Weak. Without blood I am weak. I am pushed harshly towards the walls of the hallways. Weak. Without blood my body doesn’t want to listen to me anymore. My face is kissing the ground, the pain kicking in a few seconds later. I groan and try to get up. Someone’s foot makes a home in my stomach and I am thrown to my back. I cough and blood stains my school uniform. There’s a few curses going around, but I can’t concentrate on anything anymore. I am forced to stand but my legs can’t think on their own. I try to plead them to go away but nothing leaves my mouth. A few punches make their way towards my ribs, damaging them as much as a fist can. I can’t seem to breathe but before I pass out, I fall to the ground. I look up to see Kai’s fists in their faces, screaming something I couldn’t make out. I try to breathe but it really hurts. Kai comes towards me and lifts me up, pulling my body against his and rocking me. There’s someone else’s blood on Kai and I can smell it. Kai knows I need blood. He lifts his wrist and forces it onto my mouth, knowing my fangs would sink into anything with blood. I try my hardest to not give in, I try my hardest not to be a blood er. I hear Kai grunt and call me an idiot. I watch as he sinks his own fangs into his wrist and out his own blood. He presses his lips to mine, forcing mine to open so I will drink his blood. I try to push him away, but my body doesn’t want anything but blood. My eyes glow as the blood rushes through my body. I push Kai away as soon as my strength comes back to me, wiping the blood off of my lips. I hiss at Kai before running away, running far far away. I never asked to be this blood monster!

Kai sighed and his wrist, sealing up the wound. He watched as his skin healed up before picking up both Tao’s and his bag. He runs his fingers through his hair before letting a yell rip through his throat. Kai knew that Tao was suffering, but it had already been over 900 years since he’s changed! You’d ing think that he’d get over himself and drink some damn blood to at least not ing die! Kai hopped onto a bus, heading towards the cemetery. The only place Tao would go at a time like this would be there, staring at his own tombstone. It takes me 20 minutes to get there, hopping off the bus and towards Tao’s silhouette. He’s breathing hard, from running instead of taking the bus probably, tears also spilling down his cheeks.

“I should be dead Kai! Suho should have never saved me! I- I want to die Kai. I don’t want to be this, who I am anymore.” I screamed at Kai, covering my face with my hands.

“It ing happened Tao! It ing happened and you need to start fully accepting it. Stop with the mood swings and drink blood. You don’t even have to kill anyone, there are blood bags waiting at home for you. You are not human, you are a vampire! A blood creature! And you know what? So am I! I never asked for it to happen, but if it didn’t we wouldn’t be together. We wouldn’t have gone through so many years together and I certainly wouldn’t be there always saving your . You are the only person I have, and I to you. From the moment I turned, you were there for me. And I need you to be, so I can return the favor and be there for you. We are in this together, ok? You and me, Tao. There’s also Suho at home, trying to make it up with you after all of these years. And also Lay, cooking all of our favorite foods. Things have happened for a reason, and although we don’t know it, there’s a reason. So get up off your and stop crying. I heard Lay was cooking dim sum and I am not missing that because of you having a mental breakdown.” Kai pulled me into a hug before holding my hand out towards the bus station.

I chuckled and wiped my face with my sleeve. Kai ruffled my hair and ran away, knowing I would scold him. I smiled as I watched his back, running ahead.

Turning into a vampire had its ups and downs. And although I don’t think I’ll ever accept it, Kai is a good enough reason to stay alive.
