And here is the little…

“Hey Mr Grumpy” Amber said to me

“Who are you to call me grumpy?”  I replied.

“English please, I don’t speak posh” she said turning towards the rest if the staff

“HEY GUY’S, tonight party at my place” she said, followed by everyone cheering

“You coming?” she asked me

“Why, would I come?” I shot back

“Because the party is for you” she replied. I was completely shocked

“Me?” I asked, she answered with a nod.

“Then I might come.” I said

“No, might, you will come.” She said with a little wave

She’s right, but why for me?

That NIGHT…

Ambers POV

“Told you, you’ll come” I said. He just rolled his eyes. I walked over to the stereo and turned the volume down

“HI, HI GUY’S, you all know the tradition for the new people.” They all giggled

“Well….” I pointed to Kris

“He’s new” ‘CHEER’

“But let him get drunk, so he doesn’t remember anything that happens tonight” I turned up the music again. And walked over to Kris

“What did you just get me into?” he asked

“Something” I replied, and tried to hand him a whiskey. He just shook his head

“Come on, lighten up” I said still holding the whiskey glass to his face.

“I said No” he shoved the glass away that I nearly dropped it.

“See, right there is your problem.” I said drinking what was left in the glass. Then I saw him refill it, then again, then again, and once more, until…

“Whhhhooooo!!!” he cried

“Come” he said grabbing my hand. I guess the saying tall people can’t dance is true.

“Wait right here” I said, but he wasn’t listening. I rushed to the stereo and turned it down.

“All those who have guts and can lift Kris, it’s time.” I said. Five guys picked him up and took him outside.

SPLASH!!!

I went outside just in time to see him pop his head out of the water

I bobbed down near the edge of the pool.

“Feel refreshed?” I asked him as he was swimming towards me.

“Yep” he said, and then I saw him hold out his hand, I took it because I thought he wanted help. But instead I felt myself being pulled in. I burst my head out of the water.

“IT’S COLD!!!!” I screamed, I turned to find Kris laughing. I splashed water at his face. Everybody was cheering, except one.

“AMBER! Get out NOW!!!” I turned to find Victoria holding a towel. I rolled my eyes, but obeyed.

Once I was dry I pulled out my little notebook and wrote

Hello God,

It’s me Amber, Wow you work fast. I just saw the most beautiful smile. But it’s not as beautiful as mine.

Hope you can keep working on me.

I came down stairs to find Kris already sleeping. I shook my head and asked a few (non-drunk) people to carry him to the spare room down stairs. I can tell you that trying to get him there was a mission. I dried his hair, put the covers over him and left.

“Oh, one’s already dead.” Victoria joked. I smiled and pushed her into the pool.

I wonder will I ever see that smile again.
