Three consecutive knocks were all it took for the heads of the officers to look at the closed door of their office. A second of silence followed by the sound of a turning doorknob made them wonder who and what task will be brought upon them once the door opens wide. 

Sighs of relief were released by all of the officers when a raven haired girl head’s popped out wearing that familiar smile that the whole university knows. 

Once the officers were sure that no new task was gonna add up to their already pile of papers, each of them gave the visitor a smile or a nod and went back to their respective stack of papers knowing well enough who the visitor wanted to see.

Aeri greeted Jimin with a confused, “hey” as the latter comfortably sits down at the chair in front of the president’s desk. “Let’s have coffee later.” Jimin says prettily while looking at the dazed president.

“I thought you got into trouble again jeez.” Aeri snorts at the captain sitting across her. “Hey what do you take me for? A friend who only knows you when I’m in need?” Jimin answers with both of her hands over her heart while trying to act like she is seriously in deep pain.

“Cut to the chase, Jimin. I’m trying to finish some papers here.” The president replies while typing away on her computer. She stops for a second and takes a good look at Jimin and asks, “Don’t you have practice today?” A wider grin grazes the captain’s face as she now face the vice-president whose table is just beside Aeri. “Why don’t you ask Miss Kim. She’s the one looking over the swimming team.”

Minjeong automatically lifts her head from the book she is reading once she heard her name. She meets Jimin’s eyes who is smiling radiantly at her as she close her book and then looks over Aeri, “It’s their rest day if I’m not mistaken.” Minjeong answered not needing for Jimin to repeat her words.

Aeri smiles and nods at Minjeong as a way of saying a silent thank you before she looks at the waiting captain who is unbelievably all smiles this morning.

It is not that Jimin rarely smiles, in fact Jimin might be one of the most approachable student in the university. Her face just screams kindness and giddiness. But there is just something different about her this morning. Is it her smile? Is it her new well cut nails? Maybe she woke up on the best side of her bed this morning or maybe it is because of the free time that she has today? Yeah that must be it. But no matter the reason, Aeri is glad that Jimin is in a very good mood today. She has been since the start of the week actually. And she’s been driving again lately which made Aeri smile instantly. How can she ever say no to Jimin when she is being too adorable?

”You know you could have just texted me right? Or you could have called either.”Aeri says, her full attention is now on the girl in front of her who is currently playing with the paperclips on her table. 

Jimin meets her gaze and shrugs nonchalantly, “I forgot that you know how to use a phone.” Jimin says as she throw a series of side glances on Minjeong’s way. An even brighter smile made its way on her face when she noticed how Minjeong stopped midway on flipping the pages of her book once she heard Jimin’s words.

“Even my grandmother knows how to use a phone, Jimin.” Aeri rolls her eyes as the captain’s silly excuse.

“So, see you at the shop later at four?” Jimin suggests while wriggling her eyebrows.

“Will that shut you up?”

“Maybe.” Jimin says playfully.

“Okay.” Aeri finally agrees but before another silly smile forms on her lips, Aeri continued with, “Your treat.” Jimin answers almost immediately, “Why? What for?”

“For taking my time today.” Aeri answers before typing on her computer again leaving a very amused Jimin in sight. “You win this time, Aeri.” Jimin says as she finally stands up making a screeching sound with her chair.

The other officers clearly heard the sudden noise but made no move to turn their heads away from their individual computers too busy to finish their own tasks, too busy to listen in on the only conversation inside the room. But as always, there is an exception. Just beside the president’s table is Minjeong’s. And on the other side? The secretary’s. Ningning.
