Chanyeol's POV

 

I still don't understand why.

 

My mind was wandering off while I scrubbed the tiles in our bathroom

 

Why did noona chose to go with Luhan today?

 

Are they that close?

 

But I rarely see them talk with each other

 

There must be something behind this

 

Noona would always ask me first to accompany her outside especially during Sundays

 

It's like, a day for us siblings

 

Why did she ask Luhan instead?

 

Is noona replacing me already?!

 

Ahh really! I feel so dejected right now!

 

But maybe, what Suho-hyung told us was right and I do hope that it is

 

I heaved a deep sigh to calm myself and I recalled my conversation with Suho-hyung a while ago

 

 

Flashback (Chanyeol’s POV)

 

"I can't believe that both of you had to fight in front of Dara-noona! Wasn't it included in our rules that we shouldn't stress her out when she's at home?" Suho-hyung furiously stated.

 

Suho-hyung may always appear calm and quiet but once he gets angry, he is really scary and all of us fear him, maybe with the exemption of Kris-hyung.

 

I don't even want to think about it. Kris-hyung is like a totally different person once he gets angry. If Suho-hyung is already scary, then Kris-hyung is a lot scarier

 

Never underestimate the older dudes, as what Baekhyun always says

 

Now here we are me and Xiumin-hyung facing the wrath of one of the older dudes in the corner of my very own room

 

"Why aren't you two answering?!" he loudly exclaimed making both me and Xiumin-hyung flinch

 

"Ahh hyung... we know about it and we're really, really sorry! We would never do it again, right Chanyeol-ah?" Xiumin-hyung looked at me expectantly. His eyes were like telling me; just say the magic word already so we could be free!

 

I just gave him a small nod in response

 

"Suho-hyung! We’re really sorry! We would never fight again, especially in front of Dara-noona! We would always follow the rules and we— we would always uplift and respect the brotherhood that Exo had established” I dramatically said. I am known to be a smooth talker and it is really useful during times likes this

 

I looked at Xiumin-hyung and he secretly gave me a cheeky smile

 

I hope it works this time too, I prayed

 

We stared at Suho-hyung who had his eyes closed but his face still looked contorted showing that he was still mad

 

Xiumin-hyung and I can only hope that my sweet words would calm the older guy

 

Fortunately, it seemed to work as we saw hyung’s face relaxed

 

“Okay. You both better keep your promise. I don’t want to see you fighting over petty things again, got it?” he stated firmly but in a calmer manner

 

“Yes hyung! We promise!” both Xiumin-hyung and I exclaimed at the same time

 

Suho-hyung gave us his original charming smile. Phew, thank goodness he’s back to the gentle Suho-hyung, Xiumin-hyung and I sighed in relief

 

“But I’m really curious as well. Luhan and noona together is a weird combination” Suho-hyung stated as he sat on the edge of my bed.

 

“There’s got to be a reason behind their sudden trip to the grocery”

 

“I totally agree with you hyung! How could noona choose to be with Luhan on this day?! It should have been me with her today!” I exaggeratedly exclaimed as I vent out my frustration

 

“Calm your horses Chanyeol-ah! Noona must have just asked a favour from Lulu” Xiumin-hyung tried to calm me down

 

“But still! What favour could it be that she didn’t ask me instead?” I pouted

 

“Well, it could be the other way around Yeol-ah, Luhan may have asked noona for a favour” Suho-hyung calmly explained. “Remember the past few days? I learned that Luhan had asked all of us what gift suits Sehun the most” he added

 

“Yes! I remember telling him to get Sehun a cell phone since the kid still doesn’t have one!” Xiumin-hyung exclaimed

 

“Really, Xiumin-hyung! Why would you even suggest that? Luhan has no job and the only money that he will surely use is from his allowance! You should have given him a more practical suggestion!” I retorted

 

“What was your suggestion then?” he asked me

 

“I suggested that he get him a chocolate bar or treat him to a snack house. He could also bring him to—“

 

“Chanyeol, are you serious? You told him to do that? That’s the lamest suggestion I’ve ever heard!”

 

“Hey! I’m just trying to be practical. I believe that it’s better than giving him a cell phone when he doesn’t have a way to get enough money!”

 

“Tch. Then you think that a bar of chocolate is better? What would he tell Sehun then? That his love for him is as sweet as a chocolate bar? Aigoo, really funny!” Xiumin-hyung exclaimed as he laughed loudly

 

He’s really making me mad!

 

“Hyung, it’s not funny! Why are you always like this?! You’re older than me but your maturity is comparable of that of a pre-school student!” I angrily roared at him

 

“Mwo?! A pre-school student?! You’ve really done it now! Let me make your brain function right, Chanyeol!” he retorted as he made his way near me

 

“Bring it on hyung!” I said as I prepared myself for a fight

 

We were about to go on about it when we felt a dark aura near us making both of us stop

 

“So it seems to me that the two of you had not learned your lesson yet” Suho-hyung eerily stated. He was now standing in front of us with his arms over his chest

 

We gulped in fear. The animosity we felt a while ago was all gone for fear had replaced it

 

“To think that I just mentioned about these petty quarrels, you two are quite forgetful neh?” he calmly stated as he stared at us with dark eyes

 

We could only shake our heads. No sweet words can make us escape this one

 

“Hmmm... I was just actually wondering if Luhan had asked noona to help him get a gift for Sehun. It’s Sehun’s birthday this coming Friday after all” Suho-hyung suddenly explained

 

My face brightened up a bit. Oh yeah! It’s Sehunnie’s birthday next Friday! That must be the reason behind this! I unconsciously nodded my head

 

“You’re right hyung! How could we forget about Sehun-ah’s birthday?! Aigoo! Shouldn’t we be planning for a surprise for his birthday?” Xiumin-hyung beamed and I eagerly nodded

 

I know that we were both hoping that Suho-hyung would forget about his anger

 

“Of course I have thought of that already. I asked for Kris-hyung’s opinion about it and he told me that we will have a talk later” Suho-hyung responded

 

“But how about Sehun? How could we talk about it if Sehun is also in the house?” I asked

 

“Don’t worry about it. Hyung said that he’ll do something about it later” he replied calmly. “Better tell the others about it” he added

 

“Got it hyung!” we both said at the same time. We sighed in relief as we walked towards the door.

 

We thought that we had safely escaped hyung’s anger

 

But we were wrong

 

“I hope that both of you didn’t forget what you did today” we heard him say behind our back. We gulped in fear

 

“Both of you will receive a good amount of punishment and I’ll make sure that you’ll never forget about it” he lingered on

 

That made us shivered.

 

 

May we be strong enough to face the punishment that awaits us, I thought as Xiumin-hyung and I pitifully stared at each other

 

End of flashback

Baekhyun’s POV

 

I was about to head downstairs when I saw the bathroom door open across my room

 

Someone left the bathroom door open again, I thought as I walked towards it to close it

 

I was near when I heard noises coming inside

 

I peeked in to see what it was

 

I was surprised to see Chanyeol scrubbing the bathroom tiles roughly while murmuring the words, but she should have told me about it, and other incoherent words simultaneously

 

Is he still thinking about Luhan and noona?

 

I sighed. Chanyeol is really very possessive when it comes to Dara-noona. He tends to over react even with the smallest things

 

Ahh really! Why is my best friend like this?

 

“Chanyeol-ah! What’s wrong with you?! You’re scrubbing the floor too hard while chanting random words! Are you performing a ritual?” I asked him as I entered the bathroom. “Besides, I couldn’t believe that you took the initiative to clean. I mean, D.O and Lay are the ones cleaning most of the time” I added

 

“Don’t even start talking about it” He said as he stopped and stood. “This is Suho-hyung’s punishment for fighting earlier with Xiumin-hyung” he explained

 

“Whoa! Just cleaning?! Isn’t that too easy?” I ask, bewildered. Suho-hyung gives the craziest possible punishments and hearing that he only made Chanyeol and Xiumin-hyung clean was really surprising

 

“What’s easy with this?! He told us that we will be cleaning the house for one month every day!” he exploded. “He also said that if he sees any area in the house with a spec of dirt, he would reduce our allowance into half!” he exasperatingly stated “And no one from the boys is allowed to help us!”

 

Okay, never mind what I said about being easy. Suho-hyung is really terrible when he gets mad

 

“Aigoo, good luck then” I told him with no pun intended.

 

He only gave me a sharp glare in response

 

“Well thank you very much for wishing me luck” he said with his voice full of sarcasm

 

I chuckled

 

“But tell me Chanyeol-ah, are you still upset about noona?” I stopped chuckling and asked him seriously

 

He immediately frowned upon hearing my question

 

“I guess you are” I said

 

He just frowned more

 

“Baek, do you think I’m being childish?” he asked me

 

Yes, really

 

I didn’t answer him and he continued to speak

 

“I know I am, but, I just can’t help it!” he exclaimed as he stomped his foot. “I really love noona and I don’t want her to replace me with anybody else” he continued. What is he saying now? I thought as I stared at him

 

“What are you saying Chanyeol-ah? Replace you? You know that noona would never do that. You’re her real brother so you’ll always be number one” I tried to explain. “I don’t think that your jealousy is something that noona would appreciate” I added while shaking my head in disapproval

 

“I know! But it’s just… Recently, the other boys are doing what I am supposed to do for her and with her”

 

 “In what way?”

 

“Well, it’s not only about what happened today but for example, Kris-hyung would often times accompany noona to her work. When I tell her that I’ll go with her, she refuses me” he sadly explained.

 

I heaved a deep sigh. How could he say this about leader-hyung?

 

“Chan, you know that Kris-hyung only does that to make sure that noona will be safe. I know that you could protect her but we all know that hyung can do it better” I tried making him understand. “And noona refuses you to accompany her because she knows that you tend to over react to the smallest things that happen and you are highly to be involved in meaningless fights” I added. Just like what happened earlier between you and Xiumin-hyung

 

“I know that but still… arrggg! And those two maknaes, Sehun and Tao! They always act cute around noona and they hog her attention most of the time!” he exclaimed

 

Aigoo! Even the innocent maknaes?!

 

“Seriously, Chanyeol-ah! Even the maknaes?! You know that they are like that with everyone. They act sweeter and cuter towards noona because, first, she’s the only girl in this house and she’s like the mother figure for them, for all of us!” I exploded.

 

He only pouted more and his eyes showed how sad he was

 

I sighed. Baby brother issues

 

“Chanyeol-ah, I do believe that you know how everyone of us look up to and care for noona. Even if she wasn’t really supposed to work her off for all of us to survive, she still did because she believes that we are a family. We are not blood-related with her but she is doing her best for us. Don’t you think what Kris-hyung, Sehun, Tao and the others are doing for her just natural? Of course they would want to do something for noona too” I carefully explained as Chanyeol nodded his head slowly and looked away

 

I patted his shoulder

 

“Please understand this Chanyeol. We are only doing what we can to show how we appreciate and love Dara-noona. It’s not like we want to replace your spot on her heart. You know how much noona loves you right? All of the boys are really envious of you because you have a sister like Dara-noona” I added as I gave him a small smile and he smiled in return

 

“I understand, I won’t worry about useless things again. Thank you Baekhyun-ah! You’re really the best, best friend on earth!” he said as he gave me a hug

 

“No problem! Now, you should stop sulking and do your job well before Suho-hyung sees you murdering our bathroom tiles” I joked as I break off from his hug

 

“Arasso, I’ll be done before noona arrives. You know about our meeting later right?”

 

“Yes, D.O told me about it. We’ll gather at the living room when noona, Luhan and Kris-hyung arrives” I answered. “I think hyung will make Sehun pick up something from the other town to make him leave”

 

“Got it! See you later Baek!” Chanyeol beamed. It’s good that he’s back to his happy self

 

I just waved my hand at him and went downstairs

 

When I reached the living room, I was surprised when I saw a flustered Luhan, a panicking Dara-noona, a whining Sehun and amused Exo boys

 

“Dara-noona and Luhan-hyung! How could you leave me like that?! Why didn’t you bring me with you?!” Sehun whined as tears threatened to fall from his eyes

 

“But you were still asleep when we left” Luhan explained

 

“You could have wakened me up, hyung! How could you do this to me?!” Sehun was now crying

 

I shook my head. I was half-amused and half-worried

 

 

Baby brother issues, I murmured as I stared at how Dara-noona and Luhan tried to calm Sehun down
