Epithelial Tissue
“Where were you?” I was dripping wet; my umbrella lay crippled on the concrete.
“Why don’t you have an umbrella?” It pissed me off that he had the nerve to avoid my question. It annoyed me even more that he couldn’t even look me in the eye, and dropped only to start fiddling with the discarded umbrella on the side road.
“It’s broken! Leave it!” I was yelling at Yongguk, and all because he refused to stop messing about with the broken umbrella. “Leave the ing umbrella alone! Where were you?” I whispered the last part, going into a diminuendo, scared of his answer.
He sighed “I got held up at work.” I looked him in the eye. Convinced he was lying I started to briskly walk away. His pupils told me he was lying; I could see it clear as day.
“Utter .” I muttered as I brushed passed him.
“Well what do you want me to say?!” He yelled after me, not bothering to even run after me.”You won’t even kiss me Junhong! What am I supposed to do?”
I couldn’t distinguish the rain from my tears. Both were salty, and unpleasant. The man I’d learnt to love was telling me he had the right to mess around because my heart couldn’t open up at a moment’s notice. He was telling me I was cold, and that I deserved to be treated that way.
I turned around and gave him the finger with both hands. “ you. you for making me wait out here for 4 hours in the pouring rain. you. I hope karma bites you in the . I hope you get a ing STD.” I turned back around and started to briskly walk home, before he could see me sniffling.
He didn’t come after me.
