Under normal circumstances, Lu Han and I never would have met. Shidae High School was a big school, population 4500 students in 4 grades. It was completely possible for us to have gone four years without ever even seeing each other. I knew of him; everyone knew of him, but he would have never known of me.   You see, Luhan was what the girls at school called the total package. He was smart, he was athletic, he was rich, he was kind, and he was handsome. He was the lead singer of the popular school band, a rockstar in his own right, and he was a star player for the soccer team.    The day that we met, it was raining.    I had stayed after school late to develop some photos that I had taken for my advanced photography class. I had no umbrella, and no ride home. Other than cursing the gods with all my might, I tried waiting it out under the awning in front of the main office building. 40 minutes later, I decided that the rain...really was not about to stop anytime.   Deciding make a run for it, I popped up my hood, and sprinted towards the bus stop. I gave up almost immediately. There was no way I'd make it before I was totally soaked, none at all.    The sky was still dark, and probably was only going to get darker. Rain pelted down relentlessly, but thank goodness, the wind was kept to a minimal.   With a sigh, I slowed to a walk, accepting my fate. I was going to be completely drenched no matter what.    It was then that a shadow fell over me, and an umbrella shielded me from the rain. I recognized the face almost immediately. It was the most popular guy on campus, the most sought after Lu Han.    Great. The first time I meet the hottest guy face to face, I'm soaked to the bone and look like I had just swam the English channel.    On the other hand, Lu Han's hair was perfect, albeit a little windswept, and he blinked down at me with subtly kohl lined eyes. Let's be real; I, like the rest of the female population at Shidae high school, had a crush on him.    "Heading to the bus stop?" he asked, squinting down and giving me a closer look. "Do you..do you go to Shidae too?" He paused, and gave a rueful smile. "Well, obviously you do, since you're wearing the uniform. Sorry, I've just never seen you before."   Yeah, I thought, and even if you did, you wouldn't recognize me, all soaked like this.    His clear voice, once again, rang through my thoughts. "What's your name?" he asked.    Did I really have to answer that? I didn't want Lu Han remembering me as the girl with hair plastered to her face. But seriously, who can not answer him?   "Song Jieun," I muttered, looking down at my shoes and avoiding his eyes. Why was he even talking to me? He was probably just feeling sorry for me.    "Pretty name," he commented. "I'm Lu Han."   "I know."    Silence.   The atmosphere was so awkward, I wanted to smack myself. We were just standing in the middle of the road outside of the school gates, sharing an umbrella while rain splattered down all around us.    I almost stopped breathing when I felt Lu Han took my chin in his hands. With two fingers, he turned my face up so he could see it better. Still, I looked away. If I met his eyes, I might cry, or worse, faint.    "Jieun-ah."   It was the sudden use of the familiar name that made me look up. Why the hell was he talking to me as if he's known me for years when we barely met five minutes ago?   "Are you sure to go here?" he asked, tilting his head at the school behind us.    I nodded, confused.    "Huh...how come I've never seen you before? If I had, I would remember for sure." He was still gazing at my face, and I felt paralyzed, not knowing what to do.    "Uh...we're going to miss the bus," I finally muttered.    Wow, that was so intelligent of me.    Lu Han straightened up, and seemed to snap out of his trance. "Well then, shall we go?"   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   It turned out that Lu Han rode the same bus as me, and he sat with me, even though over half of the bus was empty. Suprisingly, he was easy to talk to, and seemed to enjoy conversing with me. If I hadn't already known that he was a nice guy, I would have thought that he was setting me up for some big prank. I was practically a nobody; why would the popular guy in school be willingly talking to me?   "Wait, you're in my grade too?" Lu Han exclaimed when I answered his question. He seemed shocked, amazed even. "How have I never met you before?"   My reply was a little cold. "For you, the school probably seems pretty small when everyone knows you."   "Ah, that," Lu Han let out a rueful chuckle, and ran a hand through his perfect brown hair. "You mean everyone thinks that they know me."   I couldn't help but ponder what he meant.    Lu Han's bus stop was before mine, and as he stood up, he shoved his umbrella at me.   "Here," he said, "my house is really close to the stop, so I can just run it. You take this."   I was about to object, but Lu Han had turned, and stepped off the bus without even so much as a goodbye.   I was left in utter confusion.
