I Really Hate That Guy.

This Is Why I Hate Science

One thing is certain, You can't shake hands with a fist.

Tuesday came quicker than Key expected, and definitely quicker than his mental clock was set. He walked the halls groggily the next morning, blinking out sleep, wondering why exactly time passed so quickly even when you are, in fact, not having fun? He had been lying awake, worrying and fretting over his science grade, due to their teacher's happy chirp at the very last second of Science class that there would be a project.

A project.

Worth nearly three fourths of his grade.

Key wanted to rip his hair out.

And to make matters worse, the person sitting next to you was your partner.

Key didn't want to go to Science anymore. Hell, he didn't even feel like going to school anymore if he had to be partnered with Kim Jonghyun for a project. Especially one worth more than three fourths of his ing grade.

Key sat in the science classroom, tapping his mechanical pencil against his blank notebook, he sighed dully. His morning was the same as ever. Mom making breakfast, Onew arriving the minute after Key finished, and once again he made it to his classroom in the nick of time. Key looked around the room with a bored, bemused stare. In all honesty, he wasn't friends with anyone in this class. He had people he'd occasionally have small talk with, but no one like Onew or Minho.

Then, right as he thought that, in came Jonghyun strolling in briskly, trying not to capture too much attention. Of course, being the captain of the Basketball team didn't help him much on that. Key shook his head as people flocked around Jonghyun, scoffing at the ground.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sometimes, Jonghyun really hated people.

They were inconsiderate and they were too wrapped up in their own troubles to take a single moment and think 'Hey, maybe this person doesn't want this' or 'Hey, maybe I shouldn't do this because this person seems angry.' No, no one had the courtesy to actually take a look at Jonghyun. Not at the basketball player who everybody hung around. Not the boy who was always quick to make a joke. They just didn't seem to be able to. And it disgusted Jonghyun.

The moment he stepped in the Science classroom, all of his hopes of being able to slip by unnoticed faded, and people practically skipped up to him just like any other morning. Jonghyun hadn't come with Taemin, and looking around, he couldn't see the boy anywhere, either. But that didn't bother him. What bothered him was the fact that everybody -and he wasn't over exaggerating when he said everybody- was making a comment on the darkening bruise on his cheekbone.

"Did you get in a fight?"

"Who was it?"

"What happened?"

Jonghyun wanted to do what those people in the movies did- he wanted to shout "QUIET!" and just take a moment to himself while everyone stared in shock at his outburst. But, no matter how much he wanted to do it, and no matter that he wanted to do it every day, he knew it was something he couldn't do. Maybe actors had it easier, being able to do all of that and get payed for it, nonetheless. Maybe he'd become an actor. Jonghyun wanted to snicker at the thought.

But instead of shouting or laughing, Jonghyun replied like an adult talking to hyper children. "Nothing happened. I just fell." Jonghyun said quietly, and thankfully, the feedback was the students around him silencing themselves to be able to hear just what exactly he'd said.

A hand fell on his shoulder, and Jonghyun felt anger brew in his system. He wanted to slap that hand away and walk away from the chaos, but a murmur in his ear made him calm immediately. "Good morning, Jonghyun-hyung!" Taemin said cheerily, and he pushed Jonghyun through the crowd of people, who thankfully took the hint and returned to their seats, and as they approached Jonghyun's seat, Taemin whispered to him, "Tell me what happened later, Jonghyun. Okay?" Jonghyun glanced at the boy and couldn't help but return the child-hearted smile he flashed.

Jonghyun sat with a huff, and jumped as Key, who he hadn't noticed was already sitting there, began to talk. "Can't handle the attention?" Key said in a snappish voice. Jonghyun glared at the white board, refusing to submit to his games. Not today. He was wound by such a tight screen today it would be next to nothing for him to snap completely. And he didn't doubt that Key could accomplish breaking that string.

When Jonghyun didn't reply, Key made a noise that sounded like a grunt and or a scoff of confusion. His voice was quiet, barely above a whisper. "You're such a moody guy, Kim. Angry one moment and then a total wuss the next. Not much of a surprise, though, I guess."

Jonghyun's fists clenched under the table, and he couldn't hear the teacher as she begun to talk about the science project. "Shut up, Kibum."

"What're you talking about? Really, it's seriously like you're on your period." And when Jonghyun didn't reply again, Key scoffed. "You're so cocky! Thinking you're better than everyone else. You should really start living in reality."

Reality? Jonghyun knew reality. He knew the cruel, crude reality that he wished he didn't. "Shut your face, Kibum."

"Why dont you shut yours? You've already bruised it enough."

Jonghyun snapped.

He'd read books where that exact thing had happened, and he always thought it was a load of bull. Who just snapped? Who just lost their anger? Jonghyun had always thought that he wouldnt do anything of the sort. But now, being in the situation, he couldn't move fast enough. A clatter, a gasp, and the class turned to see Jonghyun kneeling over Key, who had a large, red mark on his cheek, and blood oozing from the side of his mouth. Key was immediately flustered at the sudden breach of attention, but Jonghyun didn't seem to notice one bit.

"I said, shut. Your. Face!" Jonghyun shouted angrily. Key's eyes narrowed, and he jumped up.

"What the hell's your problem?!" Key yelled right back. "No one sane just punches someone at random!"

"My problem? What's my problem? That I have to sit next to a guy like yo- Oh, sunova!" Jonghyun gasped as Key's own fist came flying, smashing right into his temple. Then, in a single second after stars exploded in front of Jonghyun's eyes, the teacher's voice carried to them.

"Boys! Kim Jonghyun! Kim Kibum! Go to the office right. Now." When the boys didn't move, the woman reduced to glaring with a venomous edge. "Now! I said."

Jonghyun didn't need another invitation. He was more than happy to go strolling right out of that classroom without another look back. But Key hesitated, then after that mere second of hesitation, he followed after Jonghyun, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.

And, as both of the boys made their way to the principal's office, they each thought only one thing.

I really hate that guy.
