Partners work together, rely on each other and are always by each other's sides no matter what.

The relationship between Shusei and Hotsuma was exactly like that- Minus the fact that Shusei had a big fat crush on the blonde guy.

But it seemed to him that no matter how he tried to convey his feelings to the other in a-sort of-romantic way, he'd always get a stupid reply from the other like 'partners stick together,' or 'I'm your companion, therefore I shall always keep an eye on you,'

It has annoyed the hell out of Shusei that he can't stand being alone with Hotsuma anymore. He kept avoiding him but it didn't go unnoticed from Hotsuma's eyes. He confronted Shusei in a corner when no one was around in their humongous courtyard. Shusei continued to avoid his eyes even when he was so close to him. Hotsuma had never been this pissed off at Shusei before. Ever since they were middle-schoolers, he had always treated him well. Though he had always relied on Shusei for comfort when he was younger, he wanted to be of use to him now that he was all grown up. But what can he do when Shusei keeps on hiding things from him.

"This isn't the first time you avoid me, Shusei! What's bothering you so much? You know you can always tell me anything," Hotsuma tried to control his temper as he saw his partner standing there quietly, not willing to reply to him.

It frustrated him so much to see his beloved partner feeling so down, yet he can't do anything about it.

He punched the wall with all his force, his knuckles hurt and bled a lot which stained the concrete wall. He didn't think he'd be receiving any sort of reply from Shusei so he turned away from him, mumbling a silent Sorry and walked away from him.

Shusei stood there, wondering whether or not he should chase after the blonde and help him bandage his hand. but then he shook his head rapidly, reminding himself that Yuki was still there to comfort and heal Hotsuma.

I'm really useless here, aren't I…?
