Wonderwall

Pre-chorus

Krystal was in the kitchen preparing sandwiches while Yuri and Tiffany were in the living room trying to defeat the terrorists that Krystal and Yuri failed to annihilate earlier.

“Is she sick again? She took that loss quite well today and she wasn’t rambling about losing on her way to the kitchen.”

“She’s probably just in a good mood. Let’s revel in that.”

“Do you think maybe it has something to do with you not bothering us and playing with us instead?”

“Maybe.”

Yuri shook her head when she noticed the smile creeping up on her face. “God, I really hate you and Yoong right now. You guys just seem so happy.”

“It’s not our fault you’re a wimp, Yuri.”

“Shut up. Do you guys still fight a lot? I rarely hear shouting coming from your room when she’s staying over.”

“She asked some guys over the other day to make my room sound proof because we still cause noise but it’s a different kind of noise now, you know, noise that comes from stuff that two consenting adults do.”

“Oh my god! Stop painting a dirty picture for me, Fany. I really don’t need it.”

Tiffany guffawed while Yuri busied herself with setting up the claymore and getting rid of the images in her head of Krystal and Tiffany doing the nasty inside the room across her own room.

“When’s the last time you slept with a dude?”

“That’s totally random. Why’d you ask?”

“I don’t know. Don’t you miss it?”

“Having with a guy?” Yuri answered her with a nod. “I dunno. Krys is like…really, really good in bed.”

“But don’t you ever miss it?”

“I…I dunno. I guess.”

“If you answered no, I wouldn’t have believed you.”

She elbowed Yuri’s arm and frowned as she continued hitting the button and killing off terrorists. “Why are you making it sound like I slept around?”

“Oh come on, you did! Everyone knew you did after you and Yoong called it quits.”

“That didn’t last for a month!”

“So you could confidently say that baby Jung satisfies your needs in bed?”

Before she could answer Yuri’s question, Krystal got back from the kitchen and instead of sitting beside Tiffany, she sat beside Yuri and placed the plate on the coffee table.

She grabbed a sandwich and took a huge bite.

“Mission accomplished! Ha, see that? I’m better than you on this game now.”

Krystal ignored her and continued eating.

“Kwon, switch places with me.”

Yuri rolled her eyes and put the game controller on Krystal’s lap. She stood up and excused herself to her room before she witness anymore PDA courtesy of the two.

“You eat like a child,” Tiffany stated as she wiped the mayo off of her girlfriend’s face.

Krystal ignored her and continued taking big bites, holding the sandwich on one hand and the game controller on the other.

“Do you want to play this again? I’ll teach you how,” Tiffany teased but got the cold shoulder. “Fine. If you enjoy that sandwich so much then go and marry it.”

She knew how childish her statement was and she was honestly expecting a look of pity coming from Krystal but that didn’t happen.

So Tiffany being Tiffany, she put down the controller and crossed her arms over her chest to show Krystal that she was upset but Tiffany was obviously going to lose the waiting game. She got impatient when she continued being ignored by Krystal who was now playing a different video game.

“Are you really not going to say anything?”

“What exactly do you want me to—ing imbecilic Mario—say?”

“I don’t know. Anything.  I hate your stupid mood swings.”

“Really? What else?”

Tiffany was pushed further with the tone Krystal was using.

“Didn’t we have this agreement that you’d stop being so sarcastic when you’re talking to me?”

“I wasn’t being sarcastic. I’m actually asking what else you hate about me. Do you hate that I sometimes snore? Do you not like the fact that I’m majoring in Chemical Engineering or do you despise the fact that I’m a girl and there are things that guys could do for you that I can’t? Did I get that right?”

“What?”

Krystal scoffed and stood up, tossing the game controller on the couch.

“Y-you heard that? Look, you’re getting the wrong idea, I—“

“How is that even possible? I heard what you said. You didn’t even have to say anything. You hesitating and not knowing what to answer, that’s enough to piss me off. Go find a guy and him if that’s what would satisfy you.”

She stormed off, leaving an equally pissed off Tiffany. Yuri came out of her room when she heard the door getting slammed.

“What the hell happened?”

“Kwon. Yuri.”

Yuri cowered at the glare Tiffany was giving her and asked, “What’d I do?”

---

“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” Yoona asked, holding Jessica by her waist as the latter fixed her hair.

“I’m sure. I don’t like clubbing anyways. Too noisy and sweaty people bumping into me is my worst nightmare.”

Yoona giggled and pulled her closer. “And to think we first met there.”

“I go on very rare occasions. You just go ahead and try to cheer Tiffany up.”

The two of them have heard about the fight from Tiffany herself but they’ve already had an idea that something bad went down when they saw Krystal coming home with a frown on her face and slamming her bedroom door, refusing to come out.

When Tiffany came knocking, they thought she was there to talk things through with Krystal but they were clearly wrong. She went there to invite Yoona to go to some bar and hang out like they used to but Yoona knew better. She knew Tiffany was just doing it so she could drown herself with alcohol and forget about her problems for a little while.

She agreed only because leaving Tiffany alone in a bar wouldn’t be the wisest thing to do.

“Is Krystal still sulking?”

Jessica nodded. “She really doesn’t like it when people make her realize that she’s lacking something.”

“Who doesn’t hate that feeling? Yuri and Fany are just being their typical idiotic selves.”

“My sister will get over it eventually.” Jessica kissed her girlfriend’s forehead and patted her back. “You and Tiffany should get going.”

She pouted and pointed to her lips. “Kiss.”

“You’re trying to boss me around now?”

“I just want a kiss before I leave.”

Jessica smiled and gave Yoona what she wanted. She placed her hand on the small of Yoona’s back as she gently ushered her outside of her room to the living room where Tiffany was waiting. The two noticed her staring at Krystal’s bedroom but she pretended she was looking some place else when she saw Yoona and Jessica.

“Woah, I almost forgot that you’re kind of hot, Yoong. Thanks for reminding me.”

“Fany, are you really going to flirt with me in front of my girlfriend? In front of your girlfriend’s sister?”

“I’m not flirting with you. Dream on.” Tiffany crouched down to pick up her purse and she was probably too comfortable in front of them that she didn’t feel the need to cover what her neckline failed to cover.

Jessica didn’t look away fast enough so she had a glimpse of Tiffany’s cleavage and she had to admit that it was almost non-existent. She could only guess that she was wearing a really good push-up bra. She glanced at Yoona to see where she’s looking and felt relieved that she was looking somewhere else. Their gazes met and she put on a small smile for her.

“We’ll get going so Tiffany could drown all her sorrows in alcohol.”

“Meanie.” Tiffany linked arms with Yoona and the two went out, failing to notice the frown that has formed on Jessica’s face.

Because of that scene she witnessed, her plan on going to bed early was thrown out of the window. She tried sleeping it off but that wouldn’t work and she’s still bothered by the closeness the two displayed when they left her apartment.

She picked up her phone and read the message that she has gotten from Yoona half an hour ago.

I know you’re most likely asleep by now but I’ll say it anyways. Don’t wait up. I love you.—Yoong

She’s been trying to decide if she would send her a reply or if she should just pretend that she was already sleeping. When she made up her mind and decided to send her a message, a new problem came up. She doesn’t know what to tell her.

Her mind went back to Tiffany linking their arms together and it kept playing in her head. She hated to admit it but she could feel the green-eyed monster creeping up on her. It almost seemed like her fingers had a mind of their own and the next thing she knew, she was already sending Yoona the reply that she’s typed in.

She inwardly cursed when she saw the dreaded “Message sent” on her screen. She read the message she sent to her and she almost hurled the phone across the room.

I know you’re just friends and all but isn’t she being a little too touchy-feely with you?

“Oh my god! What did I just do?”

She chucked it on the other side of the couch and a few minutes later, the familiar message alert tone was heard. She checked the message and read it aloud.

“I’ll keep my distance. I love you.”

She typed in her response and sent it to Yoona which made the younger girl happier.

I love you, too.—Sica

Tiffany saw her grinning by herself while they were waiting for their drinks.

“You look like a lovesick puppy. I hate it.”

“You’re just jealous and mad at yourself for letting Yul run her big mouth and letting your big mouth run with hers.”

“Shut up.” Tiffany chugged down her drink in one go and grabbed Yoona’s drink, gulping it in one go as well.

Yoona shook her head at the sight of her distraught friend but at the same time she couldn’t help but feel elated. She’s always wondered what jealous Jessica was like and seeing the preview of it made her glad, for some odd reason. She was curious as to how it would’ve been like if she showed it to her personally and not only through a text message.

She wasn’t even sure why she prefers the person she’s dating to show a little jealousy from time to time. In her mind it’s translated as a sign that the person you’re dating cares about you. They care about you enough to show their vulnerable side and admit that they do have insecurities.

Tiffany pushed herself up off the stool and pulled Yoona with her. “We are not going to sit here all night. I’m going to dance and you’re going to dance with me.”

“No, thank you, Fany. I know how you dance. I’m taken.”

Tiffany was scandalized at what Yoona was implying. She let go of her and roughly hit her arm.

“Ouch! What? Every time you dance with someone you look like you’d take your clothes off any second and just do it right then and there.”

“That’s not true.”

“That is a known fact so if you’ll excuse me, I’d be sitting there and watch you dance with other people. Do remember that you still have a girlfriend who is currently sulking because you hurt her feelings.”

“You are a horrible friend.”

Tiffany walked towards a vacant seat. Instead of doing what she initially wanted to, she figured Yoona was right and she knew it was better to just drink than get herself in even more trouble.

The drinks kept coming and Yoona chose to stay sober while Tiffany chugged down every drop of alcohol that was brought to their table.

Several guys tried to hit on them and some even asked for their numbers. Yoona politely declined and Tiffany who was clearly in a bad mood just glared at them and it was enough to make them go into hiding.

It was a quarter after midnight when Tiffany passed out. Yoona tried calling Yuri but to no avail. She later on remembered that Yuri wasn’t even at their apartment. She went back home to her family after the traumatic experience with the raging Tiffany.

So she asked the bartender for help to bring Tiffany to her car. Yoona tipped him for his help and drove back to Jessica’s apartment, hoping that her girlfriend was still awake. She struggled in helping a passed out Tiffany and even unintentionally bumped Tiffany’s head on the elevator on their way up to Jessica’s place.

Yoona rang the doorbell twice and was surprised to see Jessica on the other side of the door. Any sign of sleepiness was hidden by the confusion on her face.

“Is Tiffany okay?”

“Yeah, she’s just drunk.”

Jessica then helped her get the girl inside her own bedroom.

“Sorry I brought her here. Your place was closer than ours.”

“It’s alright. Did you drive?”

“Mmhmm.”

Jessica suddenly pecked her on the lips which took her by surprise and a second later, she was hit on the same spot Tiffany hit her earlier.

“You could’ve just called for a cab instead of driving after you had a drink.”

“I just took a sip,” she answered as she rubbed the sore spot on her arm.

“Still.”

“Alright, I’m sorry.”

Jessica rolled her eyes and ignored her. She was looking an extra blanket that she could use when she felt someone hugging her from the back.

“Can I stay for the night?”

She felt the hair on the back of her neck standing up when she heard Yoona whispering in her ear.

“If you’re fine with sleeping on the floor then sure, why the heck not.”

“You’re not going to be sleeping on the same bed as Fany, are you? That would make me really jealous.”

Jessica didn’t need to see Yoona’s face as she was uttering those words. Even a blind man would know she was just taunting her and she could tell Yoona was enjoying every second of it.

She turned around only to be proven right. Yoona was grinning from ear to ear and was ready to burst out in laughter.

“You’re such a kid.”

Yoona’s expression turned into something else and Jessica couldn’t figure out what it was and what was going on inside her girlfriend’s head. The younger girl suddenly leaned in and gave her a kiss that woke up all her senses.

It was cut short when they heard Tiffany’s loud snore.

“Can’t we just sleep on the couch?”

“That’s a good idea.”

When the two of them have settled on the Jung’s comfortable couch, Yoona who was positioned on the edge of the said couch suddenly got up and started planting wet kisses on her neck.

Jessica gently pushed her away and asked, “What are you doing?”

“What do you think I’m doing? Mowing the lawn? I’m kissing you, of course.”

“I know that but why?” Yoona has always been affectionate towards her but she couldn’t help but think that something was up. “Are you…did someone hit on you at the bar? Are you doing this because you somehow feel guilty? Tell me the truth.”

Yoona sat up and clutched her stomach as she laughed. “No…no, that’s not it but I will remember not to do that if ever.”

“What is it then? You’re acting a bit weird.”

“This is your fault.”

“How?”

“I didn’t know jealous Jessica would be such a turn on.”

Jessica’s ears turned pink at Yoona’s bold statement and her hands instinctively covered it.

“Of all the girls and guys who’ve shown their admiration for my innate beauty, it’s Tiffany you chose to be jealous of?” Yoona removed Jessica’s hands that were covering her ears and kissed them.

“First of all, that was very humble of you,” she said, rolling her eyes, “and how can I not be jealous of her? You two had a history together.”

Yoona’s grin became more apparent when she heard that.

“Stop grinning like a Cheshire cat.”

“I can’t help it. You’re too cute when you get jealous.”

“You’re liking this too much.”

Yoona kissed her nose. “I like you too much.”

“Are you sure you only took a sip of alcohol because you sound like a cheesy drunk.”

“I’m sure. I’m also sure that your jealousy turns me on. In my eyes you turned from Jung Jessica to…food.”

Jessica snorted. “What?”

“Sometimes I like food more than I like you. I will admit that there are times when I’m extremely hungry that I thought of trading you for a tub of ice cream but because you showed me this side of you, I can confidently say that I like you more than food now.”

Jessica wasn’t amused finding out that food ranked higher than her on Yoona’s list of priorities.

“You’re really asking to be pushed down on the floor, aren’t you?”

Yoona grinned and shook her head. The younger girl then hugged and rested her head on top of her chest.

“I really wasn’t kidding on the part where I said you . I’m really kind of now.”

“Yoona! My sister and her girlfriend are literally a few feet away from us and they’re sleeping.”

“Exactly they won’t hear us.”

“This is a couch that visitors use when they come over, Yoona.”

Yoona sighed and just when Jessica thought she’s given up on the thought of doing it there, she spoke again.

“So you really don’t want to do it?”

Yoona ended up sleeping on the floor but at around four in the morning, she felt movement beside her and when she turned around she saw Jessica huddling next to her.

She pulled her closer and kissed the top of her girlfriend’s head. “I love you.”

“I love you, too.” It came out as a mumble but Yoona heard it and she didn’t mind the back pains that she would feel when she wake up. Waking up next to Jessica made everything fine.

---

Krystal woke up the next day and the first thing she saw when she got out of her room was her sister who turned into a koala overnight hugging her very own eucalyptus tree named Yoona.

She wanted nothing more but too disturb their deep slumber but her tummy was already making sounds that aren’t known to mankind yet. She went to the kitchen and wondered why the lovebirds slept in the living room.

After grabbing a cookie and a pouring herself a glass of milk, she went to her sister’s room and saw Tiffany sprawled on her sister’s bed.

The blanket and the pillows were all on the floor.

“Typical.”

She sighed and hurriedly finished her cookie before taking a sip of her milk. She then put the glass on the bedside table and started picking up the blanket and the pillows that were all scattered on the floor. She badly wanted to hurl one pillow on Tiffany’s face to wake her up but she thought it would be too mean, even for her.

“You cretin,” she muttered as she put the blanket on top of the girl’s body.

“Krystal?”

She looked up and saw Yoona rubbing her eyes and yawning. She got off the bed and grabbed her glass of milk before going back to the kitchen with Yoona in tow.

“What were you doing there? Were you trying to suffocate her with a pillow?”

“If that wasn’t a crime, I probably would’ve tried it.”

“Granted Fany could be stupid sometimes—“

“I’m not even going to contest that.”

“She doesn’t think twice before saying something but trust me, sometimes when she says things…she most likely doesn’t mean it.”

“I know what I heard, Yoona-unnie.”

“Just talk about it. I’m sure she has a reason on why she said those things, whatever they are.”

“Whatever.”

Yoona stared at Krystal and the more she stared at her, the more she gets reminded of Jessica. The Jessica who rejected her several times. The Jessica who was too intimidating to talk to.

She smiled as she was reminded how far their relationship has come.

“Krys.”

“Hmm?”

“Do you think your mom and dad liked me?”

“Why? Are you planning to join our family?” Krystal asked jokingly but when Yoona didn’t give her a direct answer, she gasped and almost choked on the milk she was drinking. “Oh my god!”

“Too soon?”

“OH. MY. GOD!”

“What?”

“Are you really…?”

“Well, I want to.”

“Oh my god, Yoona-unnie!”

“What? You’re freaking me out. Don’t shout too much. You might wake them up.”

“Oh my god! Oh my god!” Krystal ran towards her and embraced her. “OH MY GOD!”

“Krystal, stop.”

“I honestly thought she was going to be a spinster. Thank you, Yoona-unnie and you don’t have to worry about our parents. Make Jessica-unnie happy and we won’t do anything bad to you. You have my word.”

“That did nothing but scare me.”

Krystal tightened the bear hug but let go when she heard Tiffany’s voice.

“My head hurts so much. Why were you shouting like you were giving birth?”

“Shut up. Stop ruining the good atmosphere.”

“Good atmosphere does not exist whenever you’re around.”

Krystal rolled her eyes and stormed off to her room.

“You had to provoke her, Fany, huh?”

“I need an aspirin.”

“That’s not the only thing you’ll need. You should probably get yourself checked.”

The drowsiness was out of Tiffany and Yoona was sure as hell that she was fully awake.

“Oh my god! Did I cheat on Krystal last night?”

Yoona chuckled at the worried tone Tiffany was using and how she had to look around to make sure Krystal wasn’t there. She felt kind of guilty at what she did.

“Look at you not caring about the possible ually transmitted disease you could’ve gotten but caring about cheating on my sister-in-law. You two should totally make up because you obviously care about her. She obviously cares about you and last night was a misunderstanding.”

“So…I didn’t sleep with anyone last night?”

“No. You just drowned yourself with alcohol.”

“THEN WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME WORRY LIKE THAT?”

“I was trying to make a point.”

“”.” Tiffany then stormed off in the same fashion as Krystal’s but came back after she realized something. “You said ‘sister-in-law’…oh.my.god. You and Jessica-unnie are—“

“No we aren’t, stupid.”

“Why would you—oh my god, you’re…are you planning on proposing to her?”

“That’s what I really want to do. Not now. Not tomorrow but I want it to be soon. Don’t tell Yuri about this. She might get mad at me. I have to tell her myself.”

“I’m not planning on talking to that stupid unicorn.”

Yoona chuckled. “Keep your mouth shut, Fany. I mean it.”

“Okay, okay. My lips are sealed.”

“Good. Now go talk to Krystal.”

“, who gave you the right to tell me what to do?” She walked out again and left Yoona thinking of how she was going to propose to Jessica.

I like your writing style but i still sometimes get confused on whose POV it is( I'm not sure if its because of how you write it or maybe because its my fault). Chapter 33: I'm sorry but I start to think that you must be one of Carmilla web series' writers, you're either jordan hall or ellen simpson. I mean I got all the Carmilla vibes in your story after I reread it again. and there's no way this was inspired by that web series because it came out way earlier than that. I read this years ago, and carmilla was only last year. Or maybe it's just me being obsessed with your works and carmilla.
