Chapter 1

In This Parallel Universe

"Okay, this is really awkward. But I think we should start with the naming first,"

"I told you I am called Jessica,"

"Well, change yours, I'm Jessica!"

"Why do I have to change my name? Why don't you change yours?"

"Well, maybe because this is MY house and MY planet!"

"STOP IT YOU TWO. CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST GET ALONG?! AND JESSICA, I EXPECT YOU TO BEHAVE YOURSELF!"

"WH-" Jessica scoffed, "Hello? She is the extra one here?"

"That's why you should treat her nicely!" Tiffany glared at the blonde before replacing her frown with a smile while turning her head to face the guest.

"Now, back to the names. Since none of you is willing to change your name for the other, then I guess we will have to change both your names,"

Jessica whipped her head to the side at the ridiculous request.

"AND NO NEGOTIATION." Tiffany glared at the disapproving look.

The older blonde scoffed again before lifting her hands to check on her fingernails, pretending to be uninterested in anything Tiffany has to say.

"So what would you like to be called as?"

"She should be called dangerous," Jessica tried muttering under her breath.

"JESSI!"

"I would like to be called as Jessi!"

"WHAT?! NO! THAT IS MY NAME!"

"Well, she did ask me first.."

"NO, YOU DID NOT JUST STEAL MY NICKNAME,"

"JESSICA! ONE MORE WORD AND I'LL SEND YOU UPSTAIRS!"

The said girl shut before placing her interest back to the bed of her nails.

"Okay, so this Jessica will be called Jessi and you will be called Jung!"

"JUNG?! WHY AM I CALLED JUNG WHILE SHE IS CALLED JESSI? WHY CAN'T SHE BE CALLED JUNG INSTEAD?!"

"Jessica," Tiffany sighed, " Stop being so angst-y in the morning. It's not good for your soul. Calm down and take a deep breath!"

"I don't need a deep breath. I need to get her out of this house!"

"Stop your nonsense this instance! You of all people should know the proper etiquette when treating a guest,"

"Fine. Be that way. I will be called by the horrible sounding, not to mention crude, way: Jung while she will be called the sweet way: Jessi. You happy?"

"That's the right attitude! See! I knew you still had your hospitable side in you! Come let's go get some breakfast! The egg smells great!"

-

"You should really learn to cook like her, Jessi. I mean Jung. "

Tiffany gave a sheepish smile and looked from her roommate then to the familiar stranger. She took another bite of the omelette and couldn't help but to praise its taste again.

"Seriously, this is really good,"

"I'm glad you like them! It's really simple to prepare it! I could teach you if you want,"

"REALLY? I would love to! "

"-up," Jessica rolled her eyes. It made Tiffany snap.

"Stop being rude to our guest!"

"She isn't a guest, she is an intruder!"

"No she isn't!"

"Yes she is!"

"I thought we had this conversation already,"

Jung kept shut before stabbing her fork into the egg. As much as she hated admitting, it was really nice. Maybe having this new kid in the house wasn't such a bad thing after all. She would probably exploit whatever she could while the stranger was still around (especially since Tiffany was taking such good care of her and obviously neglecting the real one). The thought made Jessica pissed. Really pissed.

Tiffany's voice brought her back to reality.

"So Jessi, how did you end up here?"

"Well, honestly, I don't know,"

"You didn't know that you were at a foreign place?"

"I didn't. Because this looks exactly like my house.. except for the fact that there are two people living her,"

"This reminds me! Tiffany isn't staying at your house?"

"Tiffany? Obviously not! She doesn't give a damn to anyone,"

Tiffany widened her eyes at the thought of a mean, cold and heartless Tiffany in the parallel universe. Jessi probably took notice of the sudden change in expression before correcting her previous statement.

"What I mean is that she practically ignores everyone who tries to talk to her. That's why I was kind of shocked when I saw you in my house. I mean, your house," Jessi mentally berated herself. But then again, why couldn't it be the case of them appearing in her house instead of her appearing in their house?

"She does? Oh my, is she... hated on?"

"Not really.. People just ignore her too. Sometimes we kind of forget about her existence until it comes to projects. I actually paired up with her once. I thought it would be a disaster, but surprisingly, she was good at it,"

"Really? Because this Tiffany Hwang at it,"

It was probably the first time Jung made a sarcastic joke that wasn't targeted at Jessi. The latter was initially taken aback at the sudden change in attitude but smiled as she finally caught onto what Jung was trying to do : Revenge is sweet.

"Then I guess I might have to call my Tiffany over sometime.."

Both Jessicas grinned at the sight of a fuming Tiffany.

"YAH YAH YAH, who got you that A grade the other time?"

"Exactly! Without you, I could have gotten an A+!"

Sooyeon was about to come out from the shower, ready to get dressed for school when she noticed a pair of shuffling feet behind the door. She brought her ears closer towards the wooden surface and heard sounds of familiar clicks - her wardrobe. Huffing, she rewrapped the towel around her body tightly before slamming the toilet door open.

"CAUGHT YOU. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?"

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

Jung widened her eyes as she saw her clone staring back at her, not to mention HER favourite outfit on her enemy's hands. Her twin was going to steal her dress!

"YOU YOU YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM AND WHY ARE YOU HOLDING ONTO MY DRESS? GIVE IT BACK!"

The childish blonde stepped forward and snatched the hanger from the other stunned blonde.

"JESSICA JUNG SOOYEON. YOU GIVE HER BACK HER CLOTHES!" Tiffany had rushed into the room, thinking that it was an emergency after hearing screams and shouts. It was Jessica's unlucky day when the brunette saw the whole act of her tearing the clothes off the hands of their guest.

"IT'S MINE!! IT SHOULD BE YOUR CLOTHES, NOT HER CLOTHES! AND IT ISN'T GIVE BACK! IT BELONGS TO ME!!"

"I asked her to come into your room to get some clothes to wear because she is obviously your size. Come on, you can't expect her to wear pyjamas to school don't you?"

"She should have at least asked for my permission!"

"Okay, we're sorry alright? Just lend her some clothes. Please?"

"Fine, but not this one! I'm wearing this today,"

It seemed like Jessi had the same taste as Jung. The blonde chef had actually picked out Jessica's second most favourite outfit in the closet, and it made Jessica a little pissed, okay it wasn't exactly a little. But for the sake of Tiffany and her scary anger fits, I have to control myself, I have to control my..

Jessica found herself chanting throughout the entire trip to school, especially after witnessing the sight of Jessi acting all chummy with Tiffany. She clenched her fist and gritted her teeth as she repeated the mantra even louder than before, forcing out the sounds of Tiffany's and her own idiotic voice.

This was the first time she hated how her voice sounded.

-

Everyone gasped.

Two Jessica-s?

There were two Jessica-s?

Tiffany swore she heard another scream before a loud thud onto the floor.

It wasn't like one Jessica wasn't bad enough, but now there are two.

But then again, Tiffany knew that this Jessica was nicer than the original one. A little tad better. And she couldn't help but to like her a little more. It was bad, but she couldn't help it, could she?

"I think they're afraid of me," Tiffany whipped her head to the right when she heard someone talking to her.

"I think they're just scared to live in a world where two Jessica-s exists,"

"Why? Is she really that bad?" Jessi timidly looked over to a nonchalant Jung over at the other side of Tiffany before quickly positioning herself back when she noticed the deadly glare that was directed straight at her.

Tiffany chuckled at the sight of a traumatized Jessica.

"You think?"

But really, Jung wasn't that bad. These people simply gave up too early.

-

"Ms Lee,"

"Yes Tiffany?"

"I-I-" She doesn't exactly know how to put it across. "Hey Ms Lee, Jessica has a clone from the parallel universe and she's here today. Nothing much for you to care about!" Okay, she completely doesn't know how to put it across.

"I-I-"

"Is there something you want to tell me?"

"Ms Lee, I know it sounds really, really weird, but you promise me you wouldn't freak out!"

"Of course I wouldn't. There's nothing that you've experienced that I've not before! "

"But this isn't exactly normal.."

"What? Don't tell me you have a clone or something," The teacher chuckled at her own joke.

Oh the irony.

But Tiffany was a little taken aback.

"What-what if I say that it's something close?"

Ms Lee ceased her laughter before furrowing her eyebrows.

"What do you mean something close?"

"You see, this morning when I woke up, I saw something. More like someone,"

"Your twin?"

"Not mine, Jessica's. "

"JESSICA'S? Well, where is she now? How can Jessica have a twin that she doesn't know about? Has she called her parents yet?"

"Ms Lee, she isn't her twin,"

"But you said twin,"

"Because I don't really know how to put it,"

"What do you mean?"

"She is not from this planet,"

"WHAT?! SHE IS AN ALIEN?!"

"No! I mean, I think she is from the parallel universe!"

"WHAT!? What nonsense is this? Tiffany Hwang, I'm going to give you detention for playing such a childish trick on me. This is not a funny April Fool's day joke. Stop this instance!"

"But Ms Lee! I'm serious! I can ask her to come out now!"

"Alright then. Let's see how far this joke can go. Ask her to come out now,"

Tiffany shifted her body to the side.

"You guys can come out now,"

She observed how Ms Lee's face morph from a smug to and expression of horror as she watched a timid Jessica giving a shy smile while the other simply shrugged and entered the classroom.

"Ms Lee? I tol- MS LEE! WAKE UP! OHH NO! JESSI, GO TO THE NURSE'S OFFICE NOW!"

Note: Jessi is the clone's name
Jung/ Sooyeon is Jessica's name (but yes, sometimes I use Jessica to describe Jessica as well: since she IS Jessica. But I'll describe the other to be opposite of Jessica just to make the differences obvious)
Jessica is mainly used to describe the form of Jessica.
The rest of the description should be generally quite clear? I guess.. ):
okay, too many Jessica-s - I'm dying
Maybe a simpler way to distinguish is: Clone = nice, Real Jessica = mean and angry
HAHAHA
