6. Cat

Not only were aff(x)tionates stunned by the random bear in f(x)’s teaser photos, but so were fellow celebrities. SM Entertainment was considered one of the pioneers of the kpop scene today – they set the latest trends. How do you think BaChan or ShinYoung came about? If one thing came out of kpop, it was (alleged) gayness. CNU thanked them mentally (wait, what did he just think?!)

It was little surprise that Jinyoung woke up one day with Gongchan on all fours on his bed. Normally, this meant breakfast was long overdue or Sandeul/Baro got into trouble again or CNU was scaring him by suddenly becoming overly affectionate (all were usually resolved by breakfast).

However, it was not often that Gongchan dressed in a black shirt, black jeans, a white bib, paws and cat ears.

Gongchan turned around halfway to look at the clock. 8.14 AM.

Oh, and a long tail.

“He’s awake!” Gongchan yelled over his shoulder.

“Excellent!” CNU answered diplomatically and opened the door. Sandeul and Baro were at musical rehearsal and variety show recording respectively. It was Jinyoung’s turn to sleep but nooo, the concept of sleep was lost in celebrities. He just wished it were for more plausible reasons.

“Okay,” he sighed, switching to leader mode. He his stomach and pushed himself up to a sitting position. “Someone tell me why Channie is wearing paws from T-ara’s Bo Peep Bo (are you old enough to watch that MV?!)”

“Yes I am,” Gongchan said in an affronted tone, giving Jinyoung a friendly shove.  

“Don’t swipe him with your paws, Gongchannie,” CNU reprimanded lightly. “Anyway, to answer your question, I covered his eyes during the *cough* -shakes *cough*.”

“What?”

Jinyoung looked supremely uninterested, gazing at Gongchan’s outfit in bemusement. He put the question simply, knowing CNU’s tendency to turn anything into a full-length documentary. “What are you wearing?”

“A cat suit!” Gongchan got to the floor. CNU widened his eyes and murmured a soft “OH” before laughing so hard he had to hold on to the door for support. Gongchan ignored him. His voice raised excitedly. “You see, f(x) is becoming creative with their outfits. We should too! The days of luminescent shoes are of yesterday! The dawn of animal suits have arrived!”

“You mean like that time Big Bang dressed like animals?”

“It’s made a comeback! Hyung, hyung, the kpop industry has gone a full circle in fashion! WE’RE LOOKING AT HISTORY IN THE MAKING!”

“How is it that he is always so adorable and quiet in front of the camera, but at the dorm he’s just nuts?” Jinyoung asked CNU privately, as Gongchan continued his fashion monologue with hysterical enthusiasm.

CNU shrugged. “Maknae syndrome. I heard Super Junior’s Kyuhyun-sunbaenim and 2AM’s Jinwoon-sunbaenim have the same illness.”

“Ah.”

“…so we should go as CATS! I’ve done some research; CATS the musical is really popular, and the outfits we could be wearing will be so cute! We’ll spawn merchandise! B1A4 Cat Ears ™, B1A4 Aegyo Whiskers ™, B1A4 Retractable Tails ™ - we could make a duck line for Sandeul-hyung too!”

“Goodnight, Channie.” A pillow over the head signalled end of discussion.

“He doesn’t like it,” CNU told Gongchan as soberly as he could, while holding his sides that hurt from too much laughter.

Jinyoung opened one eye. “Why are you here, encouraging him anyway?”

 “He asked for help with his tail and I was curious what he was going to do.”

“You could have saved me some trouble and said No.”

CNU put a hand to his chest and gasped. “But he was so cute!”

“SEE!” Gongchan said proudly, pointing a paw in CNU’s direction. “He’s fallen for it and he’s a guy! Imagine the fangirls!”

“CNU-hyung doesn’t count, Channie. And NO.”
