Present Perfect Tense
Making Mistakes the Right Way {a writing tip thread}W-O-W! Thanks so much guys for responding to last chapter! You guys are all so amazing. ♥ I'm so sorry I couldn't publish a new chapter because I've really been caught up with school. Things are starting to wind down, but it's extremely important for me to keep up my grades, so I hope you guys understand. Anyway, cherzific requested for me to cover this topic, but I'm not the best explainer at tenses. It naturally comes to me when I write, but I can't really explain things. Thus, please understand if I made any mistakes. Thank you. ♥
So let's get this clear. In the English language the main three tenses are: past, present, and future. Of course, there's also another category which goes by the name "perfect." Underneath perfect, there is present perfect, past perfect, and future perfect. Perfect tenses, as defined by this website, shows an action ALREADY completed. Perfect tenses use "to have" in their sentences.
EXAMPLE:
I have seen it. (Present Perfect)
I had seen it. (Past Perfect)
I will have seen it. (Future Perfect)
Am I confusing you guys? If so, I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart. I'm still learning things so please understand my situation! ^^ If you want to see a better explaination, click this. Other than that, do you guys have any other topics you want me to cover? I responded to all of you thus far, so keep the responses coming! (:
Also, my prayers go out to those in the Boston Marathon, the Texas explosion, and the China earthquake. This week has been a mess for everybody. ♥ I am very thankful for what I have. I'll post another chapter later today, so keep an eye out for it!
