It was after school time now, and before that we had Science and Maths lesson.

Ah, I will never understand why the teachers planned the lessons like this…

I rubbed my temples and turned behind to look at Ricky.

He was biting onto his pen, trying to solve the homework that our teacher gave.

“Oi, Ricky Ricky~” I pulled his sleeve.

“Oh? Seul Young, what is it?” He smiled after looking up.

“Let’s go to the mall~ we haven’t hung out since after the mini test we had last last week…” I pouted.

“Aigoo~ Arasso.” He patted my head as I smiled.

Hehe, my aegyo always works~ ^-^

Actually, I was the type of girl who NEVER, I shall say it again, NEVER ACTS CUTE.

I kinda hate it when girls try to act cute…especially those girls in class who are always trying to get Ricky’s attention.

But since that day when…Ricky’s hyung told me Ricky likes girls who can do aegyo, I tried my very best to act cute.

Every day, I will practice in front of my mirror, to perfect my aegyo of course.

After packing my bag, I turned to look at him.

Ah, he’s still trying his best on the question.

I looked at his expression and smiled, even a cheerful person like Ricky can make a troubled face like that.

I quietly sat beside him and waited for him to solve it.

Ricky doesn’t like to be interrupted when he’s thinking hard.

I looked at the question and tried to solve it too.

Ricky suddenly sat up straight and started writing.

He got it…?

Looking at the things he wrote, he really solved it!

“Finally…” He put down the pen and stretched.

“Good work.” I smiled at him.

He grinned.

“Can I have a kiss?”

“…?!”

“Here…” He pointed at his cheek.

“I need an energy boost…I’m strained…I have to have energy to shop with you.” He continued.

I blushed at his request.

Honestly, I didn’t expect this.

After blinking my eyes a few times, I moved in closer to him.

I’m going to try to control my butterflies in my stomach…

I kissed his cheek. It’s was like a peck.

Although he didn’t do anything, my face was starting to burn up.

“Ricky ah, ppali! Let’s go~” I put his stuffs into his bag and carried it with me, walking out the door of the classroom.

I tried to act as if it doesn’t affect me…but my heart was pounding like crazy.

“Coming…” Ricky ran after me.

On our way to the mall, we didn’t talk…and it made me even more nervous.

Maybe I shouldn’t kiss him…was he joking just now?

Argh…what should I do?! >.<

I sighed and Ricky noticed it.

“What’s wrong?” Ricky tapped my shoulder.

“…N-Nothing.” I stuttered, and have a quick glace over his face.

He pinched my cheeks and said, “No frowning~”

“Arraso…” I nodded.

I’m going to blush even harder if he does cute stuffs like this to me…

When we reached the mall, we did lots of stuffs like trying out clothes and buying snacks from the supermarket.

Sometimes, when Ricky complimented the dresses I wore, I struggled to fight the desire of buying all of them.

“Woah~ You look really nice!” I said.

“Really?” Ricky stood in front of the mirror admiring himself.

“Yah, the mirror is gonna crack soon…” I covered my mouth after saying that.

Oops.

A slip of a tongue, my real self appeared.

Ricky laughed and I was relieved, he didn’t get mad at me.

I have to stay cute!

When I was paying at the counter, he even teased me!

“Seul Young, you’re buying ALL of them? Are you buying to wear them for me?”

“A. NI. YO~…Besides, it’s not all of them…” I replied.

“Eyyy, it’s almost all of them.”

And also, at the supermarket…

“Which one~” I looked at the hot chocolate boxes.

Ricky put his chin on my shoulder.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“Ricky, help me-” I was shocked that his face was so near mine.

“…choose which one I should buy.” I turned to look at the boxes, trying not to blush.

“Buy both then.”

His warm breath on my neck…it felt good.

“But two will be expensive…”

“I’ll buy the other one for you then.”

“Thank you~~~” I smiled and turned to thank him.

Our faces were…just few centimeters away.

“Uh…Seul Young ah, I have to go the washroom. Here, go pay up first.” He gave me the money and walked away.

Did I do something wrong?

Aish, not gonna think about it anymore!

I paid up and sat at a nearby bench.

Why is Ricky taking so long? Did he get diarrhea or something…?

“Seul Young!” Ricky ran to me.

His lips pale and he was panting non-stop.

“Haa…Haa. Sorry, I’ve made you waited long for me.”

“It’s okay. Are you alright?” I said, worried.

“Yeah, I just need a few seconds.” He gave me an assuring smile.

“…Kay. Let’s go.” He said, offering me a hand.

We had to walk through a park to reach our houses.

Actually, we just lived few blocks away from each other.

“Ricky, what took you so long just now?” I asked.

“Oh. Right.” He stopped in his tracks.

“Hmm?”

“Here.” He took out a pink box and put it in my hands.

“My birthday isn’t even near-”

“Seul Young...” He interrupted me.

“I know it’s totally out of my character to do this but you’re a bit dense sometimes you know...” He spoke really quickly, and then he looked elsewhere.

I opened the pink box and saw a really pretty necklace.

It was a small heart shaped locket with a pink crystal inside.

I looked at Ricky and inhaled sharply.

“Be my girlfriend?” He said.

Tears of happiness filled my eyes and they were about to flow out.

“Wah~ You don’t have to cry-”

I hugged him tightly.

“You ! How long did you have take!?” I shouted and hit him on the back.

My real self…

“Mianhae…” Ricky hugged me back tightly.

“Ricky…” My tears still…

“I-I like my Seul Young the best. You don’t have to deliberately act cuter.” Ricky said, wiping my tears away.

“You knew…ah, my acting isn’t good is it?” I chuckled.

“You did well, but I could see you forced yourself. Don’t do that anymore. Arraso?”

“Ara…”

Thank goodness…

“Let me put it on for you.” He took out the necklace and puts it on me.

“Yeppeuda…”He smiled.

“You have good taste!” I said, looking at my necklace.

“Yeah, I do…Seul Young…” He grabbed my hand in his.

“Do you know when I fell in love you?”
“When?”

“The very first time we met…I couldn’t even work up the courage to speak to you first.” He sighed.

“Because Ricky is shy~ Right?” I cupped his face.

“Yeah…You understand me very well. And when you kissed me, I’ve made up my mind…”

“I’m going to make you mine.” He said looking at my lips.

“Rick-”

He leans in and as his face got closer, I could feel that I’ve stopped breathing…

I closed my eyes and waited.

It was soft…warm and very gentle, just like Ricky.

After I felt his lips left mine, I opened my eyes.

“Ricky…I have liked you from a very long time.” I confessed.

From elementary school, I have already had my eyes on him.

Till high school, we got into the same class and he was arranged to sit behind me…

I decided, if I couldn’t make him my husband, I don’t mind if we’re only friends.

“No wonder you said I took a long time…” Ricky hugged me again.

“I have really made you waited for me so long. It’s my turn to make it all up to you.” He said, giving me a kiss on the forehead.
