Another Mystery Girl

When you were in Korea for your vacation, you wanted to stay and find a job so you could live there but because of what happened you decided to go back home and moved on. You set aside your dream of living there because you seriously want to forget that incident and him. You're happy that you still have your job that you really like which is to be a TIW. All the things that you do in that company is to translate the English documents and reports to Korean and vice versa. Some of your friends really think that your job is so boring but you didn't care at all because you love what you're doing.

After you arrived in your office there's a lot of pending documents that needs to be done. You really wondered why there's many documents on your desk. You checked it and you see that these documents are all about a certain project that will be held in Seoul. Most of the documents that you translated were from Korea that will be needed in your country. It's really unusual because for the first time it's the other way around. Your co-worker which is a Korean national caught your attention. "_______-ah! Park-sajangnim wants to see you in his office" She was really giddy when she said that to you. "What's with the smile and giddiness unnie?" You stared at him then go directly to your boss' room. Did I do something wrong?

You start thinking all the things that you've done since the day you were hired. You're really nervous because you have no idea what's the reason your boss wants to see you. You gather yourself up before opening the door.

"_____-ssi, You might be thinking why are you here, well, I choose you as the official interpreter of all the Korean representatives that will participate on the World Bank programme seminar in Seoul. Mr. Jim Youngkim *President of the Board of WB* is a good friend of mine, he asked me if I could help him to find a credible translator and since I'm in a linguistic business he rely on me in this matter. All of your co-translator wanted you for this project and I also know that you want this." Park-sajangnim fully explained. You were shocked about this surprising task for you.

"Thank you for trusting me on this very huge task Park-sajangnim. I will never let you down." you bowed multiple times because you're too happy. You already left your boss' room.

Suddenly mixed emotions runs all over you. You're proud because it's really your dream to be an interpreter of the UN, since World Bank is under UN you're very close to that dream. On the other hand, the seminar will be held in Seoul. You're coming back to Seoul.

Seoul is big for crying out loud. Stop being so paranoid and assuming. Even if he see you he will just ignore you or he will not even bother to remember you. Oh illusion, screw you. You preached yourself as you returned to your desk.

The seminar will be next week. It's a 3-day seminar but you need to be there first so you can meet the organizers. The seminar will be on Wednesday so you need to be there on Monday. You will just do your job during the time span of the seminar in the morning and after that you can relax and go wherever you want. As you read these, you find the job really easy and just leisure but there's one thing that keep you uncomfortable, the venue of the place. "Aish, How come World Bank will have it's seminar there? Their headquarters in Washington D.C. is much better venue." you said to yourself.

After reading the documents you turn on your computer to search about the upcoming seminar so you have a background on how to deal with these things. While browsing the internet, there's an email alert popped up in the screen. It's an email from a Korean friend you met on a skatepark near your place. She gave you your very first deck and one of your first skateboard instructors. Because of her, you pursue your skateboarding dream. She studied in your country before but after she graduated she went back to Korea. You definitely owe her a lot.

Yah! Dongsaeng! How are you? Don't you miss me? I can't visit you there even if I want too so I decided to tell you that you'll be the one who will visit me here. Understand? I miss you so muchie! I wonder you're better than me now when it comes to kickflips and stuffs Lemme see that and amaze me! I will wait for you! You're my successful protege, I can feel it. Love you! <3

You replied to her message right away. Noona is still the same. I became too cocky because of her influence. You call her noona instead of unnie because she demanded it. "Good thing I'll be there on monday! I have sk8 day to fill. yipee!".

Ya!!!!! Badass noona is still badass. Of course I freaking miss you. I'm dying to see you that's why next week I'm going there to amaze you with my new fully practiced tricks. Kwon Jiyong is very busy for his solo world tour and another upcoming album. He went back and forth to Japan so that he can monitor all the things that need to be settled and also help and support his co-member, Daesung's promotions there.

He always update his instagram and twitter when he have some free time. There are many random photos that Jiyong liked and posted in instagram even his best buddy Youngbae. They're too active in twitter that makes their fans spazz eveytime they tweeted things.

On that day, their friend Mina Kwon posted her neon pink deck's picture on instagram with a caption "Not too late to sk8". Since Mina's instagram is connected to her twitter, Youngbae liked that post and tweeted her.

@MINAKWON: @Realtaeyang yep, gonna go to Yongsan probably next week wanna come

@Realtaeyang: @MINAKWON you betcha noona! Hoping I'm not that busy so I can come. I have never been there before.

If Jiyong is in Korea, He will surely come with them but since he's in Japan now well, Youngbae is the only one will skate again. It's been a long time since Jiyong and Youngbae skate together because of their busy schedule.

You prepared your formal, business attire clothes together with the files and documents for the seminar and of course there's your tees, tight jeans, zooyork skate shoes and your yellow with bearbrick designed deck to complete your baggage. This is it.

Monday Afternoon

You arrived at the hotel where the seminar will be held. The breeze of the cold winter runs through your spine. You shivered. "How can I skate with this kind of weather?". After you enter to your hotel room you directly lay down on the soft cozy bed. You're tired and have some jetlag.

You woke up and it's already 8 pm. You didn't avoid yourself to reminisce that night when you decided to go to the club and met him there. You shake your head as if your thoughts will be erased. "I better call noona to have some warm up so I can test how to skate with this kind of freezing temperature." you whispered while dialing your noona's number.

"Noona! where u at?, I'm here already! I just slept the whole afternoon so I missed the chance to call you earlier."

"omg I didn't expect this early!, you really love me don't you?" She was shocked.

"Actually, I will attend some seminar that's why I'm here in the first place." you with your reason.

"Yah you bad girl! how could you say that to me? aigooooo aigoooo" Minhee starting to imitate a voice of an emotional ahjumma.

"Aish, of course you're one of the reason why I'm here early so stop that!" you cooed her.

"Dongsaeng, I'll let you rest tonight. Let's meet tomorrow at Yongsan neh? Tomorrow I will introduce you to my friend who skates too! Like you, It's been a long time since she skate." Minhee said to you.

You're very excited as you conditioned your deck. You decided to wear a thick white hoodie, tight jeans with a grey beannie and matched up with your green zooyork shoes. As usual, simple get up for you because there's nothing new about that.

Since your hotel is not that far from Yongsan district you decided to run with your deck and didn't even bother to ride on a bus or cab. While heading to Yongsan, you do some ollie, and other simple tricks for warm up. You think that Minhee's friends there are professionals so you have to be atleast more prepared in case they dare you to play the "Game of S-K-A-T-E".

Upon your arrival you only see your noona together with a petite woman who also have the same attire like you and Minhee and a man with a baggy pants with oversized hoodie,braided hair and bandana on his forhead.. Since it's already evening, there are few skaters who have separate agendas. Your deck took its break on Minhee's side as you approach them.

"Noona!!!!!" you greeted her then hugged her tight. You didn't even remember that she have her friends with her.

"Yah, stop! let's do this when we're alone okay? oh, by the way, I like you to meet my skate buddies." Minhee said to you.

You bowed without even looking at their faces. After you bowed you were astonished on what you see.

"_________, this is Mina and Youngbae. I'm sure you know them!" Minhee introduced her skate buddies to you.

"oh, Hello Mina-ssi, Youngbae-ssi! I'm __________. Nice to finally meet you both!" at last you finally uttered some words.

"Hi __________ ! Minhee said so many things about you!" Mina said as she smiled at you. "oh really haha? good things or bad things?" you asked her and stare back at Minhee. "Hmmm,as far as I remember, they're good things" you all laughed at unison.

"Looks like I'm not forever alone tonight because I have my gals with me" Youngbae said and winked at them.

You became so nervous when you saw Youngbae but it suddenly vanished when you heard the news that Jiyong is not in Korea right now. You don't want your mind to be infiltrated by unecessary thoughts so you just enjoy the night and skate til you drop.

"How about we play the Game of S-K-A-T-E?" Minhee suggested. Mina and Youngbae stared at each other then stared at you.

"Sure let's get it on!" Youngbae said while dancing his signature dance.

"That will be dope!" Mina seconded.

You ended up agreeing with Minhee's suggestion.

You guys decided that you'll play it by team. Minhee and You versus Mina and Youngbae.

The mechanics of the game is basic and usually depend on the player's perception. One player sets a trick by doing a particular skateboarding trick of their choice. If the trick is not landed, another player attempts to set a trick. Once a trick has been set, the other player/s must respond by doing the same trick in their first try. No trick may be set more than once by the same person.

If the player/s is unsuccessful, then they will receive a letter. For each unsuccessful match, the player receives an "S", "K", "A", "T" or "E" (Depending on how many tricks they fail to land, respectively). Once a player receives an "E", they are administered one last try, or "rebate". If the defensive skateboarder does not land the rebated trick, he/she loses the game.

The last man standing is declared the winner & if they themselves did not receive a letter, then they are said to have "blanked" their opponent. When "Skater B" does not have the opportunity to set a single trick & does not match a single trick, "Skater A" is said to have committed a "Perfect Whitewash". *Thanks to Wikipedia*

Team A is Minhee and you while Mina and Youngbae is the Team B. Minhee will be the first one to execute her trick which is the kickflip. Mina do the kickflip and she succeeded. You are the next one who will give another trick. You decided to do the backside kickflip. Youngbae didn't make it because he went out of balance. The game went interesting as the two teams really focused and give all their bests even it was just for fun. At the end of the game, Minhee and You won.

"Woooah! Nice game! we should have a rematch so that we can win!" Youngbae said while panting. Mina nods to what Youngbae said. "the whole game is doper than I expected. We should do this again next time when Youngbae have his busy schedule." Mina added to tease Youngbae. "Yah Noona! you're mean!" Youngbae responded.

All of you are tired so before going home you decided to freshen up and relaxed first. "Oh since tonight is really a very good night, would you mind if we could take photos together?" Youngbae said to you and Minhee. "Yup, I will be the one to take it Bae!" Mina automatically volunteered. She's not used to be in a group photo unless she will cover her face with her hand or anything like what she do on her selcas. "Unnie, we can hide the half of our face with our deck or towelette. Don't be so shy!" You tried to convince her. "Yup, come on dude! don't be a Schnitzel!" Minhee also tried to convince Mina. "Okay okay! shut up people!" Mina finally agreed.

Youngbae called a random skater guy to take their picture. Youngbae have his tongue-out pose, beside him is Minhee with her wink and peace sign then you covering your mouth or the half of your face with your black skull towelette and Mina exposed her deck on her front. She didn't let her face to be covered this time. Mina also took their pictures on her phone.

"Hey, what's this? I thought Mina-noona will cover her face but it was you! Mina-noona is too proud for her deck." Youngbae reacted after he saw the picture.

You really planned to cover your face because you're sure that Youngbae will upload this on instagram and whether you like it or not, Jiyong will see that. You're confident with that skull towelette in your face. "That's okay Youngbae-ssi, I looked like a badass gangsta there. haha" you said.

"Well, let's call it a night! Thank you guys! For sure we'll see you next time!" Minhee concluded. They bid their goodbyes to each other. "Oh by the way __________-ssi, do you have your twitter or instagram? Me and noona will follow you!" Youngbae asked you. "I used to have before but now I forgot my password." you lied. "You should make another one then tell us if ever. ayt?" Mina added. "Sure sure, I'll just mention you guys if ever!" you lied again. How can I be so assuming? the hell he care? you're starting to be so assuming again. You didn't want to think that way but still you became so paranoid.

Youngbae posted the picture on his instagram with a caption "long time no Sk8, long time to have new friends!". After Youngbae posted it, the picture made it to be on the popular post. After that, Mina also posted the other shots of them on the skatepark. Mina and Youngbae had some short conversation about you.

While scrolling his timeline, Jiyong saw Youngbae and Mina's conversations and he was very curious and so envious because he also miss to skate. Jiyong decided to DM Youngbae.

Jiyong is really excited to meet the girl and beat her. He wants to show Youngbae that he's unbeatable. If that girl defeated Youngbae, that's never going to happen with him. He's really curious about that girl. Another mystery girl that he needs to meet, deal, and resolve.
