Chapter 3

Ruby Wine

4:02...Seriously?

Sungmin groaned quietly, falling back onto his pillow with a loud sigh. What had woken him up so early in the morning?

He felt Kyuhyun's arms tighten around his waist and Sungmin turned around, hoping the maknae was awake as well. Maybe Kyuhyun could sing him to sleep. That always helped.

"Kyu?" he whispered, staring at the younger boy. There was no response from the maknae's parted lips. The only movement from him was the slight rise and fall from his chest.

Sungmin smiled as he watched the other. Kyuhyun looked so adorable when he slept. He looked peaceful and sweet and calm. Just like his voice, Sungmin realized, when he sang.

Leaning foreword, and going as slow as possible in order not to wake the other up, Sungmin couldn't help but slowly brush his own lips against Kyuhyun's. The maknae stirred, just a little, but other than that, he was still again. The small movement that Kyuhyun had made, had dislodged a lock of golden-brown hair from his head, so Sungmin reached over and quickly fixed it, giggling a little. Once he started running his fingers through the other's hair, trying to fix his bead-head, he couldn't stop. His hair was just too soft.

"Cho Kyuhyun," he whispered softly, "I love you so much."

"Mmm. I love you too. Now go to sleep and stop playing with my hair." Kyuhyun grumbled, making Sungmin squeak in surprise. The maknae's eyes were still closed, and if anything, he appeared to be still asleep. The only difference now was the small smirk on his lips.

Sungmin lightly pushed the maknae, pouting slightly. "You scared me!" he protested.

Kyuhyun chuckled, his eyes still remaining closed. "Yeah well, how do you think /I/ felt when I woke up to someone tugging on my hair?" the maknae's voice was deeper with sleep, which made Sungmin shudder. He loved Kyuhyun's voice when he had just woken up. It was the iest thing in the world.

"Yah! I wasn't tugging on your hair! I was fixing it!"

"Hum...sure. Now, sleep. Some of us have schedules in the morning." Kyuhyun pulled Sungmin in closer to him, hugging him tightly to his chest. Sungmin squeaked again, surprised, but then relaxed into his boyfriend's arms. He smiled, his head nuzzled up against Kyuhyun's chin and his arms tucked between him and the other. He leaned up and kissed the younger's temple, letting his fingers trail down from his hair to his neck softly.

"Goodnight, Kyuhyun." Sungmin whispered after a minute of just lying there, listening to the other's heartbeat and breathe.

"Mm...Night, Minnie." Kyuhyun mumbled, already almost asleep again. "I love you."

"I love you too..." Sungmin smiled, wrapping his arms around Kyuhyun's neck and leaving a lingering kiss on his lips. "Sleep well."

There was no answer from the maknae. Either he had fallen asleep already or he was just ignoring him now.

Chuckling with amusement, Sungmin closed his own eyes, letting the rhythm of Kyuhyun's heart drag him back to sleep.

"Let's go get bubble tea!"

Kyuhyun sighed and rolled his eyes, letting the older boy drag him to the coffee shop down the road. He pretended to be annoyed with the otoher's antics, but he couldn't keep the smile from his face.

"Why is it that I always feel like the hyung when I'm around you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Sungmin turned around, stopping in his bouncing for just a second. The singer pouted.

"Only when I'm hyper!"

"Well...then that must be all the time then!"

"Ani!" Sungmin protested loudly, turning back around and dragging Kyuhyun foreword at a near break-neck pace. "...Only when I'm with you, then!"

"Also all the time."

"Aish! Just...be quiet!"

Kyuhyun chuckled and shook his head in amusement. He loved teasing Sungmin.

The blonde drug Kyuhyun in the coffee shop, immediantly running over to the counter to look at the menu. Kyuhyun didn't see why he bothered looking anymore. Sungmin was in here enough to have memorized the whole menu.

"Why do you even look at that anymore?" Kyuhyun voiced aloud his thoughts, coming to a stop beside Sungmin and peering over the other's shoulder. What kind should he get?

"Because!"

"Just because...?"

Sungmin bit his lip. "They have different flavors all the time!"

Kyuhyun laughed. "No, they don't! They haven't changed their flavors in five years, Min!"

Sungmin shoved him playfully in the chest. "Shut it!"

Telling Sungmin his order, Kyuhyun left him and made his way to a table. He slid into the seat and sighed, leaning his head against the seat.

He had another cold. His head was stuffed up, his nose wouldn't stop running, and worst of all, he had a cough. Because of the cough, his voice sounded like crap - which meant there was no singing for him. Not for at least a week. It was irritating him. He always got edgy when he couldn't sing.

"Hey! What are you doing? Sleeping? You're supposed to be hanging out with me!"

Kyuhyun opened an eye lazily, seeing Sungmin place their drinks on the table. He reached for his pinapple-flavored one and took a long sip. The coldness of the drink soothed his burning throat, at least.

"I'm sick, hyung. Let me die in peace." He grinned at Sungmin.

Sungmin flicked his forehead rather hard in response. "Screw you!"

"...Haven't you already done that?" Kyuhyun couldn't help but shoot back, a smirk on his face.

Sungmin blushed a bright red as he slid into his own seat, sitting across from Kyuhyun. "S-Shut up, Cho Kyu!"

"I'll shut up if you give me a kiss." Kyuhyun leaned foreword, resting his hand on his cheek. He wiggled his eyebrows a little. "What do you say?"

"In f-front of all these people?!" Sungmin stuttered, his face paler than usual. His eyes were wide.

"...No. In front of all the animals in the building." Kyuhyun snipped.

"Fine. You don't have to be so rude, mister." Sungmin was grinning though too. He wasn't mad. He never got mad at him. Or...not long, at least.

Kyuhyun and Sungmin leaned towards one another, their lips meeting halfway. It was a light, chaste kiss - but Kyuhyun appreciated it, nonetheless. Their was always something thrilling about kissing Sungmin; the numbers of years they had spent together as a couple had done nothing to dampen that feeling either.

"'Love you." Kyuhyun slumped back up against his seat again, picking up his drink. He took a slow sip, watching Sungmin for a reply.

The older man was too pre-occupied with chewing on tapioca beads to pay him any attention.

The maknae's lower lip jutted out in a pout.

And everyone said /he/ was evil.

Poor Sungmin, how scared he must have been D: & Kyuhyun too, he probably felt responsible for it... I'm glad he eventually found Sungmin! finding him in a crowd and in NY city nonetheless: fate always brings them together 8D
(and I agree with them, the man who pushed Sungmin deserves a good punch 'cause no one messes with Minnie!!!!!!)
