__________________________                           ___________

I was the first one to step out of the sleek, black car, followed by the girl I’m currently dating, Yuri, and my mother who forced me to be here in the first place, saying that I should ‘try to touch back’ my past .I hastily agreed to go because I know where that conversation was going – towards my accident. And I hate talking about it.  I thinned my lips as Yuri clung unto my arm. We entered the lobby of the hotel and went into a huge hallway that contained the door towards the venue of the wedding.

My mother encountered a few friends along the way. I stopped walking to wait for her but she ushered us in.

“Congratulate Luhan for me,” she whispered then turned back towards her friend.

“Who?” Yuri asked.

“Luhan,” I said shortly.

“Do you know him?”

I bit my lip and said, “Well, I used to.”

A young man guarded the door. He had a clipboard in hand that, in my opinion, made him look older. He was so engrossed in the clipboard that he barely looked our way as we neared the door and Yuri had to clear to get his attention. He suddenly looked up and gave Yuri a flirty smile. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as Yuri smiled back. She loved attention.

I cleared my throat and he finally looked at me. He straightened his posture and demanded my name.

“Kris Wu, and I have a guest with me,” I said.

The guy’s eyes widened – something that I was used on seeing on people.

“Kris Wu? As in the actor from-”

The poor guy didn’t get to finish his sentence because Yuri snapped him off, “Yes, he is. Now can we enter?”

The guy quickly looked down and pretended to be looking for my name. Or at least I thought he was pretending. After a few seconds, he looked up with an uncertain expression and stammered, “T-There’s no Kris Wu here, sir.”

I gave him my mother’s name and he let us enter, opening the enormous, double doors that lead towards the reception. As we stepped forward, the door closed behind us and I swear the whole room got quiet and I could feel their stares on me, if I were not used to it, I would cower down and run away but I am so I kept my head held high as I walked towards the couple.

Yuri tightened her hold on my arm and whispered, “They’re staring.” She didn’t say it like she was insecure or nervous, in fact, she sounded excited and she loved every moment of it. After all, she loved attention.

We finally reached the newly wedded couple who looked up at our arrival. The guy, who I assumed was Luhan, brightened and stood up to give me a ‘man hug’ but he stopped halfway when he saw my face, which I knew all too well was wearing either a blank or cold expression.

“Wufan,” he said.

I nodded and extended my arm, “Congratulations on your wedding.”

He smiled slightly and pointed at Yuri, “Are you going to introduce me?”

I smirked at Yuri before looking back at him and said, “No. She’s just nothing.”

I heard a scoff from beside me and I smirked even more. “If you don’t mind, we’d like to go to our table and settle down.”

Luhan put his hands in his pockets and said, “No, I don’t mind.”

I nodded and turned my back on him.

“Why didn’t you introduce me?” Yuri whined as we sat on a vacant table.

I nonchalantly picked the wine glass with water on it and took a sip. “He’s married. He’s not interested in you.”

A blush went on her face. She didn’t say anything after that.

We stayed quiet for a few moments when I saw two ladies approaching his table. One of them was wearing a purple dress that showed her slim figure and had her hair bunched up on her head. The other one had a slightly tanned skin, long wavy locks and red dress. The girl with the purple dress boldly sat on the chair opposite mine while the other hesitantly followed suit, Yuri threw them a disgusted glare. And I suddenly had an idea on what they wanted.

“So Kris-“she began but I rudely interrupted her with a “My next fan signing is next week. Don’t ask for my autograph here, I’m enjoying the privacy.”

Both of them looked taken aback. They sat there with their jaws wide open and huge eyes. Then the girl with the red dress stood up and apologized, “We’re sorry for bothering you.”

She stood up and subtly pulled the other girl from her chair. I waved at them dismissively as I watched their retreating figure.

Even with that weird encounter, I had met those two ladies somewhere – a movie premier, maybe. I couldn’t point a finger on it yet but no matter how much I tried to keep that feeling buried deep down on my head, a voice kept nagging me that I was supposed to remember them. I was the first one to step out of the sleek, black car, followed by the girl I’m currently dating, Yuri, and my mother who forced me to be here in the first place, saying that I should ‘try to touch back’ my past .I hastily agreed to go because I know where that conversation was going – towards my accident.
