“You won!!”

I stood there, mouth agape at the sight of him.

There’s confetti everywhere, those falling shiny bits of paper, coiling down the ground. The crowd so noisy, cheering and celebrating something that I have no idea about. There’s a big float, with huge balloons, and people standing there to what seemed like hosts or MCs. The whole scene seemed eventful and I was confused, wondering who won—it’s either me or him, no one else.

The prize—it shocked me just knowing what it is, even though no one told me about it, I just… know. Seeing him before my eyes, not knowing who took victory between us—not remembering who exactly was. But my feet moved closer, and closer.

Am I getting the prize? Or am I the one giving?

The noise from behind sounded nothing but loud cheers and whistles each time I move an inch. But I stopped, still looking at those eyes, sitting, and waiting, that smirk that pretty much caused it all. He seemed confident, and unmoving, waiting patiently…

It seemed like either one of us went on a race, though I can’t particularly tell what sort of contest we’re in to. But all I remember is that everything happened precipitously. A momentary juncture of events… fleets so clearly in my mind.

Is this one of his prerogative to claim it? Or, am I really just giving it up?

My first kiss.

And before I made that last move, before my lips met with him, everything stopped. My eyes blinked, sitting up from my bed as rays of light flickered through my eyes.

It was a dream. Everything was a dream. Yet it reminded me of one thing, something that happened a few months ago. And it made me weak all of a sudden, how it’s hunting me because I’ve probably forgotten all about it. I don’t know why it’s necessary but now I realize what my dream meant…

“I still owe him a kiss,” I whispered.
