The Curtain Rises

Description

Best friends. That's all you and Kevin Woo have ever been and ever will be. You were certian niether of you could accumulate those feelings for one another. No, the two of you have been through too much and acted more like siblings than friends anyway.

He's always had an interest in drama. Signing up for classes and auditioning at ever production he could. He was very talented, to say the least, never failing to get the part he wanted. This time he was Romeo for your school's play, the obvious candidate out of three. After a lot of pestering and pleading on his part you agree to audition for the play as well.

So, after a few weeks of practicing after shool and weekends for hours on end, you audition to be Juliet.

It was all worth it in the end, not that practicing was a burden. If anything you enjoyed it, Kevin was a great teacher. All you were concerned about was the odd feeling in the pit of your stomach. It would always resurface whenever Kevin was around. Particularly when he was close. That made acting as the "star-crossed lovers" just a little more difficult.

But, your friendship was solid. It wasn't like this-whatever it was could get in the way of that.

Even if you haven't felt this way since your crush on him all those years ago.

It was probably nothing. It couldn't be anything.

No. You were best friends. Nothing more, nothing less. That's how it'd always be.

And that's how it's going to stay.

It has to.

But... What if it didn't..?

Foreword

You've never really been one for plays, or acting in general. Yet, you're best friend, Kevin Woo, manages to convince you to join the school play. With just you're luck it's Romeo and Juliet, and guess who's Romeo. Still, you try your luck and audition to be Juliet. It can't be that bad, not after practicing so much with Kevin beforehand.

Of course, you've never had this feeling about Kevin either.

It wasn't like you had a crush on him, no definitely not. He was like a brother to you, how could you like him? It was just... A feeling that you couldn't quite explain. Hopefully that doesn't make the kissing scenes more uncomfortable than they have to be.

That was just a mess of awkward you'd rather not deal with.

Maybe that's why you weren't avidly in plays and dramas.

But, the show must go on.

Wish yourself luck.
