disappointed. As if he was a child who was just told he couldn’t have that one toy at the toy store.

“Well bye.” Sunggyu muttered, focusing his gaze on his lap.

“Ok, bye.” Woohyun murmured, quietly and had his hand on the door latch when Sunggyu cleared his throat.

“Uh…wait.”

“Hm?” Woohyun turned back around.

“Give me your phone.” Sunggyu held out his hand.

“Huh? Why?”

“N-Number…” Sunggyu mumbled awkwardly. “I’ll give it to you.”

Woohyun’s eyes lit up as he hurriedly got his phone out of his pocket. He watched with a stupid smile as Sunggyu entered in his number.

“There.” Sunggyu handed it back to him. “Now go.”

“Don’t you want mine hyung?” Woohyun asked with a bright smile.

“Why? I don’t want to talk to you on the phone.” Sunggyu replied, rather bluntly.

Woohyun’s smile faded in an instant. “W-Well who said I want to talk to you either—!”

“I-I’d rather talk in person.” Sunggyu interrupted, averting his eyes shyly.

“W-What?” Woohyun blinked.

“S-So just call me whenever…and if I feel like it, I might come…” Sunggyu mumbled, pulling at his sleeves.

“Hyung…” Woohyun stared at him with sparkling eyes.

“Yeah whatever. Now go.” Sunggyu waved a hand in dismissal.

“Like I thought!” Woohyun suddenly leaned over wrapping his arms around Sunggyu’s shoulders. “Gyu really is the best!”

“Don’t call me that!”

Look, I got a poster guys! Even though this is only going to be 5 chapters long. Why did I do that? OTL

The fail comedy pretty much died in the last chapter. The next 2 chapters aren't very funny at all. Sorry. =/

Also I was tempted to add some in the last chapter, but I can never decide on who will top/bottom so...probably no .
