Un-thinkable
Description
These were the images we saw everywhere.
From my house, you could see the smoke rising from downtown LA.
You could hear the police sirens blaring at all hours of the day.

You could feel the anxiety, the anger, the hopelessness radiating from those around you.
But yet with you, I felt safe. I didn't have to worry.
Foreword
Los Angeles, CA - June 1992
Kai rode his bike bravely towards her house. It wasn't safe, not at a time like this. Nevertheless, he rode on. Turning the corner, he saw people already outside. A bunch of guys playing rap music from their car while playing cards by the curb. They stared at him as he rode past them. He was past territorial lines. It's too late now. Dogs barked from their owners backyards, alerting them of an unknown visitor in their area.
Kai sighed, hopping off his bike and walked to her front door. He slowly raised his arm and knocked on the door, waiting for a response.
