Looking back and forth between the two men, you literally felt the electricity. The atmosphere was tense and you felt like you can actually cut the tension with a butter knife. You cleared your throat to get their attention and it took a few seconds before their eyes finally looked at you.

You gave a nervous giggle and looked at Taeyang. “Taeyang, this is my best friend T-“ Before you could introduce him, TOP cut in and did it himself.

“I’m Choi Seung-hyun.” He said tensely. He didn’t even offer his hand out in greeting to Taeyang and you looked at him, irritated with his actions. Elbowing him lightly on his stomach, you glared at him to remind him that he promised you to be open-minded.

TOP gave a deep sigh and reluctantly held out his hand to Taeyang. Taeyang gave a tight smile and him and grabbed his hand to shake it.

“My name is Dong Youngbae but I prefer to be called Taeyang.” He said. They both, once again just stood staring at each other. It was like they were analyzing each other, critiquing and trying to find something they do not like.

You looked at their connected hands and your eyes couldn’t help but bulge out in surprise. The veins in both of their hands were bulging and you could see that their muscles were tense. It seemed like they were giving each other an extremely firm hand shake, trying to get the other to let go first of the tight grip.

Having enough of their pissing fight, you put your hands on their connected hands and swiftly broke the firm contact. You were seriously getting irritated with the way the two were acting. Couldn’t they act like decent human beings and at least pretend to get along. It was like pulling tooth to get the two guys to say more than two words to each other.

Glancing at them, you noticed the narrowed look that TOP was giving Taeyang, as if he was warning him with something. Shaking your head at this, you took Taeyang’s arm and started to drag him towards the door of your apartment.

“We’re going now.” You said as you turned around to open the door.

TOP’s gaze immediately snapped to your arm holding onto Taeyang and immediately he tensed up. His eyes were burning, staring intensely at the contact and waiting for you to immediately let go and stop touching the other man.

Taeyang instantly noticed his reaction and he couldn’t help but smirk. He didn’t like the way TOP was acting as if he owned you. From the moment he entered the building, TOP had been making it clear who you belonged two. From casual touches, to more obvious ones like putting his arms around you, TOP tried making it clear that you belonged to him. His barely restrained dislike for Taeyang was clearly on his face and the man barely did anything but glare at Taeyang.

Taeyang was having an open mind and tried to think positively of TOP and try to understand him a bit because he was your best friend, but he could not. TOP was being ridiculous with the way he was treating him, like he was a criminal stealing something from him.

Noting the gloating, almost prideful look on Taeyang’s face, a murderous look suddenly appeared on TOP’s face. He did NOT like this guy one bit. Not one bit. He thought that you needed to let go of this guy’s arms immediately so he could pound the crap out of him.

What the is giving him the right to give me that look. ing head. Ji-eun is mine. My best friend. TOP seethed as he continued to observe the sickening look on Taeyang’s face.

“Don’t worry TOP, I’ll take care of Ji eun really well.” Taeyang said teasingly, knowing it would get a rise out of the guy.

“It’s Seung-hyun to you. I never gave you permission to call me that. And I am fully expecting that. If one single hair on her head is harmed in anyway, you bet you damn ing I will hunt you down and rip you to pieces, Dong Youngbae.” TOP growled out.

You turned around and frowned at TOP. What was got him so strung up?

“What heck is wrong with you? Apologize to Taeyang right now!” You screamed out at TOP. Glaring at him, you crossed your arms and tapped your foot, waiting for him to apologize for his uncalled for comment. You expected better from TOP. He even promised.

After a few tense seconds of silence, Taeyang sighed and pulled on your arm.

“It’s alright Ji eun. I don’t need an apology. It was partly my fault for teasing him anyways.”

“Damn right you ain’t getting an apology from me. I meant EVERY ing word I said. My baby girl better be safe with you.” TOP responded.

“Damn it TOP! Stop it already! You’re getting me extremely angry!” You screamed out at him. Grabbing Taeyang’s hand, you stomped out the door, pulling him along with you. Slamming the door on the way out, you were fuming. That was a total disaster. TOP acted worse than he did when he met Chang-su.

You never let go of Taeyang’s arm as you both went down the building and walked to his car. Taeyang remained silent, not want to say anything that might cause you blow up on him.

When you reached his car, you let go of his arm and sighed. Rubbing your face for a moment, you turned to look at Taeyang with an apologetic look on your face.

“I really am truly, truly sorry about TOP. I don’t know what came over him to act so… rude.” You frowned a little at that. Taeyang just looked at you and stepped closer. Taking you face in his hands, you got you to look at him. He smiled gently at you and pressed his thump on the sides of your cheeks. His smile widened as he lifted your cheeks to make you smile.

“There. I definitely prefer a smile on your face.” He let go of your face which caused you to smile at him.

“Don’t worry about that Ji eun. It definitely isn’t your fault.” He pulled his keys from his pocket and opened his door. Walking to the passenger door, he pulled open your door and motioned for you to get in. Giggling lightly at this, you playful curtsied at him in gratitude.

“Why thank you sir. How kind of you.” You said in an extremely horrible impression of a dignified Englishwoman. He grinned back and circled his hands, bowing back at you as you took your seat.

“Anything for milady.” He said in an equally horrible impression. You both laughed at that. He closed your door when you were seated comfortably on you chair and walked to the driver side of the car. Pulling the car door open, he sat himself down and smiled at you.

He motioned for you to look at the back seat and you did. When you saw Lenny sleeping peacefully on the back seat, you had to stop yourself from squealing at the adorable image he made.

“When he saw me take out the leash and his other toys, he immediately knew that we were heading out to the park. He tired himself out from running in excitement this morning.” Taeyang explained. You nodded your head in understanding and after a few more seconds of looking at the cute sleeping Lenny, you turned to look at Taeyang and noticed that his gaze was on you. Blushing at that, you turned your body to face the dashboard.

Chuckling at your cute reaction, Taeyang put his keys in the ignition and started up the car. Pulling up to the road, he gave you one last look before he put his whole attention to the road.

“I understand TOP. I really do. It must be difficult having such a beautiful girl like you go off with another man.” He said seriously.

You shook your head at that. “TOP is just like that. He’s always been an extremely possessive and protective friend of mind. He acts like that because he cares a lot about me.”

Taeyang took his eyes off the road for a second to look at you. You hand a gentle look on your face as you said that about your best friend.

“I think he cares about you a lot. More than a friend should care about another friend.” Taeyang said truthfully. Snapping your head to look at him, you shook your head frantically.

“No, no. It’s not like that between me and TOP. Never. TOP doesn’t see me as anything other than a little sister. He’s been my best friend for 8 years so of course we are closer than other friends.”

Taeyang kept quiet as he continued to drive to the direction of the park. He didn’t want to comment about it anymore because he could see how it clearly bothered you.

Laughing to break the uncomfortable silence in the car, Taeyang started to talk about Lenny and the things he did when he figured out that they were going to the park. You started to relax once the topic of TOP was dropped. You two once again got into a comfortable atmosphere and did what you two have always done. Joking around, laughing, and talking about everything.

But to Taeyang, the previous topic was still stuck in his head. I don’t care what Ji eun has said. I have a sneaking suspicion that TOP may see her more than the best friend she claims they only are.
