(STILL) SUNGMIN POV

I took one last step before I put my food tray on his table and sat in front of him. He stopped his chopstick in the air as he lifts his head to look at me. I tried to ignore the icy cold stare he give to me and smile warmly at him, “hello,” I greeted him cheerfully,

“What do you want?” he asked me the same question with the earlier. This time however, I felt more prepared for his effect on my brain, so I smile widely to him, ignoring my heart that almost jumped out from my chest because of my nervousness,

“I can’t find another place to eat, as you see, all table is full,” I said to him cheerfully. He look at me suspiciously and held his gaze on me for a while before twitching his eyebrow and continued eating his food, totally ignore me. It surprise me a little tough. Honestly, I thought he’ll kick me immediately when he face me,

“I haven’t introduced myself properly to you, I’m Lee Sungmin by the way!” I beamed to him, stretching my hand asking for a handshake.

 He did not respond. Instead he kept shoving his food to his mouth without even spare a glance to me.

 I bit my lips in embarassement and fist my hand before retracting it.

It was one of the most humiliating time in my life, but I didn’t expect better respond from him. I still aware of the possibility for him to kick me out tough. I look at him for a while, rolling my brain to think about other way to start conversation. Then I realize that he always put the vegetables aside in his plate and only eat the rice and the meat,

“are you a carnivore? You don’t even touch the vegetables,” I said jokingly at him. he ignore me again. I bit my lips. What should I do?

“Vegetables is good for health you know, you shouldn’t set it aside,”

 Silence.

“You always sat alone?” I asked without thinking. He stopped his food in the air. Finally, I got his attention, even it was kind of bad attention, very bad attention as I see his eyes darkened and sharpened in annoyance. I gulped.

“Tell them go to hell” Kyuhyun said coldly, piercing my soul with his death glare. I blinked in confusion,

“T-them? Who?” I asked him dumbfoundedly.

“GD and their gang. They must be the one who send you to me,” he said with stern tone. I was furrowing my eyebrow. GD? What kind of name is that? i never heard that name before,

“I-I...who is GD?,” I asked him confusedly. He glared more to me and I blinked more in confusion. He was like trying to make me confessed in something I don’t really know. I stare back at him, then after a while he blinked and looked away,

“So they’re not sent you here,” he murmured more to himself, his eyebrow was crossing but somehow his expression was not as scary as before,

“Mind to explain things to me?” I asked after a long pause. He glanced back to me and that glare in come back again in his eyes, made me shrinking under his stare,

“What do you want from me?” he asked me with cold tone,

“I-I told you...I can’t find any spare desk..s-so...I was coming here..” I stammered and he glare more like he was sensing my lies. I stare back at him for a while, holding my gaze before I surrender and close my eyes,

“Okay- Okay I lied...I-I w-was...uh...” I tried to look at him but immediately regretting it after I saw his eyes, I looked down to avoiding his gaze,

“I-I want to make friend with you because you seems so lonely and closed with other peoples!” I spat out my words quickly and immediately blushing after that. He was blinked for a second, different expressions was running fast in his face before he manage to make expressionless face again. Suddenly he placed his elbow in the desk and looking at me deeply,

“Do you know who I am...Sungmin?” he asked me with dangerous tone, a sly smirk crossed his face after he mentioned my name which was surprised me because he was remember it. His eyes darkened by each seconds as he lean his face closer to mine, made my heartbeat rising dangerously.

“Uh...you are Cho Kyuhyun?” I said the first thing that come out in my mind. He smirked darkly, made me felt uncomfortable under his dark gaze,

“Correct. And do you know what can I do to a pretty boy like you?” he asked me with husky low voice, still with that teasing smirk in his face.

  I gulped before shaking my head. His smirk widened. He was looking at me straight in the eyes as he lift the soda can in the air then crushed it slowly using his fist, creating a loud crack and hissed sound when the liquid drenching his hand. I gasped and stared at the crushed can in his fist before he dropped it to the table with noisy sound. I manage to swallow the hard lump in my throat and stared back at him, his smirk was disappear, and now he was staring at me with threatening gaze, jaw clenched and eyes as cold as unbreakable mountain ice,

“So you better listen to me carefully pretty boy, I don’t need friend. Stay. Away. From me, or next time it will be your bone that I crushed,” he hissed lowly trough his gritted teeth before stood up and leave me frozen in my seat. I glance over his back while he was walking away, then averting my gaze to the crushed can that lied pitifully in the table.

 “Sungmin..Oh god! Sungmin! Are you okay?!” someone waved hand in front of my face. I blinked and look up to see Yesung’s concerned face in front of me along with Eunhyuk and Ryeowook,

“uh...?” was the only thing I manage to say.

 Yesung closed his eyes and sighed,

“What have I told you?! He is dangerous! Why don’t you listen to me?!” he exclaimed and glare to me. unf! Another glare!

“What did he say to you? Oh my god! Did he really crushed this can?” Eunhyuk shrieked and look at the can with horrified looks,

“He is....” I manage to say a word but I can’t. His dangerous voice was echoing in my mind,

“So listen me carefully pretty boy, I don’t need friends. So you better stay away from me, or next time it will be your bone that I crushed,”

I shivered.

“I know, I know. He is dangerous. Even tough I’m still relieved that he only threatening you with words and using this funny analogy,” Yesung said sarcastically and lift the crushed can with this hand, shaking his head

“yes, he can do something worst than this anyway!” Ryeowook said, giving me a drink. I took a bottle of water he offered to me and drank it.

 I was still drinking from the water bottle when suddenly a groups of boys was walking toward me. they are a group of boys with weird fashion style. In the front, standing a feminine looks man with weird hairstyle and weird outfit above his uniform,

“what do you want GD?” Yesung asked the feminine boy with wary tone, his sharp eyes was looking at the group carefully. I immediately snapped my head to the man whose name is GD, remembering that Kyuhyun mention about him before,

“Relax turtle boy! I have no business with you” he mocked to Yesung and smirked lazily to him before darting his eyes to me, his smirk was getting wider as he observing me. He dig his head to the other boys and they immediately dragged Yesung from his seat harshly and shove them to another direction, ignoring his protest.

“Hey!” I protested when they also dragged Ryeowook and Eunhyuk away, made a line that preventing my friends to approach me. I see Eunhyuk lose his temper and nearly punching a boy with blue hair before Yesung dragged him away, made distance between the  gang while looking at me with worried gaze. I glare at GD while he was sitting in front of me, smirking,

“Hello cutie!” he said while poking my chin with his finger. I take a sharp breath and gave him my death glare to call me cutie and dare to touch me after treat my friends harshly, I slapped his hand away from me, made his smirk getting wider,

“aw, don’t be harsh to me puppy! I just want to praise you to approaching the wolverine before, you’re such a brave cutie. I’m G-Dragon, you can call me GD, and these are my gang. Taeyang, Seungri ,TOP, and Daesung” he introduce himself and his gang, the other smirking darkly  to me. I frowned at them, feeling really irritated with their bad appearance and cocky manner,

“he mention about you before,” I manage to say a word to him. GD raised his eyebrow,

“Oh yeah. What did he say about me?” GD asked me with sly smirk that made me want to punch that smirk away from his feminine face, I smirked back,

“he said ‘go to hell’ “ I said while looking straight into his eyes. GD was taken back by my words and lean his back to the chair while laughing maniacly without humour, his eyes was gleaming dangerously while he was looking at me,

“ing bastard wolverine, huh? He made you scared cutie? Hm?” he asked me while caressing my cheeks with his finger. I was nearly pissed off by his act. I am a ing guy! And he treat me like I’m his Barbie doll,

“No, he is not. And can you take your hand out of my face?!” I snapped nearly yell at him in annoyance, slapping his hand from my face, which was surprised him. He laughed again,

“ooh~ this cutie could threatened!” he wooing me and laughing with his friends. I furrowing my eyebrow and glaring at him, feeling my patience getting thinner all the time

“relax cutie! I only wanted to warn you about the wolverine. I don’t blame you to have interest about that wolverine since he is pretty good looking, doesn’t he?”he asked me, I was taken aback from his question and felt more annoyed by it.

“I’m not have interest in him! at least not like in your perception! I was just want to made friends with him!” I exclaimed angrily to him,

 “Really? Good then. You have no clue about how dangerous that wolverine right?” he said to me with husky voice while lean his chin in his palm and rest his elbow on the table. I furrowing my eyebrow but I decide to say nothing, I don’t want to give him satisfaction by answering him,

“Do you know what kind of boy is he?” he asked me, slowly moved his face closer to mine. I drew my head back but he chase me like he willing to kiss me.  I widen my eyes in annoyance and then slap his forehead harshly, made him yelp and moved back. I stood up from my seat and looked at him furiously,

“I don’t know what kind of boy he is! I also don’t know how dangerous he is! But I’m 100 percent sure that he was a better person than you-

“How dare you!” he shouted and stood up as well, anger was flashing in his eyes as he grab my collar and pull me close to him. I heard a sharp gasped and shrieks from the whole cafeteria as the sign of battling. We were glaring to each other, my body was trembling from anger as I grab his hand and tried to shove it away from my collar,

“what happened here?” a deep charismatic voice was echoing through the cafeteria. Made both of me and GD snapped our head to face a tall handsome man who standing in the doorframe. His expression is hard and cold,

“Nothing happened Choi - Choi, we just have a little friendly talk here,” GD said with annoyed tone and release my collar, smoothing it with his palm in dangerous manner, eyes still glaring at me. I returned his glare and erased his palm mark in my collar,

“Don’t force me to report you again GD. And you, the new guy, come with me!” the Choi boy was shouting at me. I glare GD for the last time before moved my legs to the tall man,

“Follow me,” the Choi guy said coldly to me an head back trough the corridor. I follow him even I have no Idea to where he’ll brought me. Oh, I forget about my friends. How are they? Is GD did something to them in the cafeteria?

Too absorbs with my mind, I don’t realize the Choi boy had stop walking and made me bump his back. I yelp and immediately  apologize to him,

“Uh, I’m sorry!” I said massaging my forehead. Damn his hard back muscle. He was turned his body and looked down to me with warned gaze. Yes, he’s looked down to me because he was waay taller than me,

“So,” he said to me with stern gaze, crossing his arm in his chest,

“almost having fight in the first day, hm? Are you a troublemaker?” he ask me coldly, lifting one of his eyebrow to me. I bit my lips and looked down to the ground with guilty feeling,

“I’m sorry. He was acting harsh my friends and being really annoying,” I said and bowed again. suddenly I heard him chuckled, I snapped my head to look at him and saw him grinning,

“I’m joking! I saw the whole accident, don’t worry. GD and his stupid gang always made trouble with anyone, I don’t blame you for losing your temper,” he said and then smiled gently to me. I sighed in relieve and smiled back at him, “Good then,”

“I’m Choi Siwon, Senior student, I also student council president here, nice to meet you,” he said and offered me handshake, I immediately reach his hand and shaking it,

“Lee Sungmin, I also Senior, nice to meet you too,” I said then smiling. Siwon was the most friendly people I met for this long, well, compared to Cho Kyuhyun or even the worst GD and his gang.

“I was asked by the principal to guide you around the school. I was looking for you in the break, but you already gone. Some guys says you’re in the cafeteria with Eunhyuk, so I decide to approach you there. I was on time I supposed, I save you from GD before you two had fight,” he explained to me while walking by my side trough the corridor,

“Oh yeah? I’m sorry you had to looking for me. And thank you so much, I don’t know if you weren’t there on time,” I said truthfully, suddenly feeling grateful that Siwon had pulled me from the fight,

“It’s okay. But, is it true that you approaching Cho Kyuhyun earlier?” he asked me with curious tone. I stopped and looked at him,

“Y-yeah, but he kinda...rejecting me,” I said, biting my lips and looked away,

“He’s difficult person,” Siwon said and smiling reassuringly when I looked up to see him,

 “What actually happened to Kyuhyun? he seems really distant and everyone is scared of him. I’m barely know him, but I don’t think Kyuhyun is a bad person,” I asked Siwon and made him stopping his pace and look at me thoughtfully,

“I’m sorry Sungmin-sshi, It is not my right to talk about Kyuhyun’s past. But I think you’ll know it eventually because it’s like public secret in this school,” he said and smiled apologetically to me. I frowned and we walking together in silence, I was so absorbs with my mind when suddenly Siwon grabbed my arm to stop me,

“Listen Sungmin-shhi,” he was looked down at me with serious face, his thick eyebrow was crossed,

“I was talking this as student council, for your own sake, I ask you to not involve yourself with Kyuhyun nor with GD. For GD, simply because he’s troublemaker who love to made someone else’s life became miserable. And for Kyuhyun...because he’s-

“Dangerous?” I asked Siwon warily. Siwon gaped for a moment before nodded, even something in his eyes was slightly rejecting that statement,

“he has conflicted personality, Sungmin-shhi. Not to mention his past. I’m just ask you to be careful,” Siwon said in serious tone, his eyes was showing pure concern and understanding. I was locking my gaze with Siwon for a while before nodded stiffly,

“I’ll be careful. But I cannot promise you to not involving myself with him,” I said stubbornly. Siwon frowned more,

“I actually hope for another answer. He is...he can hurt you if it’s necessary Sungmin-shhi. He doesn’t want people to get close with him-

“why?”

“I cannot tell you why!”

“then I cannot promise myself to stay away from him!” I said stubbornly. We were glaring to each other, eyes fighting in silence until Siwon sighed and close his eyes,

“I never like to tell about people’s privacy,” he sighed, rubbing his bridge of nose,

“I always can ask another people for it, as you say, it’s a public secret. Actually GD had offered me before-

“No no no! Not GD! You must not get involved with him, trust me,” he said panicky and grabbed my arm to assured me. I look at him for a while, glaring still until Siwon sighed again and face palming himself,

“I think it’s better if I’m the one who tell you, other student will told you modificated story for sure” he said, look at me with half annoyed-half defeated gaze. Unconsciously my lips pulled into a tiny smile,

“It’s gonna be a long story,” he said while looking at me seriously. I smirked,

“spill it out.”

I release my watch from my left wrist and put it beside the faucet. I the faucet and wash my hand with the cold water. The coldness of the water was soothing me, make me calmed down.

“He had a complicated past Sungmin-shhi. His own father killed his mother when he was 9 years old. His father was in jail until now...”

I leaned my head and put it under the faucet, let the water showering my face with coldness that stinging my bare skin.

 “His relatives refuse to take care of him so he was sent to the asylum. With that kind of past, no one will be the same person. He was moved to one asylum to another. They said the asylum couldn’t control his temper. He like to fight and refuses all the help given,”

I pulled back from the faucet when my lung screaming for air then looked at my reflection in the mirror. Droplets of water had running through my hair to my face then down to my neck, made my uniform wet.

 “He was escape from the asylum one day, and refuses to come back. He lived with a man named Park Jungsu after that, he also worked on his theather. When he first entering this high school he was a very silent boy although he is a brilliant student. He refuses all peoples that coming for him, he talked to no one, he never smiled, he’s really mysterious. Until one day GD spilled out the truth about his past,”

“GD thought Kyuhyun was harmless so he insulting Kyuhyun’s parents in front of him. They had a big fight that time. I seriously never see something scarier that that fight. GD was laid unconscious in the hospital for 3 days,”

  I tracing the white scars on my wrist with my finger, shivering from the memories of the painful feel when I created that scars. Over and over again. Sometimes I forget about how fragile I am, and these scars was  remind me of it. These scars also  the one  that made me remember to kept strong.

“We never saw Kyuhyun in the same eyes again after that. No one did. We was...afraid of him and his past. He was like that since then, no one ever dare to approach him or even gave a blink on him. When people approach him, mostly they are new guys like you, he’ll beat them and made sure they’ll not approach him again”

 I dried my hand and wrapped the watch back on my wrist, covering my scars with it . No one need to know about the existence of these scars.

I was entering my class, smiling and calming Eunhyuk who had been waiting for me in the class. I was talking with him for a moment, but my eyes shifted to a boy who sat alone in the corner of the room. Face glowing under the sunlight, looking outside the window with no expression.

“ I don’t think he’s a criminal like everyone said, Sungmin-sshi. But he’s dangerous, at least for you. Don’t made the same mistakes like other guys before you,”

Feeling my stare he turned his head and looked at me with cold gaze. He held it for a while, stabbing my soul again and again with his stern gaze before I looked away and sighed.

I know what he tried to do with me.

He want to scare me.

He want to chase me away.

He afraid to let people approach him because he doesn’t want to get hurt.

But the loneliness in his eyes was telling me his sadness and despair. His eyes was showing me the longing for a care and understanding. His eyes was needed someone to leaned for.

“Stay away from him.” Siwon said to me after a long pause. I smiled at him without looking, my eyes was wandering away to the park near the class,

“I can’t Siwon-shhi, I’m sorry,” I whisper lowly. Siwon sighed again, then turned his body to look at the sight as well,

“just wanted to know Sungmin-shhi, why are you so persistent to know him?” he asked me, sounding his defeated. I smiled again then close my eyes, let the warmness of the sunlight showering my face, before answered Siwon’s question,

“because he was remind me of myself,”

The teacher had arrived to the class, made everyone rushed to their own seat. I carefully seat on my chair, stealing a glance toward the boy beside me,

Kyuhyun might be not know at all, but I ever sat in the same boat as him.
