Seungho’s heart almost stopped at the sight of the unconscious Mir.He ran to Mir’s side and held him.

‘Mir!Mir!Wake up!’

He tried to wake up Mir but to no avail.He touched Mir’s forehead.The boy was practically burning.Oh my God,what have I done?He frantically took out his phone and called Joon.

‘Joon,get your car at the bus stop near the house right now.’,Seungho’s voice trembled as he was calling Joon.

‘Hyung!What’s wrong?Did anything happened?’,Joon panicked,caught off guard by Seungho’s tone.

‘Mir fainted.I-I’ve tried to wake him up but he’s just not-Just hurry up,okay.’

‘What?How did he-Oh my God.I-I’ll be there as fast as I can.’

Seungho hung up the call and held Mir closer to him.Please,Mir.Please be okay...

Seungho,Byunghee and Joon sat outside of the emergency room.Sometimes,Joon would get up and pacing around the hall.Byunghee patted Seungho’shoulder,trying to comfort him although he,himself was not really feeling relaxed either.After almost an hour waiting,the doctor finally came out from the room.All of them jumped on their feet,wanting to know the condition of their maknae.

‘Which one of you are Mr. Mir’s guardian?’,the doctor asked.

‘All of us are.We are his brothers.’,Byunghee answered.

‘No parents?’,the doctor asked again.

‘Yes.’,Seungho hesitated a bit before answering.Remembering Eric.

‘Okay.So,your brother is stable for now but his fever is quite high that it’s quite worrisome.We’ve taken his blood sample just to be sure.He also going to have to stay in the ward.One of you need to sign a few documents.’,the doctor explained calmly.

All of them sighed a breath of relief.

Seungho,Byunghee and Joon walked into Mir’s ward quietly.The maknae still had not wake up yet.Seungho sat near Mir’s bed,watching the pale looking maknae.He sighed heavily.I’m sorry,Mir.

‘I’m pregnant,Seungho-yah.’

His mother’s word struck him like a thunder.

‘What?With that jerk’s child?’,Seungho raged,almost yelling at his mother.

‘Watch your language,Seungho-yah.Aren’t you supposed to be glad?You’re going to have another sibling.’,his mother said calmly but her face was clearly disappointed with Seungho’s reaction.

‘I don’t need another sibling.Especially the one with that jerk’s blood.’,Seungho said,clearly showing his hatred for her mother’s husband.

‘Seungho!This baby is innocent.Whatever his father had done had nothing to do with him.’,his mother said,slowly losing her patience with Seungho’s rude speech.

‘Yeah,right.Sometimes,things like this is in the blood.He is going to irresponsible,just like his bastard father.I want you to abort it!’,Seungho said,looking at his mother’s eyes.

His mother stood up and slapped him.Tears started to form in her eyes.

‘Really?I don’t think so because this kind of rudeness definitely doesn’t exist in my blood.Neither was your father.How easy for you to say that,huh?Abort it?Kill it?I understand if you hate Eric,but I definitely don’t understand where is this kind of behaviour come from.’,his mother said and walked out of his room.

‘Hyung!Look at him!Look at him!His eyes are so big.He looks like a girl.’,Seungho threw an annoyed look at Joon who was clearly excited at their new brother.

‘He looks a lot like you,omma.’,Byunghee said,smiling at their mother.

‘He does,right?I guess it’s because I wanted a girl,he turns out to look like me.’,their mother said while caressing her new son’s face.

‘What are we going to call him?’,Cheondung asked timidly,still feeling quite wary of the situation.

‘Mir.It’s pretty,right?’,their mother said excitedly.

‘That was quite weird.’,Byunghee commented.

‘It sounded like a name from a manhwa’s character.I don’t know you read manhwa,omma.’,Joon said,surprised.

‘Don’t you have another name,omma?,Cheondung asked.

‘What?Isn’t it pretty?And I don’t read manhwa,Joon-ah.I’m not like you guys.Anyway,Mir is final.Right,Mir-yah?’,their mother protested.

The boys was about to argue but then a nurse came in and asked them to wait outside.Seungho was about to follow his brothers but then his mother called him.

‘Nurse,can you wait for a while.I need to talk to my son.’

The nurse nodded and leave the room.Seungho sighed and sat down on the chair.

‘What is it?’,Seungho said lazily.

‘Yah!Is that how you’re supposed to talk to your mom?’,his mother said jokingly.

Seungho laughed and said,’Yes,ommeonim.Is there anything I can help you with,ommeonim?’

‘Now,that’s more like it.',his mother laughed too.

'Seungho-yah...’,his mother called his name softly.

Seungho looked at his mother.

‘Look at him.’,his mother asked him to look at the baby she was holding.

Seungho sighed.He knew his mother would have noticed that he was trying to avoid looking at the baby.He then slowly turned his gaze at his new brother.He have to admit that he was kind of mesmerized.He looked just like his mother from his big eyes to his cute nose,everything.

‘You’ve got to admit that he’s cute,right?’,his mother asked him while smiling brightly.

‘Well,he is.’,Seungho tried to sound nonchalant.

‘Owh,you’re smitten.’,his mother said with an exaggerated touched expression.

Seungho looked away,embarrassed.

‘He’s your brother,Seungho-yah.I want you to promise me that you will take a good care of him.And protect him.Don’t spoil him too much,though-but don’t neglect him either.’,Seungho laughed at his mother’s confusing speech.

‘What are you trying to say,omma?’

‘Well,you know what I mean.Promise me,okay.’,his mother said.

‘I get it.Take care of him just like you’ve took care of us.I promise.’,Seungho said.

‘Thank you.I love you,Seungho-yah.’,his mother said and hugged him.

‘I love you too,omma.’,Seungho hugged her back.

‘Tell Byunghee,Joon and Cheondung that I love them too.’

‘Okay,speaking of which,they must’ve been tired of waiting.I’ve got to go,omma.’his mother released her hug.Seungho could see that she was trying to hold back her tears but he just smiled at it.His mother sometimes get emotional without specific reason,anyway.Who would’ve known that it was the last time he would see his mother.

Seungho wiped his tears at the memories of their late mother.He looked around and saw that Byunghee and Joon already fell asleep on the sofa in the ward.He then looked at Mir and caressed his hair.The maknae’s temperature was still quite high.Seungho sighed.His mother was right.Mir does not resemble his father’s traits at all.He was far from being irresponsible or a jerk.But he have to admit that Mir definitely has some of their mother’s talent.Which has to be able to hide his pain so well.What a useless talent...

Seungho almost jumped when Mir moved a little.

‘Hyung...’,Mir called out in a hoarse voice.
