“Oh that looks nice.” Jia said with a smile as Dongho showed her a picture of something she assumed was a flower. “You made that by yourself?” Dongho nodded as he flashed a big proud smile. He then put the picture back on the table and handed Jia a blank sheet of paper and his red paint. “Fun.” The boy shyly said as he looked up at Jia. Jia just smiled and nodded. “Let’s have fun then.” They both sat in concentration and painted their own picture. Jia struggled to get the picture too look like anything realistic, since she was horrible at painting and drawing. Dongho on the other hand was full of ideas and mixed colours and patterns. Jia chuckled as Dongho accidently splashed blue paint on his cheek. Jia got up to get a napkin to remove it. “It’s a good thing we covered the kitchen in plastic huh?” Dongho just giggled as he moved his cheek up for Jia to clean.

Suddenly Jia felt something wet hit her. Dongho had taken his paintbrush and made a blue heart on her cheek while smiling innocently. Jia’s eyes went wide as she just stood stunned and looked down to the younger boy. “Dongho!” Jia exclaimed while laughing. She took a bit of red paint on her finger and gently poked Dongho on the nose. Dongho made a cute pouty face as he moved the paintbrush to Jia’s nose. “Oh no you don’t” Jia took Dongho into her arms and started to tickle him. They were both laughing with paint on their faces when the front door opened and closed.

“What have you done to my son?” Soohyun shockingly asked as both Jia and Dongho stopped what they were doing and looked at each other with an -oh - expression. “We were just having fun.” Jia said as she ran her fingers through Dongho’s hair and smiled. “But did you have to have fun with paint?” Soohyun crossed his arms over his chest as he walked closer. Jia put Dongho down and told him to go to the bathroom. She then looked up at Soohyun. Soohyun gave her a stern look. “You better clean this up.” Soohyun pointed to the messy dinner table. “Don’t worry, I will.” Jia said as she flashed a smile. “But Dongho need to be cleaned first.” Soohyun nodded. “I’ll take care of that.” Jia nodded as she felt a little bit bad about everything. “Is he mad now?”

“How much did you play with him today? He is out like a light and it’s not even 8pm yet.” Jia smiled to herself. “Almost all day.” She simply said. Soohyun chuckled as he went over to Jia and wrapped his arms around her slim waist. Soohyun held Jia tight as he placed a kiss on her cheek. “Do you have any idea how cute you two looked when I walked in the kitchen?” Jia almost looked shocked. “I thought you were mad about the mess we made?” Soohyun flashed a bright smile. “You know I can’t stay made at you and Dongho for very long. Especially when my jagi-ya runs around in mini shorts.” Soohyun moved his hand under Jia’s chin and brought her face close to his. Jia felt her body heat up as Soohyun moved his free hand from her waist to her bottom. Soohyun gently captured Jia’s lips in a passionate kiss. Jia immediately melted into the kiss as she wrapped her arms around Soohyun’s neck. “I love you.” Soohyun gently whispered as he pulled away from the kiss and stared into Jia’s green eyes. Jia shyly returned his stare. “I love you too.”

“This weekend?” Jia asked as her and Soohyun sat down at the now clean dinner table. “Yeah my parents have been asking to see you.” Soohyun leaned back in his chair as he gave a small yawn. “Hmm… My publish meeting is tomorrow so I should have the weekend off.” Soohyun flashed a pleased smile. “Fantastic!” Jia flashed a breathtaking smile but that suddenly turned into a pout. “Oh no…” Soohyun said as he noticed her expression. “Yuna and Kevin are having a dinner party thing on Saturday. I promised to go since they had a big announcement.” Jia sounded disappointed. Soohyun just gently smiled and got up from his chair. “Don’t worry. Dongho and I will just go on our own then.” Soohyun pulled Jia to her feet. “I’ll just have to make sure I get enough of you before I have to miss you for an entire weekend.” Soohyun flashed a cheeky smile as Jia just giggled. Soohyun pressed their lips together in a hungry kiss, quickly sliding in his tongue and making Jia sigh in pleasure. Soohyun pulled away and looked into Jia’s caring eyes. “Not that I think I will ever get enough.” Jia blushed as Soohyun leaned down and lifted her up from the ground. “Ya.. Dongho is sleeping in the next room.” Soohyun smirked as he left a kiss on Jia’s cheek. “I’m pretty sure he won’t wake up this time.”

“Give them my best.” Jia said she hung up the phone before ringing the doorbell to Yuna’s family home. “Oh there you are!” Yuna exclaimed as she pulled Jia in for a tight hug. “Are you completely okay now?” Jia asked with worry in her voice as she saw Yuna walk awkwardly. “Of course I’m fine.” Yuna said with a smile. “I’m just a little sore from walking around the house all day.” Jia nodded as they walked towards the dinning room. “Wauw… I thought you only invited a few people.” Jia said as she scanned the room. There were about 20 people Jia had never seen before. “That was the plan but then I felt like making is big and fabulous.” Jia chuckled. “Well you do tend to choose fabulous over anything.” Yuna flashed a proud smile. “That’s also why I made a dress code.” Jia simply nodded and scanned the room for people she actually knew.

Jia walked towards the back of the room and settled down next to Jaeseop. Jaeseop looked up as a big smile started to show on his face. “What?” Jia asked as she looked at him with a confused look. “No Husband?” Jia frowned. “He’s not my husband.” Jaeseop chuckled as he leaned back on the couch they were sitting on. “You are closer to that then to girlfriend and boyfriend.” He simply said as Jia started to blush. “Don’t say stuff like that. It’s embarrassing.” Jia mumbled as she played with her hair. Jaeseop studied her profile as he smiled once again. “You look beautiful tonight.” Jia met Jaeseop’s kind eyes but quickly looked to the floor while saying a “thank you” under her breath. Jaeseop had always found her shyness cute. “Who bought you that dress? Light blue doesn’t seem to be your first choice of colour.” Jia kindly smiled. “Yuna did. She said I needed to look classy with a hint of y.” Jaeseop couldn’t help but laugh. “Well she did a good job then.” Jaeseop winked as Jia just looked away with a small blush showing on her cheeks.

“I guess since Soohyun isn’t here I’m going to be you dinner partner.” Jaeseop said with a small smile showing on his lips. Jia started to fittle with her earlobe, just as she did every time she got too nervous. “I guess so.” Jia said and looked up at Jaeseop. Jaeseop held out his arm and Jia tangled hers around it as she smiled. “This is so awkward.” Jaeseop just nodded as they both gave a small laugh and walked to their seats.

“May I have your attention?” Kevin asked with a smile as he and Yuna stood up from their seats. “We have a special announcement.” Yuna said while smiling like an idiot to her fiancé. “We are expecting.” The entire room let out gasps that turned into cheers of joy. “We have already decided on the godparent of the child.” Kevin said as he let his eyes wander through the room. “Jia Williams, would you be the godparent for our child?” Jia’s eyes went wide as she held her hand over . “Are you serious?” Kevin chuckled at Jia as he monitored for her to stand. “Yes! A 100% serious… Now will you just accept it?” Jia stood up with tears visible in her eyes. “Thank you!” Jia exclaimed as she walked over and embraced both Kevin and Yuna in a group hug. “You guys are the best!” Jia said as she was tearing even more up. “Aww Jia!” Kevin said as he took her hands in his. “We know you will do great.” Kevin smiled as he kissed Jia on the cheek. “Aigoo this is so great news!” Jia said as she hugged both Kevin and Yuna once again.

“That was a good evening.” Jaeseop said as he held the car door for Jia. “Yes.. I still can’t believe they want me as the good parent.” Jaeseop chuckled. “I can.. You are pretty much perfect for it.” Jia smiled as she got a proud feeling. “Oh by the way.. Thank you giving me a lift home, since the weather decided to act up.” Jaeseop sweetly smiled. “No problem. It’s the least I can do.” Jia just looked out of the window as she sighed. “It looks like the rain will continue for a while.” Jaeseop just nodded as they pulled up to Jia’s apartment building. “Here we are.” Jia smiled. “Thank you again Jaeseop.” Jaeseop just smiled as Jia got out. Jaeseop was about to drive off as his car shut down. “What the…” Jia turned around to see Jaeseop’s annoyed face through the car window. She quickly went to the car and asked what was wrong. “It died… I think. But it’s so late that I can’t get a mechanic and I don’t have money for a cap on me! Aish… This !” Jia bit her bottom lip. “You can spend the night here.” Jaeseop’s eyes went wide as he looked at Jia in disbelief. “Stop looking at me like that and get inside… Now, before I change my mind!” Jia said with a frown as she started to walk back towards the entrance.

“This will probably not fit you but it’s what I have.” Jia said as she handed Jaeseop a pair of grey sweatpants and a black oversized t-shirt. Jaeseop smirked as he took the clothing. “I seriously never thought I would live to see a day where you would ask me to sleep over.” Jia just glared at him and walked to her kitchen. “There is still plenty of time to throw you out.” Jia coldly said as she started to make tea. “Well we both know you are too kind to do that.” Jia made a cute pouty face. “You still look adorable when you pout.” Jaeseop kindly smiled at Jia, while she just avoided his eyes. “Green tea or lemon tea?” Jaeseop couldn’t help but chuckle at her way of ignoring his comment. “As cute as ever.” Jaeseop straighten his back as he started to walk towards the living room “Green.”

Jia put the two cups of tea down and sat next to Jaeseop on the couch. “You like it with honey, right?” Jia nervously asked, since she had already put it in without being sure if Jaeseop wanted it or not. Jaeseop’s lips turned into a big grin. “I can’t believe you’ve remembered that after so many years.” Jia sighed in relief. “I was afraid that I remembered wrongly.” Jaeseop’s grin grew bigger. “Do you also remember how much honey I want in it?” Jia flashed a small smile. “One and a half teaspoons. You should really start using less. All that sugar is not good for you.” Jaeseop just shrugged his shoulders. “Yolo, right?” Jia rolled her eyes. “It sounds so dump! Just because you only live once, does not mean you should be less careful with your body.” Jaeseop couldn’t help but laugh at Jia. “What? What I’m saying is true.” She smacked Jaeseop on the arm as he kept on laughing. “Stop laughing at me!” Jaeseop took a deep breath. “Sorry but you are just so… You. Your way thinking haven’t changed one bit since high school.” Jia tilted her head. “Really?” Jaeseop nodded as he took a sip of his tea. “But you’ve become way more mature since you met Soohyun and a lot more outgoing.” Jia looked to the sealing as she smiled. “Yeah… So many good things have happened lately. It’s starting to balance all the bad.” Jaeseop felt his heart ache. “Could she be talking about her family and me?”

“Jia I have a question.” Jia moved her head so she was now facing Jaeseop. “How do you think our relationship would be today if I had never changed into a jerk?” Jia’s eyes got big as slightly opened. “Uhm… Well…” Jia tapped her chin as a nervous expression showed on her face. “We would have been more than friends.” She slowly said. “After Kevin, you were my best friend. We could talk about anything. You got me to do stuff I never even thought about doing. I blindly trusted you. I was disappointed when you asked Eunah instead of me to be your date for the spring ball back when we were sophomores.” Jaeseop felt a smirk cover his lips. “So you did like me?” Jia smiled to herself. “Yes, I did like you.” Jaeseop frowned. “Ouch.” Jia looked to the floor. “Even though I’ve forgiven you, I still can’t seem to forget what you did to me.” Jaeseop looked at Jia with sad eyes. “I… I will never be able to make it up to you, no matter how much I want to. I’ve regretted everything since the first day I changed and…” Jia held up her hand, making Jaeseop stop talking. “Past is the past. I don’t want to hear any of it anymore. Let’s just concentrate on the present.” Jaeseop just nodded and took Jia’s hand into his. “You are pretty awesome Jia.” Jia slightly blushed as she wiggled her hand free. “I’m just glad you’ve changed into something better again.” They exchanged smiles as Jia stood up. “I’ll just go get the blankets and pillows for you.” Jaeseop made a pout. “Aww… I thought we were sharing your bed?” Jia just glared back at him. “In your dreams kitty.” Jaeseop flashed his catlike smirk as he locked eyes with Jia. “Oh don’t you worry, my dreams will be full of you.” Jia blushed as she quickly got the supplies for Jaeseop and disappeared into her bedroom, just barely saying a noticeable goodnight.
