"Amber it's time to wake up." A soothing voice, one I know well, whispered in my ear.

Slowly opening my eyes I saw my mom looking at me. Yawning, I rubbed my eyes and

smiled at my mom, I bet I looked drunk while smiling at her.

"Good morning sunshine!" She greeted while ruffling my short blonde hair.

My hair was long at one point, but it got to the stage where it was way too long. So my mom

decided to chop it off one day while I was asleep...she cut it a little too short.

"Morning, what's for breakfast?" mom backed away so I could

slip out of bed.

"Well, since it's the first day of school, I made you sausage, eggs, toast, and bacon

with a glass of orange juice!" Walking to my closet, she pulled out my

school uniform and tossed it to me.

I chuckled, "It sounds delicious!" I exclaimed walking into the bathroom.

Gently I closed the door halfway and slipped out of my pajamas. Before I put my skirt on

I put on a pair of spandex; I may be a girl but that doesn't mean I have to dress or act like one.

Once I was done changing I brushed my teeth, and I put in my blue and green contacts. If you're going to ask, why aren't

you taking a shower?  It's because I take them at night.

Since I'm done with that, time to eat!! I squealed with excitement while running down the stairs.

Rushing into the kitchen I saw my mom sitting at the table with my backpack

by my seat.

"I hope you won't forget about your backpack this year, you are such a forgettable

daughter!" Mom chuckled.

For the past two years I've forgotten my bag on the first days of school, mom

had to come to school and drop it off.

"I won't forget, I promise!" Pouting I picked up my fork, stabbing

my eggs I stuffed my face.

After finishing breakfast mom picked up her car keys kissed me on the cheek

then left for work.

Checking the time my eyes almost popped out of my

head. "I"M GONNA BE LATE!!!" yelling I ran to the front door

pulling it open I ran down the front steps.

I had a feeling I was missing something, but I was to worried about missing the first

day of school to care. My house was two blocks away from

my high school so it was pretty easy to walk and or run in this case to school.

Seeing the front gate of the school just ahead of me I pushed myself to go just a little bit more.

GAH! all this running burns my calves!! Just a little more...MADE IT!!!!

"Whoop whoop!!" Doing a little victory dance, I skipped off to the office to get

my schedule.

"Hello Amber, I see you've forgotten your bag again." The principals

assistant, Mrs. Park, greeted me.

My eyes widened, "That's what I forgot!!" I patted myself down.

"It's okay Amber, you can use the school phone

to call your mom!" She beamed and handed me the phone, bowing my head

I thanked her.

Dialing my moms cellphone I waited until she picked up.

"Hello sweetheart, I'm guessing you forgot your backpack again?" I

swear I could see her smirking.

"Yes, I'm sorry." I let out a sigh and ruffled my hair.

"I'll be there in ten."
