He observed her every time she visited the hospital garden – she looked weaker than the last time he saw her. He noticed how slow and careful her steps now were – how much weight she had lost and the dark circles under her eyes were more visible.

He never had the nerve to approach her – she was always with someone and sometimes she just looked unapproachable. He wanted to get to talk to her or at least hear her voice – directed to him. He wanted to paint her – in his eyes she was an angel – love at first sight? Perhaps.

“Tell you what?” She blinked, she didn’t know this man – she had seen him plenty of times in the garden but he was just some sort of artist who looked extremely lazy – she always caught him with a dazed expression on his face.

“Tell me your wish,” He whispered.

She froze and blinked at him once again before she shook her aching head lightly, “I don’t know you.” She responded.

“I’m here to give – tell me one wish –” She squeezed his hand back weakly.

“I wish not to die.”

He had a photographic memory – he was a little lazy though but he managed to capture one of her rare smiles and memorized it before he used oily paint and painted her with that beautiful rare smile against his basement wall. Every small detail of her face was traced on the grey wall, his eyes trailed after the lines as sad smirk danced on his dry lips.
