Prologue
Who's The Real Boss?
The sun cast a warm, golden hue over the bustling streets of Seoul as Lee Hana hurried through the crowd, her heart pounding with anticipation and nerves. Today was the day of her long-awaited job interview at The Park Company, one of the most esteemed companies in Korea. With each step she took, her excitement grew, but so did the weight of responsibility resting on her shoulders.
Dressed in her finest attire, Hana exuded confidence as she made her way through the throngs of people. Her black pantsuit, perfectly tailored to accentuate her figure, and her neatly tied hair portrayed professionalism and determination. She had meticulously prepared for this opportunity, tirelessly researching the company and rehearsing potential interview questions, envisioning the successful future that awaited her.
As Hana briskly walked along the vibrant streets, her mind buzzing with anticipation, she accidentally bumped into a man who seemed equally engrossed in his own thoughts. Without missing a beat, Hana quickly apologised. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to—"
But before she could finish her sentence, the man's eyes locked with hers, his expression filled with arrogance. "Watch where you're going," he snapped, his tone laced with annoyance.
Hana's brows furrowed in irritation. "Excuse me? You bumped into me just as much as I bumped into you!"
The man huffed, his gaze fixed on her with a hint of superiority. "I don't have time for this. Move along."
Their exchange escalated into a heated argument, both refusing to back down. It was a clash of wills, each determined to have the last word. Passersby stopped to watch the spectacle, their curiosity piqued by the intensity of their exchange.
Finally, Hana took a deep breath, realising she was on the verge of being late for her interview. "Fine," she said through gritted teeth, her voice strained with frustration. "I'm late because of you, but I won't waste any more time on someone as arrogant as you."
With that, Hana walked away, her steps quickening as she left the confrontation behind. She couldn't help but feel a mixture of anger and apprehension, fearing that her encounter with the rude stranger might have cost her the opportunity she had been dreaming of.
