It was a moment of silence. No one was breathing word. Everything was being read by each other’s eyes. She looked at her friends who shows no sign of “yes” or “no”. It was her own choice to make. She stared at Kris, he also had no expression either. What does she say? After a moment of pondering…..

“Onew oppa, I’ve always wanted to be part of your life. I had a crush on you for the longest time and now that my dream is finally coming true, I should be saying yes but something deep within me is telling me no - it’s not the right time nor if it will ever be,” she finally replied.

She closed her eyes for second and then re-opened them.

“I’ve always told myself in the past that if I couldn’t be part of your life, I would settle for a friendship,” she continue to say.

“Is it because of him?” Directing the question toward Kris.

Luna frowned.

“Why would this be about Kris?” she asked in confusion.

“Since the two of you met, you’ve been with him non-stop. What else do you expect any of us to think?” he asked.

“We’re just …..” thinking the best way to phrase it.

“We’re friends. We have a connection that is unfamiliar to the both us. I can see her eyes lit up once I appear and the same goes for me, but I cannot interpret the feelings either,” Kris finally spoke.

“And we’ve only known each other in a short time - please don’t make a new friendship turn into something ugly oppa,

I know you’re a better person than that,” Luna added.

“Are you sure the two of you are only friends?” Onew asked.

Both Luna and Kris nodded in unison which causes even more confusions for her friends who thought they were more - or could be more.

“I’m going to go to class, I’ll see you in there,” Kris told Luna as they bid there farewell to her group.

“Oppa, I’m sorry,” Luna finally said.

“It’s alright. It took me a lot of courage to say it but at the end I’m glad I got it out - I will always be here for you and if you need anything, you can come to me,” Onew added.

Luna feels really bad.

“I may not have the connection he has but if you ever need an ear to listen to your worries - I’m your friend and I will give you any support I can - remember that,” he added.

She nods.

He pulled her into a hug and bid them farewell since he had to meet an advisor. She looked at her friends who had no idea on how to handle the situation.

“What happened this weekend? You changed your mind, why?” Victoria finally asked.

“Remember Aunt Nam?” she asked her friends.

“The vicious snarky lady who has no respect for your parents?” Krystal asked.

“The one who helped with the purchase of the restaurant and gloated that without her, your family would not have that place, right?” Amber asked.

She nodded sadly.

“What happened?” Victoria asked in a worried tone.

“All this time, I didn’t know that she was holding the contract over their heads to get money from them, she never gave my parents the contract even though they’ve paid her portion to her over the actual amount they really owed her,” she answered sadly and almost in tears.

“While I was there in the back chopping vegetables for the soup, both my sister and I heard some shouting so we went up front to see what was going on - she was there being rude and snobbish to our parents. Threatening to ruin our restaurant image by sitting there calculating our daily income,” she continued.

“She thought we were lying. She wanted some money but we didn’t have it since school just started and it went toward both our school fees, so we really didn’t have any left over. She didn’t believe us. She put us down like we were dirt poor,” she muttered shakily.

“From then on, I told myself I would do what I need to do and succeed so my parents will never have to suffer that kind of humiliation ever again,” she finally said.

Then her hand went up the her lotus necklace that her friends finally see it - she took a deep breath.

“If she couldn’t get money, she wanted something that she could pawned off, so she came after me and wanted my necklace,” she added.

“It’s a beautiful necklace but why would she think she could get money off a charm necklace?” Sulli asked.

Luna shrugs.

“She said it was probably worth million since it’s one of a kind,” Luna said with some uncertainty.

Victoria took a closer look.

“It’s beautiful and I’ve never seen a design like this before, maybe she is right but where did you get this necklace from?” Victoria asked.

“It’s from Kris,’ she said softly.

All eyes were wide opened.

“Then she was probably right,” Victoria agreed.

“So she came after your necklace, what happened? You still have it on so that means she got something else?”

Amber asked.

“She did. She aimed for my necklace but Bo came out of nowhere and pushed her down, tied her up until Kris and his friend arrived,” Luna answered cautiously.

“Who is Bo?” Amber asked.

“Bo is on Kris’s personal security team who happened to be watching me from afar - if it wasn’t for him, I don’t know what would’ve happened,” Luna answered.

“So Kris is rich, owns nice cars, has a security team, buy you nice designer stuff - just who is Kris?’ Krystal asked bluntly.

“Someone who I should be thankful too, he settled the contract issue for my parents and got my snobby aunt out of the way for good hopefully,” she finally said.

“How did he do that?” Victoria asked.

“He has this controlling aura about him - he tells you and you just do it. That’s what happened. He asked her to sign it over, she did it and gave her an envelope with a written and signed check, then got a warning from his friends - poof - she was gone,” Luna replied.

“Wow. So you spent the weekend with him?” Amber asked.

“No, I only saw him for like thirty minutes and he left for another meeting,” she said.

“He went all the way down there to help you out with a family issue, unbelievable,” Krystal added.

“Then he told off that snob here to back off,” Sulli added.

“But he remained calm when Onew proposed a new relationship level to you,’ Amber added.

“I don’t know about you Luna but I think you’ve got yourself a keeper hon,” Victoria chirped in.

“But I think you guys got it all wrong, he doesn’t see me like that,” Luna said while feeling a lot of frustration.

“Then you better clarify it. Otherwise you might as well give Onew a chance too, it’s not like he avoided you on purpose either,” Victoria suggested strongly.

Luna sighed.

“Go to class, we’ll see each other for lunch,” Amber suggested.

Victoria walked with Luna until she had to get off on the second floor. She walked up to her class and saw that Suho and Kris were studying there notes. She sat in the desk next to Kris who smiled at her when she got settled.

“Everything okay?” he asked.

Luna nods.

He moved her strand of hair behind her ears and held her face for a millisecond and admiring her eyes.

“It’ll be okay. Don’t think about it too much,” Kris said softly.

“I just feel really bad for Onew oppa - I don’t know if I made the right choice,” Luna whispered.

“If you really want to know, then go for it, follow your heart, your dream - it’s what you’ve always wanted, right?” he assured her.

“But I don’t want to hurt anyone else either,” she whispered.

“We’re friends. I understand. If you want give him a chance then do it - no one is stopping you,” he added.

She turned down to look at her textbook. How was she supposed to ask if he had any other feelings for her?

“So you won’t mind if I decided to date Onew?” Luna asked out of curiosity.

“I didn’t say I wouldn’t mind - I said if you want to then go for it, I wouldn’t stop you from following your heart,” he added.

Luna frowned.

“We’ll talk more later about this, right now let’s get ready for class,” he suggested.

She nodded to close the door on the topic.

On their way to the café, only Suho walked with her since Kris had to stop at one of the professor’s office. She sees
Luhan and Sehun waiting at the entrance for them.

“Hi Luna’ they both said.

“Hi, where are the rest?” she asked.

“Their class is running a bit late today but they’ll be here soon,” Luhan answered.

Luna nods. The four of them entered the café and the three needed to use the restroom so she walked over to where
her friends except Victoria were already sitting. Onew was there too.

“Where is Victoria unnie?” Luna asked.

“She had to go see her professor from the first period about something but she’ll get here soon too,” Luna replied.

They ordered food and waited for Victoria. Suho and the rest of the boys were already sitting at the table next to them but in their own small world.

The girl from this morning appeared again along with her group of snobs. They surrounded their table.

“I just wanted a closer look, to be honest I’ve gotten nothing to lose, since you got nothing,” she said sarcastically.

“Look, didn’t he already say to back off this morning,” Onew threw at her.

“Shut up. None of your business,” she shouted.

“Look, I don’t
