"What?" Ren stared at the leader his eyes growing wider when he realised that it wasn´t a joke ... he would have given anything to make it a really really misplaced and stupid joke.

"What does that mean?" Baekho spoke. His voice was slightly higher than usual. JR looked at the others and bite his lower lip before continuing:

"I heard one of the doctors talking about a disease in the nerve system. They want to keep you here and run a lot of different tests and so on... " JR raised his head and looked at the maknae with a sad look in his eyes. Ren felt like he was already sentenced to death. Before he could say anything Baekho had rose to his feet and pointed at JR, his face showing nothing else than pure horror.

"No... no it can´t be right... Ren is Ren. His not sick it´s just a bit stress! Say that he will get home with us later... he will, I swear! The manager told us so!" then Baekho hugged Ren so tight, that Ren couldn´t breathe.

"Baekho hyung" He patted the olders shoulder and tried to loosen the grip but without any luck. He didn´t knew whether to feel overwhelmed by Baekhos loving gesture or sad because he caused the others pain.

"It can´t be, It really can´t be. He can´t leave us!" Baekho hid his face next to Ren´s shoulder.

"I´m not leaving, Baekho! Don´t talk like that!" Ren yelled frustrated and hit the slightly older boy. Aron placed himself on the edge of the bed and so did Minhyun making space to JR too, but the latter preferred standing.

"Auch! Don´t beat me. I´m just nervous for you" Baekho said and let go of Ren only to hold his hand instead. For once he didn´t smile at all. Aron took Ren´s other hand and it gently.

".... I´m sorry" Ren mumbled and looked at the others feeling trapped in this white room. All he wanted was to get home and sleep, maybe watch some TV or chat with the others.... and he definitely wanted to see Baekho smile again. He hated when he didn´t smile because it always meant that something bad had happened or was going to happen.

"Smile, Baekho" he said and tried to pull the slightly older one´s lips into a smile. Baekho couldn´t help but to smile and hugged him again, while he tried to push Aron away - but the oldest didn´t give up that easily, and one of their usual for fun quarrels about who Ren belonged to broke out.

"He is mine!" Baekho yelled and pointed at Ren. Aron smiled and pointed at Ren too.
"I´m the oldest, I say he is mine!"
Ren couldn´t help but to smile too - this was the NU´EST that he knew. The dorky hyungs that thought he was theirs and fought about it until he decided to stop them by telling them that he wasn´t a thing anyone could own.

An hour later, when they had all settled down again, the doctor came only to tell them nearly the exact same things as JR had already said. Ren couldn´t help but feel even more frustrated of how little information anyone could give him - and the doctor only made it even more clear that they wouldn´t let him go in the nearest future.

"We can´t let you go before we have examined you. Later today our will receive an MR scanning of your brain and after that we will decide what´s going to happen"

"What is an MR Scanning?" Ren asked trying to keep calm. He could feel Baekho the back of his hand gently and it helped him control his nervousness. He already hated this hospital, and this scanning sounded dangerous or at least really uncomfortable.

"It is a brain scanning that will hopefully show us some clear pictures of your brain in details. With that we will be available to see if your suffering from any brain injuries. If you have that could be the reason why you collapsed and cramped. We will also examine your condition in other ways to clarify whether your might suffering from epilepsy..." the doctor explained, and thereafter continued to list other possible illness that sounded more and more bizarre. Ren didn´t understand what half of the medicinal terms meant, but now he understood why this could take a hell lot of time.
 

The rest of NU´EST had to leave for a schedule shortly after the doctor had left, and the manager got pretty angry because they didn´t wanted to leave Ren at the hospital and tried to sneak him out with them.
After getting busted Ren tried to assure the others, that he was okay and that they should leave. In the end they only left when he promised them to buy them all a meal, when he got out of the hospital again.
 

Before the MR Scanning, a nurse kindly asked Ren if he had any metal objects on his body like piercings, watches and so on. Ren carefully removed a necklace and placed it on the table next to his bed before being followed to the examination room. The scanner was way bigger than Ren had imagined it to be. It looked almost as something taken from an alien movie in Ren´s opinion, because it consisted of a platform that could move into some kind of tunnel.

The doctors used a lot of time trying to explain for him what was going to happen and how important it was that he didn´t move because then the pictures the machine was taking would be destroyed and blurry. Ren just nodded and kept his pokerface the entire time imagine how scary it would be inside the tunnel. He had to remove his shirt because of a zipper that could affect the magnetic field the scanning used. Lying half on the platform didn´t make it easier for him to let the nurse adjust his position.
The nurse had a hard time getting him to lie in the right position on the platform because of that, but after nearly ten minutes she finally decided that the position was okay anyway. Then the platform was pushed into the tunnel and Ren´s view of the doctors got blocked.

He felt the claustrophobic feeling overwhelm him instantly. The tunnel began to make a loud sound that changed into different tones which all hurt Ren´s ears. The light in the tunnel made his eyes hurt but he remained in the stiff position trying his best to cooperate with the doctors so they didn´t have to do the entire thing all over again.

The examination took around half an hour, and when Ren finally got out of the tunnel, was he so confused because of all the sounds and the light, that he nearly couldn´t stand on his own feet.

"I´ll never do that again... never" he muttered to himself as he sank into a nearby chair and rested his head on his hand, while he tried to make the world stop spinning. How he would have wished the other members to be with him right now. It was a long time since he had felt so alone before - and he wasn´t even alone, all the people from the hospital was constantly around him although they didn´t speak to him that much.

While he rested in the chair the doctors looked at the pictures in another room, and within only an hour they delivered the result to him.

"Your brain seems completely fine. The scanning showed nothing to be afraid of" the doctor began and smiled with friendly professionalism to him. Ren instantly felt relieved.

I knew it, he thought. It was nothing that serious, why wouldn´t they believe it?!

"Does that means that I can go home now?" he asked hopefully already imagine himself surprise the others in the dorm later that night.

"No... " the doctor answered and looked at him over his heavy glasses. "We still want to run a PET Scanning, take some blood samples and make an epilepsy and migraine test on you"

Ren looked at him wanting so bad to yell "are you kidding me?" straight into the doctors face. It had only just begun....

I don´t know how well this was written, I have had so much to do lately with my graduation and so on. Normally I use many hours on each chapter, but this time I rushed a bit because I wanted the storyline to move on. I want to work with the nerve system, so I have read about the different types of brain scanning's but not really experienced it myself, so if there is anything incorrect, I´m sorry. My brother got a MR Scanning, but he said to me, that he don´t want to ever talk about it again.
