As I exited the door of my house, I inhaled the fresh air of the afternoon breeze. Daehyun, my boyfriend, asked me to go take a stroll together at the park. Lots of thoughts filled my mind while going there; he usually doesn’t invite me to anything. Unless, it’s our anniversary or any other special occasion. I walked rather quick as I realized I have reached my destination. Looking around a bit, I spotted Daehyun sitting on a bench near the playground.

 My face brightened and made my way to him. ‘ He loves wearing that mask, doesn’t he? ‘ I quietly sat beside him and coughed slightly. He turned his head and smiled immediately behind his mask “ I thought you weren’t coming. “ . I playfully hit his arm “ You didn’t want me to come? You invited me, you know. “ . A muffled laugh came from his lips; Daehyun stood up and offered me his hand. I titled my head in confusion but took his hand anyway. His hand is warm as usual… I loved how it fitted perfectly with my hand.

We suddenly stopped walking and I noticed the big ferris wheel infront of us. “ When did the park got a ferris wheel? “ I asked curiously. He looked down at me “ It’s the last day it’s gonna be here. This is the reason why I asked you out today; you love ferris wheels, right? “ . My cheeks flushed red at what he mentioned. ‘ He still remembers… ‘

After spacing out for awhile, Daehyun made me snap out of my thoughts and dragged me to the line. The line decreased rather quickly than I expected. In no time, we got a chance to go in a one of the cabs. I looked out the windows and admired the view of the whole city. But at the side of my eye, I see Daehyun just staring at me blankly. The mask caught my gaze and decided that it’s the right time to ask him about it.

I took a breath “ Daehyun oppa, we’ve been together for over 5 years now and I’ve never had the courage to ask you this… But why do you always wear that mask…? “ . The atmosphere changed and silence filled the cab. ‘ I guess it was bad to ask… ‘ I bowed my head down but a pair of hands grabbed my cheeks. “ At first it was my obsession, I weared  it every single time, remember? “ . I nodded as he continued “ But as days, months and years pass, it became a useful and important thing to me. Do you wanna know the reason why? “ .

He stared at me with his soft and loving eyes “ Because every time I’m with you, I can’t help but blush and smile like an idiot all day long. This mask hides that cause I don’t want you to see me blushing and smiling every second… Your smile that is brighter than the sun up in the sky, your hair that flows beautifully behind your back as you walk, your eyes that shines like millions of stars at night and your laugh that always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling every single time. There may be lots more to say but… “ He took off his mask and proceeded

“ In conclusion, my obsession is now… you. “
