NOTE TO SELF: Sometimes violence isn't the answer
Superiority Complex
"Oh my God Lay, what happened to your face?" Chanyeol asks as Lay renters the room.
"What?"
I turn around quickly, my mathematics homework quote forgotten.
"Lay?"
I rush over to him, running my fingers over his jawline.
"What happened?" I ask in horror.
"Kris happened."
"Oh my God, are you alright?" I screech.
"What happened? Why? Lay, please speak to me!" I start panicking.
"Shh..." Lay hushed me.
"It's alright, Tao."
I shake my head at him.
"It's not alright."
I lead him over to the bed and sit him down, running down the hallway to the nurse's office.
Kris just watches from his doorway as things unfold.
I return a few minutes later with a box of tissues and an ice pack.
I ignore Kris as I slam the door behind me.
I press the ice pack gently to Lay's face, using my tissues to wipe away what little blood I can.
It's going to get ugly.
Lay's jaw is going to balloon and go a weird blue-green colour.
Why did Kris do this?
Or maybe he's just trying to get back at me?
It seems logical. Taking it out on someone close to you.
Kris taps on the door, and I open it, glaring.
"Why?" Is all I can say, repeatedly.
"Why?"
It's as if I'm asking not just about his treatment of Lay, but his treatment of me as well.
"Why? Why are you like this?"
I almost punch him.
Almost.
I don't want to lower myself down to his level.
"Why?"
He looks like he has something to say.
But I don't have the time for his explanations.
Not yet.
Once again, I find myself slamming the door in his face.
He doesn't know what he's got coming to him.
