Buy him pyjamas.
Of Dragons, Pandas, and Insanity.Tao's sitting behind Kris as he lethargically types away at the computer, occasionally pausing to sip at the cup of coffee or to jerk his head up so it doesn't crash on the keyboard. He always stays up with Kris, partly because he's fascinated by the computer, and mostly because he just can't sleep without Kris. He pouts as he stares at the advertisement longingly. It's located on the side of whatever webpage Kris's on, some thingy with graphs and lots of complicated words his four-year-mind can't understand.
It doesn't matter, anyway, since Kris's bored by it too. Tao can tell from the way his appa's eyes trail over the same part of the page again and again and again and his head just seems like it's lead.
All that aside, he's amazed by the advertisment. It shows a mother-daughter pair wearing a matching pair of pink pororo pyjamas. The daughter looks about Tao's age, and she has a sparkly pink scrunchie in her hair to compliment her clothes. Both of them look like Chanyeol's students in the laughing department.
Tao wants it. Not the scrunchie, but the matching pyjamas. The models for it look so good together, and pororo reminds him of Kyungsoo, all cute and squishy.
Tao whines and tugs at the back of Kris's seat. It doesn't move much, because he's nearly too tired to function, but he gets the message across anyway. Kris jolts up in shock.
"Tao?" Kris yawns and swivels his chair to face the kid."Go sleep, I'll be along soon." He ruffles Tao's midnight-black hair while Tao snuggles in to the touch. He almost forgets his main mission right then and there, in the favour of just sleeping, but a sleepy glance at the screen pushes him right on track again.
"No~" Dad, I want that." He jabs a tubby finger at the side of the screen. Like clockwork, Kris’s head follows it to the pink-green advertisement.
It’s a bit annoying to him, actually. He’d been staring at it for the past one hour, on and off, since there was nothing else to look at anyway. The model mom isn’t all that pretty, to be honest, and the kid’s not even as cute as, say, Chanyeol, or Kai. The pyjamas are adorable, though.
A picture of Kyungsoo wearing them swims in front of him and he cracks a weak smile. Suho would be ecstatic about getting parent-children wear.
“We can- we can wear them, and Kyungie would love them too, so we can buy twelve of them, and then- everyone, everyone’s happy!” Tao makes a sweeping semi-circle above his head with his hands at the end of his sentence, and promptly loses his balance on the bed, where he’s perched on.
“Careful there, Taozi.” Kris picks him up from the soft cotton landing, turns around, and shuts his laptop with a push.
“But if I buy the pyjamas, you all have to do something for Suho appa and me.” Kris smirks and puts Tao back in bed.
“What?”Tao half-yawns and clutches tighter at Kris.
Kris pretends to think for a few moments while Tao lets out cute little whimpers, squirming as Kris tucks the covers under him.
“No more teasing Kyungsoo about his pororo eyes or Kai’s skin, okay?”
Tao smiles sleepily and nods. He doesn’t really do those anyway; it’s known among the kids that Kyungsoo actually likes his eyes, and Kai loves his skin colour. Makes him special, he says.
The bed dips as Kris climbs in beside the small lump known as Tao. He pecks Tao’s forehead softly.
“I’ll buy them in the morning, okay?” He says just as Tao drifts off to sleep.
And when the clothes finally arrive, Kyungsoo insists on wearing them for the next three days.
