Chapter 8

SME’s training room. EXO’s turn came right after Shinee. Onew cs. finished their training with the choreographer of their newest single ‘Sherlock’. Kai was behind, watching his best friend’s movement, Taemin, while mimicking some simple movements. Baekhyun and Chanyeol joined in, showing four dance points that were detective’s movement (taking photos, observing clues, finding the truth, and chasing culprit).

Sehun and Suho arrived with Kyungsoo who was getting back from the toilet.

“Sehun-ah!” called Kai. “Your face…”

“Sehun had been awake for the entire night,” snatched Suho, explaining the puffiness of Sehun’s face. The circle around the eyes became darker and Sehun held his yawn for many times all the way. Suho bet Sehun was willing to exchange anything for just one day off. “He’s really missing Mrs. Oh.”

“Ow…” Kai glared at Sehun. Asking the truth of the reason he used. Of course it was just an excuse, so Kai gave a slight grin. “Hyung, can I borrow Sehun for a second?”

Suho nodded. “Sure. Sehun is not mine or anything…”

Kai nudged Sehun’s shoulder away as far as he could from the training room so no one would hear their conversation. The emergency stairway was quite secure, seeing so many people passing by the corridor. Kai closed the door behind him before pushing Sehun against the wall.

“Yah!” yelled Sehun angrily. “Why would you—“

“Mrs. Oh will be sad if she knew that his son make her as an excuse about something else. You’re not missing your mom, right?”

“I-I’m always missing my mom,” protested Sehun.

“Not for last night, is it?” Kai leaned closer to Sehun and gripped his shoulder. His eyes pierced through searching for answer to his question. Sehun’s avoidance against Kai’s prying look had explained everything; it was just that Kai needed to know which part was the main answer. “Is there something I don’t know?”

“A-ani…”

“Sehun, you’re too easy to read. There is. Something. I. Don’t. Know. Right?”

Sehun kept Kai’s shoulder from inching closer than it already was. It made him nervous, didn’t know how to react.

“Sehun-ah?”

That was Luhan’s voice.
