Foreword
She sat on a chair and in her hands she held a piece of paper. A simple piece of paper which could change her life forever. She could hardly believe it. But here it really said she has been accepted. Sm, a famous korean firm for producing stars, accepted her. What could this mean? Would she become famous or would she one day disappear in the background? It was some kind of gamble. She knew fame didn't necessary only depend on talent but what one needs for fame is luck and charisma. She feared she couldn't reap the benefits of her work. How should she then organize her life? A gamble which would take 10 or more years of her youth.
She reread the paper to organize her thoughts. „ Tomorrow at 10 o´clock“, she read silently. Tomorrow at 10 o´clock her destiny would be decided. Either she stays here and finishes her study or she chooses the other way.
With open eyes she still thought about the paper. „ Sleep now!“, she thought. But it didn't matter how much she tried her thoughts couldn't be calmed down. Suddenly she said to herself:“ I will try it, why not? If I didn't do it, one day I would regret it and who gets such a chance?“. Now, she could sleep.
The next day, she stood in front of the bureau. In the room she sat in front of a woman who handed her the contract. She listened to her with full attention and sometimes nodded. When she heard that the contract lasted for 10 years, she had to gulp. „ So, really 10 years?, „ Do you want to sign? You have to know it's a one time chance. Not every one gets one. But you have to know behind every facade there is something. Nothing is perfect and like a fairy tale.“ She looked at the woman, fully concentrated. Did she thought, she was one of the naive little girls who didn't know that there lied danger behind the world of glitz? Oh,no she was perhaps young but not naive. She possesed experiences one wouldn't want. Her dance education hardened her. She knew what pressure, competition and intrigues meant. She, herself, tried to distant herself from hurting anyone because she knew how one feels as a victim. „ I know what I'm doing“, she said dryly and signed it what some people would call slave contract.
„ Mama... I've signed something“, while she spoke this words her heart beat very fast. She lived since a long time apart from her parents but the distance tightended their relationship in a strange way. „ You don't have to tell me such things. Do what you want. But if you tell it to me then what's that for a contract?“, „ I signed in in a korean talent agency.“ Silence. An akward silence came. „ O.k... I'm sure you know what you made. You know that I will always support you.“ „Thank you, mama.“ Both didn't speak anymore and hanged up. Later she was in her bed, still thinking but slowly she fell in a deep sleep since a long time.
