Chapter 14: Soomin confronts f(x)

I slipped back into the main hall quietly, my mind spinning with disbelief and horror. Everyone had been right all along – I should have just left it alone, I should have just let the police do their job…I should have been a better sister. For so many years, my grades had dominated my life and I had neglected my little sister, the baby of our family. How could I?

No. Through my simple decision to concentrate on my studies, I ended up studying in the library while my sister was getting abused by the love of her life; I ignored her sobs from the room next door when I was revising for my exams. But it was all in the past, and I’d made up for it afterwards; none of it mattered anymore.

I almost couldn’t blame her for everything; Sunggyu (and Tiffany) had humiliated and insulted her to the point of abuse – her emotional attachment to him made everything so much worse, and left evident scars.

Luna’s blonde hair stood out from the crowd; as I expected, Victoria, Sulli and Amber were with her, and Krystal was nowhere to be seen. I cursed inwardly before approaching the four girls. Sulli spotted me first, a scowl quickly appearing before she alerted Victoria.

“Hello, Soomin.” Victoria greeted me coolly.

I gave her a thin smile. “Where’s my sister?”

Victoria’s gaze flickered to Amber and Sulli before she answered, “Not here.”

“And I don’t suppose you have any idea where she might be?” With no answer, I shook my head ruefully. “Well, I just needed to ask you a question.”

“Yes?”
