Chapter 6

 

Your POV:

 

It had been days since the accident. I had just woken up and I saw the nurse walking in.

 

"Morning sweetie." She said brightly.

"Hi." I replied.

"How are you feeling?"

"Okay. My head hurts though."

"I have your painkillers right here."

She handed them to me with a cup of water.

"Thank you."

I took the pills and drunk the water.

"Do you know who that guy is?" I pointed towards the sleeping figure on the couch.

"I'm guessing that's your boyfriend. He's been here ever since your accident."

 

Boyfriend? Well, he is very cute. He looks almost like an angel. I thought to myself. Why can't I remember him? When the nurse was walking out, someone walked in. 

 

"Hey Mi Eun-ah. How do you feel?" A blonde haired guy asked.

"Who are you?"

He looked shocked.

"You don't remember me?"

"Ani."

"I'm Youngmin, your boyfriend."

I gave him a confused look.

"No, that guy is my boyfriend."

"My mistake, I'm your ex-boyfriend."

"Oh. Why are you here?"

"I was in the accident with you. My condition wasn't as serious as yours though."

"Oh. Why was I with you?"

"You called me because you and Jinyoung got in a fight. Then, I was going to take you somewhere special but the accident happened."

"I see."

 

Hmmm. So his name is Jinyoung. Why does that sound so familiar? I thought.

 

"Well, I gotta get some more tests done. I just came to check on you."

Youngmin got up to walk out.

"It was nice meeting you Youngmin."

 

He smiled at me but he looked sad at the same time. Jinyoung began to stir around on the couch then his eyes fluttered open.

 

"Oppa.." I called.

"Mi Eun-ah. You're awake?" He asked sitting up.

"Yeah."

"Do you remember me?"

"You're my boyfriend Jinyoung."

He looked shocked but then smiled.

"Yes, that's right."

"Oppa, do you mind telling me about our relationship?"

"No, not at all."

 

Jinyoung began to tell me about our childhood together and how we met in kindergarten. Then, he talked about how inseperable we were during our school years. I looked at him with interest and curiosity as he kept telling me stories.

 

"Tell me more oppa." I said while doing aegyo

"Arasso." He smiled.

 

God, that smile. Aigooo! So cute! I have the cutest boyfriend ever.

 

Jinyoung POV:

 

After telling Mi Eun stories about us, she asked me something.

 

"So we were best friends before we got together?"

"Neh."

"Wow. That's amazing."

"It is. I know more about you than anyone one else."

"Really?"

I nodded my head.

"You knew a lot about me too."

"Tell me something about myself."

"Well, I know you have a small star shaped birthmark on your lower back."

She looked at me wide-eyed.

"How do you know that?"

"While we were in 5th grade, we had tell the class something unique about ourselves. You told our class that you had that birthmark."

"Whoa, you're good."

I chuckled lightly.

"Tell me something else."

"You have been calling me Jinyoungie since we met and I call you jagiya."

"Doesn't jagiya mean baby?"

"Yeah, but I call you that because it fits you."

She giggled.

"You're so cheasy oppa."

"I know jagi."

 

Your POV:

 

"I know jagi."

 

I don't know why but when he called me that I felt all warm on the inside.

 

"So you have been here the whole time?"

"Yeah. I would only leave to go home and take showers but I never left your side."

"You haven't been to school?"

Jinyoung shook his head.

"You're a great boyfriend oppa."

He smiled.

 

As we were talking the doctor and nurse came in to check on me again.

 

"How are you feeling Mi Eun?" the doctor asked.

"I'm feeling pretty good." I responded.

"So I heard you have been forgetting certain people."

I nodded my head.

"You have selective memory loss. It's only temporary though."

"Do you know when she will be able to go home?"

"Tomorrow. Only if she is up to it."

"I should be up to it."

"Okay. Well, we'll leave you guys then." The nurse and doctor walked out.

 

Jinyoung POV:

 

I sat by the window and looked outside. I began to think about what has been going on, I spaced out so much that I couldn't hear Mi Eun's mom, her little brother and friends come in.

 

"Jinyoung-sshi!" Mrs. Park yelled.

"Neh eomoni?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm in the middle of thinking right now."

"Okay."

Mi Rae came over and sat by me.

"What's going through your mind oppa?"

"A lot of stuff Mi Rae."

"Like?"

"The accident, how Mi Eun has a selective memory and thinks I'm her boyfriend, not Youngmin."

"Isn't this what you wanted?"

"Yeah but not in this way." I sighed.

"It's going to be okay oppa." She patted my back.

 

Mi Eun's mom,brother and Mi Rae and Mi Jae left after staying for a couple hours. I sat by her bedside and held her hand. She began to smile a little.

 

"Jinyoungie."

"Yeh jagi?"

"Mianhae."

I gave her a confused look.

"For what?"

"The argument we had before my accident."

"Oh it's okay yeopu. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have acted like that."

"Gwenchana oppa."

 

Your POV:

 

Jinyoung laid his head in my lap and fell asleep shortly afterwards. I stared at his face, admiring his features. Have I ever told him I love him? I thought. 

 

I leaned down to kiss him on the forehead.

"Saranghae oppa." I whispered.
