The Retreat
The RetreatThe idea…
Youngjae rubbed his eyes, willing them to stop hurting. The monitor was causing them to burn, and the lack of sleep was not helping either. Why, why had he not slept last night? He knew he would be sitting staring at a damn computer screen for half the night. Groaning he reached for his coffee, jumping when hands came down on his shoulders.
“You look like you could use a break.” He flashed a smile at the eldest looking of the former group Nu’est.
“Do I? I think tons of caffeine will take care of the problem.” He groaned and let his head fall forward as JR began kneading his shoulders.
“How are we doing?” He asked, nodding toward the screen.
Youngjae sighed. The new super group was falling short of super. Take eight of the hottest men from eight of the hottest disbanded groups, and that should have been a winning combination to rival Super Junior’s success. Instead, the criticism from fans was overwhelming at their debut. Although they sounded okay, personalities were not quite meshing and it showed in their interaction on stage and off stage. He couldn’t very well tell JR he was overall, though. “Less than stellar. We should have like a group team building event.”
He abruptly sat up causing JR to jump back. “That’s it. That’s perfect! We are going to go on a team building retreat.”
“You want us to go on a retreat? And you think that will solve all our problems?” JR asked incredulously.
“You don’t think so?” Youngjae waved his hand dismissively. “Doesn’t matter. I’m going to run it by GD anyway.”
JR was left standing there as he hurried from the room, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. I should just learn to keep my mouth shut, he thought.
One week later…
