The only people that know about Amber’s gender are her fellow knights she has chosen to protect the princess with her, Victoria, and the King and Queen. With Krystal still believes that Amber’s a man and she feels awkward when she learns Amber was going to guard her 24/7. She learns about it in the most awkward manner. The day after Krystal’s birthday Amber was there when the maids were waking up Krystal. Her hair was unlike many other days today she have a really bad bed hair that day.

“Princess your hair.” Said one of the maids, attempting to tell Krystal about her messy hair.

Krystal didn’t pay much attention to her hair in the morning. “I know. I need to get ready.” When she got off her bed to head to her on suite bathroom, Krystal found Amber standing beside her bedroom entrance in place of her head maid Victoria. “Amber.” Krystal quickly runs back into her bed sheets hiding herself from Amber. “What are you doing here?”

“It’s time for you to get ready for the day princess.” Amber said not realizing Krystal was embarrassed to see her.

“Where’s Ms. Song?”

“She needed to go somewhere so I’m filling in for her.”

“Get out. I need you to get out.” Krystal said throwing pillows at Amber.

“Sorry princess. I forgot.” Amber left Krystal’s bedroom to wait outside or her door.

Krystal couldn’t help it but her heart kept racing to the fact that Amber saw her unkempt self so early in the morning.

“Princess, are you alright?” Said one of the worried maids.

“Is he gone?” Krystal said.

“No, he’s just outside of your room waiting for you to get ready.”

She places her hands over her heart as an attempt to calm her racing heart. “I can’t believe you allowed him to be here to see me like that.”

The maids brushes Krystal’s hair and prepares her bath. “He’s supposes to be your personal bodyguard and a little bit of a butler too.” The maid pauses to look at Krystal expression before continuing, “Are you happy?”

“I’m embarrassed actually.” Her face grew flush red. “What did he think of me when he saw me looking hideous?”

“You are not hideous princess. Even with a slightly out of place hair style you got from bed will not overshadow the fact that you are beautiful beyond words.”

“That still doesn’t erase the fact that he saw me.”

“If that knight likes you then it shouldn’t be for your looks princess.” Said another maid before announcing the bath is ready.

In deep thoughts Krystal said to her maids, “Please make me extra pretty today. Give me a lot of makeup.”

“But princess!” The maids complains knowing too much makeup isn’t the key to Krystal’s beauty.

“No buts. I want to look pretty.”

An hour later Krystal came out of her room still embarrass about what had happen the hour before. Fully dressed with a heavy layer of makeup on her face, she was in fact too over dress for breakfast. Her maids follow behind Krystal with a serious face struggling to keep themselves from smiling. When Amber saw the scene of Krystal walking out of her room she couldn’t help but want to laugh but held it in as hard as she can.

“Sorry princess for my rudeness today.” Amber said with a smile different from her usual as she struggles to keep a straight face. “I’ve prepared your breakfast in the breakfast hall with your favorite foods.”

Krystal couldn’t help but notice Amber’s smile is different from the one she saw yesterday. Today it had more emotions to it. “Lead the way.”

Everyone did their best to keep a straight face. A few of the maids passing by in the hallway burst into laughter all of a sudden after Krystal have walked passed them. Krystal couldn’t understand why everyone is acting so strange that morning.

While eating Krystal ask Amber, “Is Victoria still going to give me my dance lesson?”

“Yes. Ms. Song will be back by then.” Amber answers.

“Can you answer me something honestly?”

“Yes princess.”

“Do I look beautiful?”

“Of course princess, you are always beautiful.”

At nine Krystal met Victoria in the ball room for her usual dance lessons after she have changed clothing. The shock look on Victoria’s face alarms Krystal. “What happened Ms. Song?”

“What kind of joke is this maids?” Victoria said angrily looking at the maids.

“Ms. Song, what are you talking about? What happened?”

“What did they do to-” Victoria’s sentence was cut short when the maids give Victoria hands signals behind Krystal who has her back turns to the maids and is facing Victoria. They signal to Victoria not to say anything. Looking at Amber for some answer she just shrugs.

Krystal turns behind her only to find nothing out of place. “Why is everyone acting so strange today?”

“Have you seen yourself in the mirror today princess?” Victoria said searching for answers.

“No why? Tell me what’s wrong?” Then it hit her. “Give me a mirror.”

Victoria signals the maids to take Krystal away to fix her up. For the rest of the day Krystal wouldn’t get out of her room and she wouldn’t let Amber see her. A new rule have been set for Amber to not enter the princess room unless it was an emergency. For days Krystal couldn’t even look at Amber straight in the eyes.

It’s been nearly a week, Amber has been busy with bodyguard work and Krystal has been distracted keeping her eyes on Amber. After dinner Krystal headed to do some readings and Amber was to tag along no matter where Krystal goes. Reading in the spacious and beautiful castle library, Krystal sat in the middle of the library after she has chosen her choice of books to read. The room is well lit with thousands of candle chandelier. Behind the piles of books Krystal keep peaking from behind the book she is reading to glance at Amber. Every time Amber look her way, Krystal would continue reading hoping Amber didn’t catch her glance at Amber.

I feel so nervous every time I’m around him. I can’t help but feel excited with him nearby. Krystal peeks behind her book and there her eyes met Amber’s. She quickly retreats her eyes behind her book. Amber didn’t see me, did he? She can feel her heart racing.

Not realizing what Krystal is feeling Amber said, “Are you feeling alright princess?”

“I’m fine. Do you need to glance at me that much?”

“I’m sorry.” Amber said as she bows down on one knee. “I thought you wanted to ask me something. Sorry for the accusation. I won’t do it again.”

To Amber surprise Krystal replies shyly, “It doesn’t matter. Do what you want?”

“As you say princess.” Amber said as she stood back up nodding in obedience to Krystal’s words.

Krystal smiles behinds her book. When she glances at Amber again she stares at Amber lovely. Look at his perfectly shape jaw line. He looks good at any angle. I especially love the way his hair falls on his cheeks and neck. Before Krystal realizes it, she was standing in front of Amber staring straight into Amber’s eyes.

“Yes.” Amber said not knowing what her course of action should be. “What’s the matter princess?”

When Krystal hears Amber’s voice she snaps out of her daze only to realizing she is standing closely in front of Amber. Krystal backs away trying not to look awkward in her action she stood her ground and stuck her index finger into Amber chest poking her saying, “I don’t like how messy your hair looks. You should tie it up.” Turning around to hide her expression and emotions running through her veins Krystal says, “I want you to look more appealing around me.”

Not sure about exactly what Krystal meant by her words Amber replies, “Understood.”

Krystal went back to her seat and the two maids came in as if on cue to give her tea. When the maids walk past Amber they giggle happily. Amber couldn’t imagine what they would be laughing about.

When they head back to Krystal’s room, she trips on the staircase falling into Amber’s arm. There she realizes how slim Amber is build but is strong despite his size. Everyone gasp at the sight of Krystal tripping, even Amber join in with the maids worry for the princess’s safety.

“Princess, are you alright?”

Slowly looking up at Amber, Krystal said, “I’m fine.” They continue walking down the stairs and head to Krystal’s bedroom. From there Amber left to her room just a few doors away from Krystal’s. The maids help Krystal change into her sleeping clothes and let her spend the rest of the night to herself and would only come if Krystal asks for them.

 Walking out to the balcony to watch the stars, Krystal looks for the stars looking for a shooting star to grant her a wish. There she found her shooting star she said, “I wish I may, I wish I might, have my one wish come true tonight. I wish Amber would see me more than a princess, I want Amber to fall head over heels for me.” She closes her eyes and hands clasping onto each other just barely touching her lips.

Krystal has already forgotten Victoria’s warning about a princess falling for a knight. Saying that love between a knight and a princess will never come true and that it is only a tale of tragedy. Even for royalties love never comes before their people because their choices and mistake affects millions of people not just those few individuals who know the personal life of royalties.

From the Author: Writing this story is more difficult than I expected. I still need to think of more happy scenes with Krystal and Amber before the sad scenes comes in. There needs to be more kryber scenes.
