Kai had to use all his non-existent power to control his emotions. Her scent envelops the whole car so much that he tried to hum classical music in his head to concentrate on his driving. 

“Suho hyung is excited that you’re going to live with us. I had to stop him yesterday from buying the most unnecessary things to put in your bedroom” Kai said as he tried to engage in conversation

“It’s been a while. I did miss him too” Eunji said 

“You’re awkward with me huh?” He finally asked

“I just. Well honestly, apart from my friends, I don’t really hangout with others. It’s complicated” She answered

“But I’m not one of the others. I’m your mate” Kai smiled as he briefly stared at her. He once again had to use all the power he has to stare away from her adorable, surprised face “Have you dated before?”

“NO!” Eunji answered quickly

“Not even any of your friends?” Kai asked the question he’s been wanting to ask

“No. I mean you know how strict Mark could get” She awkwardly laughed

“Right. He is stricter than Suho hyung” 

“Can I be honest with you though?” Eunji started “I didn’t expect this to happen. I never expected to find my mate before I even shift, but I want to be honest with you because I think you deserve to know it. I’m actually in love with someone” She confessed as she struggled to keep herself steady in her seat as Kai suddenly hit the brake

“Sorry…I…” Kai looked at his mate. His eyes changed color, showing the change in his emotions. He stared at her for a long time, as if not understanding the words she just said. His mate that he’s waited for all his life, is in love with someone else?

“Hyung, can we pass by a convenience store? I’m thirsty” Haechan said.

“Remind me, why did you two tag along again?” Jaehyun shook his head at the two young wolves

“Because we need to get my sister back. We need to know why she has two mates” Mark answered as he kept checking on his phone

“If you’re going to keep waiting for her to call, then why don’t you call her first?” Jaehyun asked as he slowly turned to the side of the road to stop by a convenience store

“If you really love her, why did you let her go to another wolf?” Mark seriously looked at Jaehyun “Sorry, hyung. I just…it’s always me and her hyung. We were always a team and to all of a sudden see her go to our older brother’s pack, it’s making me anxious” Mark bit his lips

“You’re right. I should’ve stopped her” Jaehyun frowned “Go. I’ll stay in the car” 

“Sorry hyung” Mark said once again before completing closing the door

“No need to apologize, Mark. Just go get me a drink too” 

“I got you, hyung!” Haechan cheerfully said as he got out the car

Jaehyun closed his eyes as he struggled to control his feelings. He knows exactly where his mate is at the moment and it would be a lie to say he’s not bothered by it. He has not even resolved who among his pack members is the one that Eunji likes, and yet now she’s out there with another wolf claiming to be her mate. If he allows himself to express his heart at the moment, he’d be howling in pain. He misses her so bad. The wolf took out his phone and looked at her contact information. He can at least ask how she is right? He was about to hit her phone number when he received a call. It was his mate.As if on instinct, he picked it up right away. With pounding heart, he greeted her.

“Jaehyun oppa?” There it is, her angelic voice that makes his heart go crazy

“Oh, Eunji-ah. How are you?” He tried to sound as normal as possible

“I saw the group chat. You, Mark and Haechan are going to see the elders?” She asked

“Yeah, my grandmother said she misses me. I don’t know why those two tagged along” He answered

“How’s Mark?” 

“You know he can’t get mad at you for too long”

“I hope so. I can’t stand it when he’s mad” 

“Don’t worry. I’ll talk to him and ask him to call you”

“Thank you oppa. Always. How are you though? I heard you were really drunk?”

“I…got over it” He lied

“You’re…not angry with me too are you? Jungwoo oppa didn’t pick up my call”

“I can never get angry at you” Jaehyun said

“Thank you…I…” 

“Eunji-ah. Time to eat” A manly voice said

“I have to go…” 

“Eunji-ah” Jaeyun wanted so bad to ask her not to go to the man who just called her

“Yes oppa?” 

“I…you’re coming to Jennie noona’s party tomorrow  right? The one she’s doing in your mall?”

“Of course. She’d hunt me if I don’t go” 

“I’ll see you there” Jaehyun said before hanging up

“One of your friends?” Kai asked as he watched Eunji walk to the door

“Yes. I was asking about Mark…”

“How is he?”

“I won’t message him till he sends me a message”

“I can’t help but overhear your last conversation though?” He asked as he guided her to the kitchen

“About that. Yes, I have a party to attend to tomorrow”

“A party?” Suho asked

“Yes oppa! I have to be there since it’s our company after all”  

“Their company. Not ours” Suho shrugged

“I’m also going to support my friend”

“You know the one who’s threatening you is still on the loose right? You can go, but take Kai with you”

“Oppa…”

“Well I’m sure Jisoo will be there so it won’t be a pleasant sight for me to tag along. Kai will flip if I send the other guys” Suho looked at Baekhyun and Chanyeol who looked disappointed “And I don’t really trust you to go without any of us so just please let me protect you?” Suho looked at his sister

“Fine, but I can stay as long as I want right?”

“No more curfew, I promise” Suho smiled.
