“I told you I’d take you to a good place and you requested to come here instead?” Kai asked as he put his jacket around the girl. The two ended up on a pocha street close to the party.

“Me, Mark and Haechan used to sneak out of the parties all the time and spend the rest of our night having fun here instead. Eunji asked as she guided Kai in one of the stalls

“Agassi, welcome back” The lady greeted them “Will it be your usual?” She asked

“Eomoni! Yes, please!”

“I’m really surprised. You make me more curious about you” Kai looked straight at Eunji with his yellow eyes

“I’m not really the typical chaebol daughter” Eunji nodded at him briefly before looking away. The girl sighed as she remembered Jaehyun’s yellow eyes. Is he reunited with his mate now? How does his mate look like? How come no one told her about Jaehyun finding his mate? Her thoughts were stopped when the owner of the pocha brought their food and drinks

“Spicy deokbokki with loads of cheese, 10 sticks of fishcake and 3 soju” The owner said “Ah you came with a different man”

“Aigooo eomoni! How can you remember?” She laughed

“It’s not every day that a beautiful agassi comes over here” She smiled “You kids enjoy”

“Why did you want to leave the party early? I thought you’d want to stay out late” Kai finally asked

“Because I am not brave enough to meet Jaehyun oppa’s mate” She wanted to say, but instead she looked at the man in front of her and just smiled

“Are you tired?”  He asked

“I just wanted to go out and get some fresh air. Parties really are not for me I guess” She laughed

Lie. Kai knew you were lying. His instinct is telling him you were troubled, and he knows why. Frustrated, he chugged on the bottle soju

“Oh careful there” She warned

“Can you tell me about him? The man you are in love with?” Kai looked at his mate with sadness. He hates the fact that she has another man in her heart, but he wants to know about the man who’s hurting his beloved mate.

“You know this place -”

“Please Eunji. I want to hear about my competition. I want to know how he was able to steal your heart” Kai sadly smiled at her “I know it’s Jaehyun. I know that you wanted to leave the party because of him”

“I don’t think I should talk to you about it” Eunji looked at way as she took a bite of the fishcake

“I want to know because I never knew what love is until  I fell in love with you at first sight. They said werewolves have our instincts to find our mates but weirdly I never felt attracted to anyone until I saw you. Then now that I see you looking at another man. To see you in pain because of him, my heart aches a lot. That must be because you’re my mate right?” Kai held on his chest before drinking more soju “So please tell me how you know what love is through him”

“I’m sorry”

“No no love, please don’t say sorry. I just really want to hear your past, your story. Don’t feel bad for me because the fact that you’re here with me already is good enough”

Eunji gave Kai a worried look “It’s really ok” the latter said

“The thing is, I don’t know how it all started” Eunji said as she started to recall the past

Year 2016

“Can you not just go home and study? Why do you have to go to the library?” Taeyong asked his little sister

“Oppa, you guys can just go and continue with your basketball practice. I can just go on my own” Eunji rolled her eyes

“You don’t see how many guys are waiting to shake us off your backs so they can try to steal you from us” Johnny pouted

“You guys are exaggerating. It’s just the library” she shook her head

“Jaehyun would follow her” Taeil said

“But isn’t Jaehyun hyung finishing a project with his classmates?” Jungwoo said

“Then yes, just study in the basketball court” Yuta blurted

“STOP!” You guys are annoying me again!” Eunji gave them a look “If you don’t let me go to the library, I swear I will never talk to you guys again” 

“You know she’s stubborn. Just let her go. I don’t want to go through that annoying phase of her” Mark passed the ball to Haechan

“Mark, you’re just mean” Haechan said

“She won’t listen to you guys anyway. Just let her go to the library” Mark rolled his eyes

Eunji walked out the basketball court and made her way to the library. Surely enough, guys bluntly stared at her as she walked past them. It’s true, they have been longing for the moment where none of her friends are around her. Some were already thinking about approaching her. One guy bravely stopped her.

“Can I help you, Rowoon sunbae?” Eunji asked. Right in front of her is the popular soccer captain

“I was just wondering if I can invite you to watch our practice” Rowoon said “I mean we rarely see you alone. Not that we don’t like your friends around you, but you know” He shyly scratched the back of his head

“Oh I’m sorry, I’m actually on my way to the library to work on my homework” Eunji apologized

“I’m going to catch the chase and just say it. I…I like you” He looked at her

“Oh…I…”

“Eunji-ah! Told you to wait for me” Jaehyun called “Sunbae, I’m sorry. She is not interested to go out with you”

“You can’t really speak on her behalf,  Jaehyun-ah”

“Honestly she’s very stubborn” Jaehyun started

“Hey oppa!” Eunji whined

“Just like how she stubbornly decided to work on her homework in the library”

“What are you saying?” Rowoon asked

“What I mean is, if she likes you, she would have forced to watch soccer practice a long time ago. So yes, I’m positive that she doesn’t like you”

“You know what, I should just go” Rowoon walked off

“You’re so mean Jaehyun oppa”

“Well you are too. How can you leave our pack? Do you see the hungry eyes following you around?” Jaehyun looked around and surely enough, a lot of guys were staring at you

“I thought you’re working on your project?”

“Well I guess not anymore. I have to make sure our pack will not commit a crime of murdering anyone who dares to talk to you” Jaehyun winked before grabbing her bag from her

Eunji looked at Jaehyun and smiled. Somehow, Jaehyun has always been there for her, making sure she never felt alone. She looked at his deep dimples as he smiled at her. With her heart beating fast, she started running away from him. She surely hopes that he does not hear her heart skipping for him.
