The Year I Met YouThings have been slow around Chicago. The depression got even harder, and money had grown even tighter around the city. A handful of rich folks, who were at the height of their careers before the stock market crash, dropped their status and wealth in no time. Their rank in society was wiped out, and they became no more than mockery and a subject to ridicule by people who were once their peers.
It was only during this period of time that the abuse of drugs began to heighten and take hold of the city. Underground mafias and gang leaders began to meet with one another to create illicit deals and sustain good relationships with one another during this difficult period.
In order to live in a country such as America, one must form allies with unlikely ties. However forming an ally is not an easy job… but earning an enemy certainly is.
Kris knew that at this stage in his life that he had two choices. Either he continues to do what he’s been doing for the past few years and see how far he is able to get away with it or to just quit it all. Kris also knew that if he went with one of these choices, he could never look back on his decision, no matter how hard it is…

It was around noon when Kris met up with Charles Walker, the undercover detective that he had hired to recover as much information as he could in regards to Kris’s father’s death. This has been their third meeting together and this was the final meeting that will ultimately decide which path Kris should go in life.
Charles wore the same olive trench coat he wore a few months back when he first met up with Kris. This was their third meeting, but judging from his character, Kris could see that Charles was a very precise and capable man. He had patience, something that Kris is still learning to have.
