“I’ll see you later, Jaehyun oppa” She looked at Jaehyun and saw his eyes. Shock was an understatement on how she felt when she finally had a look of his eyes. They were clearly yellow. A sign that is known for wolves when it involves their mate.

“Let’s go” Kai held his mate’s hand. He’s not a fool. He saw the way Jaehyun looked at his mate and knew right away he has a competition. Is it really possible for wolves to have the same mate? 

“Your eyes” Eunji swallowed the lump that formed in . Jaehyun looked away. He never thought a time would ever come that he would ever lose control in front of his mate. The scent of another wolf all over the scent of his mate is enough to make him go insane. He closed his eyes and looked away. This is not how he imagined he’d confess his feelings for Eunji.

“Let’s go, love” Kai called Eunji’s face as he caressed her cheek.

Eunji gave Jaehyun one more look before turning her attention to Kai. Jaehyun stared at his mate. His mate who is now in the arms of another man. He watched as Eunji and Kai greeted Jennie and Johnny. His eyes are not hiding anymore. In fact, the only thing missing are the tears he so badly wants to shed. 

“Jaehyun-ah” Taeyong called “Your eyes…”

“I need some air, hyung. I’ll be back” Jaehyun sadly looked at his friend before walking out

“What happened to Jaehyun?” Taeil approached Taeyong. The latter just shook his head. It pained the leader of the pack to see Jaehyun’s heart shattering to pieces.

“Congratulations unnie” Eunji greeted the host of the party

“I’m glad you came” Jennie smiled as she hugged Eunji

“Unnie, you threatened me that you will not speak with me ever again if I miss this party” Eunji laughed as she let go of the hug

“You know she loves you and she won’t ever do that to you” Johnny spoke

“Oppa!” Eunji smiled and looked at Johnny. She is not sure if Johnny is still angry at her

“Won’t you give oppa a hug?” Johnny smiled at her as he opened his arms to his younger cousin

“I thought…” Eunji mumbled as she hugged her cousin

“That I’m angry at you? I can never get mad at you baby girl. You are our sole baby girl after all” Johnny hugged her tight one more time before letting go

“Thank you oppa” She smiled at him

“And he is…” Johnny looked at Kai

“Oppa, this is Kim Jongin”

“Hi, Kim Jongin. Eunji’s mate” Kai smiled as he offered his hand to Johnny

“I’m trusting my cousin to you so you better not make her cry” Johnny smiled as he accepted the handshake

“I’ll give up my life for her” Kai confidently said

“Excuse me, Vice President Kim Jongin?” Someone approached them

“Yes?” Kai let go of Johnny’s hand and greeted the middle-aged man who called his name

“My name is Director Kim Hanbin from CJ Group. I would like to talk to you about business if I may?” He asked

“I am…” Kai looked at Eunji

“It’s ok. I’ll be ok” She smiled at Kai

“This is my personal time so I’d appreciate if it’s only a quick conversation” Kai said

“Then if I can invite you to our table briefly?” The director of CJ group asked as he lead Kai to their table

“How are things unnie? I love what Johnny oppa had done with this event” Eunji smiled

“The collaboration is a success and yes, your Johnny oppa did a good job” Jennie smiled as she looked at Johnny whose eyes are now in the shade of yellow as he stare deeply in to his mate’s eyes

“I love you” Johnny whispered

“I think I love you more” Jennie smiled at him

“Ok you two love birds have fun. I’ll go around” Eunji was going to leave but Johnny caught her wrist

“Hey baby girl? You will not distant yourself from us right?” Johnny asked

“Hm?”

“What your oppa is saying, you’re still going to hangout with us right? The pack is missing you. It’s only been few days but we miss you a lot” Jennie brushed the girls hair

“Can I still hangout with you guys?” Eunji asked

“Hey! Of course! You are our little sister Eunji. You are welcome in our family anytime!” Johnny said

“Thank you” Eunji looked at the couple and smiled. She was afraid that her friends would hate her, but now she feels at ease. Spending time with her other side of the family made her feel like she can’t go back to her old life ever, but perhaps it’s all in her head. Hearing Johnny and Jennie talk to her like this, makes her feel like nothing really has changed. Except now, it looks like the pack has welcomed another member, Jaehyun’s mate.

It’s getting harder and harder for the Samsung heir to ignore his mate’s scent. He’s already in the venue’s garden, but he can still smell her scent despite the huge crowd. He’s made  a mistake. He knows that. How will he explain to her that his eyes turned yellow for her? That his heart yearns for her so much that his instinct can no longer hide it. He knew that until now his eyes are yellow. His emotions are all over the place. How can it not be? Here is his mate, all beautiful and loving, yet she is in the arms of another man. 

“I didn’t expect you’d be here” That voice he longed for said. Jaehyun closed his eyes briefly as if that would help him control his emotions

“What are you doing here?” Jaehyun turned to her

Eunji stared at Jaehyun’s yellow eyes. A sad smile formed as she asked Jaehyun the question she badly wanted to ask him earlier

“So you really found your mate, oppa?” 

“I did” Jaehyun answered

“Is she beautiful? Is she good to you?” She asked

“You are beautiful and you are very good to me” Jaehyun wants to say

“Come on oppa! Why are you not answering me! You promised me you’ll tell me when you meet her and yet, I had to see your eyes for me to know” Eunji joked

“She’s very beautiful. No one can compare to her” He smiled at Eunji

“Of course she is. She’s your mate after all” She sadly smiled “I guess I can’t bug you anymore huh? I will miss bugging you, oppa. I should go now. Jongin oppa must be looking for me” Eunji was about to turn, but Jaehyun held on her wrist

“Eunji…”

“I know, I’m the sister you never had, so I can still continue to bug you. See you at the meeting tomorrow oppa” Eunji smiled at him

“I mean…”

“Eunji-ah!” Kai called 

“I should go. I’ll see you tomorrow oppa” Eunji said as she gently patted Jaehyun’s hand that’s holding her. Jaehyun reluctantly let go of her and watched as his mate approached his rival. This will be a painful night for the young wolf

“Want to eat something?” Kai asked as Eunji came by his side. He stole a glance at Jaehyun whose eyes are still yellow. It’s no doubt that the other man is somewhat also competing for his mate’s heart

“I actually would like to go home, if that’s ok?” Eunji looked at Kai

“Of course” Kai smiled as he looked at his mate. He saw the expression on Eunji’s face and knew right then something was not right. 

“You will still need to eat something. I know the place. Come…” Kai offered his hand to her

“Ok” She looked at Kai before grabbing his offered hand. “I’ll just say goodbye to my brothers and friends” She weakly smiled

Jaehyun stared as his mate disappeared from his sight. He sadly held on his chest as sadness fills his heart. Tears are slowly forming as he looked at the sky

“Jaehyun-ah, Eunji just said bye to us” Taeyong said

“She left” Jaehyun said

“I hate seeing you hurt like this”

“I’m lost hyung. I don’t know what to do” Jaehyun finally let his tears out

“Tell her how you feel Jaehyun. Let her decide. You can’t just let her be in the dark”

“What if I’m not her mate? What if she shifts and she realizes that I’m not the one for her?”

“That what if will not spare you of any pain. You are already in pain right now”

“Hyung. If I confess to her now and if it ends up I’m not her mate, she will just be sad. She will feel pity over me and I don’t want to get her through that painful guilt”

“My sister, she’s stronger than that so at least let her make her own decision and don’t keep her in the dark longer” Taeyong said
