Tao goes through the letters, one by one as he tries to piece together what happened to the childhood friends he moved away from so many years ago. He reads first-hand how they dealt with everything; pain, joy, loneliness, friendship - and most disturbingly, death too early.
Foreword
This is my first attempt at KaiSoo, and was created mainly for three reasons; one, write something other than Krisyeol. Two, receive new inspiration for Krisyeol (I be idjit.) And three, to explore the epistolary genre.
Basically, an epistolary is a story told through letters.
It's a type of fiction I'm not too fond of reading myself, but I appreciate the literary depth it has when done properly. This particular story is inspired by Julia de Roubigné, an epistolary novel written during the 1770's. Which means the inspired form for this fanfic is old as , so please excuse the rather peculiar language used. |D
The fic will come across with many small chapters, and I suggest reading for plot and not literary quality or . Neither are particularly prominent.
The setting is purposefully ambiguous, but if you must have a context, think early 20th century western countries.
Also, I discovered, like everyone else, that it's a lot of fun torturing KaiSoo and their friends. This one won't be your typical slash story, obviously, but there will be plenty of OT12. Be aware that this is not the kind of universe where everyone and their dog are gay, so a few of the guys will be paired up with females (SNSD, mostly), but hopefully done in a way that won't bother KaiSoo and OT12 too much, because they're the ones I care about.
