OT12 ((Krisho)) 595 words.

It’s a lovely day to be out with the kids. The sun’s shining, the snow on the ground is barely thick enough to cushion them if they fall, the parents sit at one side talking about boring grown-up stuff, and it’s snowing.

Wait, no, scratch that. It’s hailing.

The kids squeal as small blocks of ice pelt down upon their thick winter clothing. It doesn’t really hurt, but they’ve never seen actual hail before.

Kai gasps and picks up one of the fallen ice blocks.

“This raining got ice cube!” He screams and chucks it at his nearest brother, who just so happens to be a very confused Lay.

“Get inside!” Kris hollers from where he’s sitting with Suho. They both run across the large snowy field, herding the kids to shelter while trying their best to cover their faces.

The ten children giggle and scream and keep on throwing mixtures of hail and snow at each other, uncaring of Kris’s or Suho’s yells. Well, mostly Suho’s.

“The raining! It drop, drop drop.” Sehun giggles as Kris scoops him up to plop him under a shelter.

“Like grapes.” He muses thoughtfully on the bench after Kris hurriedly leaves to collect the other children.

“Chanyeol! Don’t eat the ice!”Suho wails. Kai in one arm, Chen in the other, and Tao wrapped around his leg, he waddles over to Chanyeol in an attempt to scare him with his parent-y aura so he stops chewing on the fallen ice.

But since when has his disciplinary tactics worked. Chanyeol continues to hack at the ice with his teeth while running away from Suho.

But then he runs right into Kris’s arms.

“Woah there, buddy.” Kris pulls the saliva-coated hail out of Chanyeol’s fingers and flings it onto the ground. “It’s just ice.”

Chanyeol whines as Kris carries him up in his arms and reaches for Tao with his free hand. Tao giggles and latches on to Kris’s arm instead of Suho’s leg. Suho breathes a sigh of relief as blood rushes back into his cold feet.

“Is that all of them?” Suho pants. “Oh my God, I can’t keep track, they keep running around.”

Kris stands there as Suho’s armrest while his eyes sweep the sheltered area to make a headcount of their children. He tries to ignore the fact that most of them seem to be chanting a satanic-sounding tune in a circle around Kai and tallies up the total amount of kids to six.

“We’re missing four?!” Kris bellows right into Suho’s ear. Suho winces and shuffles away, muttering darkly.

“How-what- where- FOUR?” Kris starts freaking out right then and there. “Quick, call the police! Call the ambulance! Call your mom! Call my-”
 

“Shush.” Suho kicks Kris in the to get his attention. He’s tired from all the chasing and somewhat miserable that no one actually listens to him. “Look here. Six under the shelter, two here-“ Suho jiggles the two kids in the protective hold of both his arms. “And two in your arms. Ten. We’re good to go.” Suho pats Kris’s reassuringly with his foot, since he can’t use his arms.

Kris blinks. “Oh.” And blinks some more. “Oh.” A hot pink blush melts up into Kris’s cheeks.

Suho nods gravely. “Oh indeed. I think we all need to go home and sleep. I’m driving.”

He only gets blank nods from Kris and after a sigh, Suho starts shepherding them all, adult and children, back to the hail-stricken car.

Kris stays silent the rest of the trip home, cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
