Chapter 17: Midterms

`Next day

“Ryo!!” he turned his head backward and saw Jessica. He stopped and just stared blankly at her. “Good morning.”

“Good morning. Where’s Ellie?”

“At her class, why?”

“Nothing. I’m just curious because you two weren’t glued today.”

“She attended her class.”

“I see. So where are you heading to?”

“I don’t know, killing time?”

“Oh. I’ll accompany you.”

“Aw, you don’t have to. Ellie said she will pick me up, after her class.”

She became quiet.

“Ryo can I have your number?”

“For what?”

Again, she became quiet because of his sarcastic answered.

“So that we can text each other?” She grinned.

He just gave his number so that she won’t annoy him.

“I’ll call you.”

“Sure thing.” He said not focusing on her.

“Would you answer it?” He looked on her and nodded reluctantly.

“Thanks!” she exclaimed and hugged Ryo. “I have to go. I also have a class but I didn’t attend it just to see you. However, I hope I can make it in time. I’ll just drop off to your work, sometime. Bye.” She kissed Ryo’s cheeks again. He felt gauche every time she would do that.

After 30 minutes of waiting, Ellie finally came. They didn’t go to their work; they just stayed at Ellie’s place and ate dinner. She felt peculiar because of he’s quietness.
“Hey, are you alright? You haven’t talked all throughout the day.”

He didn’t answer.

“Ryo!” She poked him.

“Oi! What?”

“Did something happen?”

“No, nothing happened actually.”

“I can see it in your face.” She sighed heavily. “Tell me. What happened?”

“Can I ask you, one thing?”

She just nodded.

“Does a normal girl would kiss a guy even if they’re not in a relationship?”

“If you’re asking for my own opinion, I say it’s not normal. As always, people have their own opinion, maybe some of them would kiss just for fun.”

He didn’t say anything. She gasped and say, “did she?--- ”

“Yeah. Again.”

Ellie squealed. “Shouldn’t be a guy be happy about that? Cause a hot chick, kissed him?”

“She’s aggressive.”

She just laughed at his reaction.

The next following days kept them busy. For the reason that it’s already midterm’s week, as a part of their so called agree
