Scenarios, Fantasies, and Daydreams of an Asian Fanfic Writer

Description

A collection of one-shots [or two-shots] for the avid fanfiction readers out there. This is mainly focused on the five members of DBSK but there may be a few instances when other k-pop artists also appear.

Includes a variety of storylines, some original, some I felt obligated to try out. By that I mean those stories where the nerd falls for the unattainable. Truthfully, I'm a huge er for that storyline in particular, so if your story is somehow related to that type of  storyline . . . you better message me! I look forward to reading it.

Writers always need some type of break or way to distract themselves from their work sometimes. All writers know, you can't just write a full-fledged thirty chapter story in one day. [If you can, props to you!] Maybe a simple outline to list out the events are possible, scribbling down the personality of your characters, or creating the first few chapters.

If you're like me, you need breaks, you procrastinate, and then you take more time off by reading other peoples' works. Hey, it's no big deal. Writers need inspiration, without it, what are we supposed to do? It's a major flaw we have yet to live with.

I went on vacation and came up with a few things. Instead of keeping them to myself, I decided to post them. My babies, going out into the cold, dark, unforgiving world already . . . sniffle.

Foreword

ScenarioOne: Ready, Set, Go!: See You At the Finish Line

Injuries, a nightmare that can sabotage an athlete’s dream and smash it to smithereens. For Rei Hikari, that nightmare became reality. Due to an unfortunate hurdles accident on the track, she is unable to fulfill her dream— taking part in the Olympics. Hikari soon finds herself volunteering at a local hospital over the summer, something she never saw herself doing. She imagined herself training with the best of the best, running a couple of laps around the track, or practicing her consistency on the hurdles. But now, how can she when she can’t even bring herself to step onto the black asphalt.

Then she meets Park Yoochun, an aspiring songwriter with a knack for scribbling lyrics and melodies wherever he can. There’s just one problem. He has a fear of the very instrument he’d grown fond of during his childhood. Just like Hikari, something’s holding him back from fulfilling his dreams. Through a series of twists and turns, Hikari learns it’s not enough to want something with fifty percent of your being. She has to give it everything she’s got it she wants to get back on the track. Can Hikari overcome her fear of the track and somehow win the race to Yoochun’s heart in the process? One thing’s for sure, the finish line is coming up fast, whether Hikari can face her fears or not will make all the difference.

ScenarioTwo: On or Off: Glasses Never Mattered, Just You

At Seoul University, Yu Lin is known as the girl with everything. Often compared to others as the epitome of beauty, athletics, and academics, Yu Lin is a triple threat no one wants to mess with. She has friends, sure, she has lots of them. But how many of them would jump in front of a bullet for her? Or better yet, stay by her side when a nasty rumor spreads. That’s right, none. When Kim Jaejoong transfers to the University, with his baggy trousers, dress shirts two sizes too big for him, and horrid thick rimmed glasses he turns up to be Yu Lin’s seat partner for the rest of the year. With a new face, Yu Lin’s convinced she can finally make a friend. Wrong. A few days and apologies later, maybe the dream of a friend isn’t so far away, along with the possibility of a first boyfriend.

But Jaejoong isn’t who he says he is, a nerd? Really? With his unknown status as a son of a wealthy lawyer and business man, Jaejoong can virtually afford anything and with his connections, obtain anything, even a make-over by a famous fashion designer to hide his image and start fresh in a new school. But, money and looks alone don’t buy love. Maybe letting his true personality shine will win her heart. Throw in a couple of ex-best friends, obsessed fans from his last school, and a few stuck-up snobs seeking revenge, winning over Yu Lin’s heart seems impossible, perilous even. That is, if she hadn’t already fallen for the boy who’d first walked into the classroom. On or off, glasses never mattered.

ScenarioThree: After the Whistle Blows: Overtime

Kim Junsu wasn’t always the star player of the boys’ soccer team. He used to always be picked on, teased during the school day and then mocked as soon as soccer practice began. He wasn’t the best player, or the second best, not even third, he was far from fourth but still, he loved the sport. With that spirit, he spent his free time kicking around a ball, bringing it everywhere with him. But he still never improved, not even in the slightest. So when he finds Kyu Mi going through the same thing he makes it his duty to watch her every night, from the bushes by the soccer goals. The only difference between them is, Kyu Mi commands a lot of respect. Captain of the girls’ soccer team, she’s a hard worker and doesn’t disappoint when it comes to skills and stamina. When Junsu comes out of his hiding spot and asks her to train him, she’s hesitant to do so. She’s heard about him, hell, she’s made fun of her himself.

It’s because of her guidance he’s here, playing college ball, and being scouted by three of the top teams in the league now. He owes everything to her, he would give everything for her, all because during that span of six months of ruthless training, he learned to run a little harder, defend more aggressively, control the ball better, and appreciate the small things in life more than ever— the way she rolled on the ground whenever she missed a goal opportunity, the dazzling smile that appeared when she did get the goal, the musical jingle of her laughter, and the way her lips were made just for him, molded to fit like a missing puzzle piece.

ScenarioFour: The World is Your Canvas: Pictures Come to Life

Being a well-known painter in the art world is definitely not an easy task, not as easy as Park Yoochun makes it seem. Fresh out of college, majoring in art, he finds inspiration. Three months after that, his pictures are on every art related magazine in the country. Most artists don’t become famous until a couple years after they die, Yoochun was lucky to experience such popularity during the first few years of his life. His popularity dies down a bit after four years without a single new painting. He’s become a little less humble than he was when he first started, clubbing every night isn’t a good thing, neither is coming home drunk half the time. Tired of his bad habits, his manager decides to send him on a trip around the world. Not to reward him but to heal him.

Most of his inspiration came from experiencing a certain emotion, but finding the spark to that emotion was difficult. Love isn’t easy to find, especially when one isn’t sure if your supposed other half is using you for the money you possess or your connections. Yoochun doesn’t find love, but he does find lost memories of his past loves. After four years he finally completes a painting but he’s completely unsatisfied with it and tosses it aside. But when his painting comes to life in the form of Jin Ae, he not only finds himself a love to last a lifetime but his true soul mate. He realizes that as time passes, Jin Ae seems to become weaker and weaker, almost fading as she gets caught in a rain storm. He's helpless, is this really how he was meant to live? Alone?
