EXO-M's Lu Han: BIRTHDAY SURPRISE?
On the night of EXO-M’s Lu Han’s birthday, April 20, 2012, SHINee bid their farewells to Korea for their Japanese promotions. But after their lonely goodbyes, SM Entertainment surprised a lot of fans to another mysterious video clip which focused on the birthday boy, Lu Han.
In the video clip, Lu Han was holding the white crystal ball he was holding in their MAMA Music Video, in which he saw the other members of EXO. But in this video clip, the white crystal ball didn’t show the EXO members, instead, a group of mysterious girls appeared, which weren’t clear to the viewer’s eyes because of the effect of the crystal ball. A lot of fans are expecting that this will be EXO’s female version, but the video ended showing a new name – "S Ori". SM launches countdown teaser for Korean-Chinese girl group
Minutes later after Lu Han’s mysterious video clip, SM’s homepage put up a pop-up timer, similar to EXO’s countdown teaser before that caused another excitement to the fans.
Representatives stated, “S Ori will be having the same marketing strategy as to what Exo did in the Korean and Chinese market. We can say that S Ori will be Exo's female version, but there will be a new flavor added up to this girl group.”
Due to the fans curiosity about the group’s name, the representatives explained, “S Ori is a short term for Sigma Orionis. If you look it up over the internet, S Ori is the first extra-solar free-floating planet discovered which has a significantly different behavior than that of the solar planets. That’s why it is still from Exo Planet (extrasolar planet). In terms of the girl group, this group rides with the flow of other groups, but they are different than what other groups give. S Ori as a free-floating planet are capable of free movement and are not bound to only one thing which means they are a contemporary band. S Ori also stands for 소리.(read as: sori; which means voice in Korea)"
