Taemin was searching through the website. He needed to finish his thesis, it was keeping him busy for months. His steps were only from his apartment to the shop for food and something to drink and again back into his apartment. It was also the time when he didn’t feel lonely like he always did. Was it horrible that he even forgot about the special day? Taemin just didn’t even notice it is Christmas day, his room was kind of a big mess like a bomb just exploded there. Oh, and where he made money? He was doing some works from his home like translating news and books. He made sure that his boss will always get it in time. Taemin always controlled it twice before sending it and looked for a new one thing to work on it.

But what made him startled… suddenly he heard a doorbell and knocking on the door! He blinked a few times and went to the door when he firstly looked at the small spyhole and confusedly looked at the man who was standing there. A blond man in a black suit with something in his hands. Still with the door chain on he opened it a bit and looked out.

“Uhm… good afternoon, how can I help you?” he asked shyly and was ready to just slam the door in the face of an intruder.

“Good afternoon, Lee Taemin? I am Kim Jonghyun, the owner of the translating company Pearl, you are working for us,” the man with a warm smile looked at Taemin who widened his eyes and put down the chain when he bowed. “Y-yes, I am… I work… um… I sent my work today… really! Or were there mistakes? I can make it better, I promise, maybe I was just a bit taken by my thesis…” Taemin started with apologies but the man chuckled and put his hand on Minnie’s shoulder when the boy blinked and stopped stammering other words.

“Hey, hey… I didn’t come here because of your work… or maybe yes, but not because there were mistakes, may I come in? I think that we are maybe disturbing your neighbors and I don’t want to make some problems for you,” Jonghyun smiled and Taemin swallowed almost facepalming himself.

“Oh, yes, s-sure, come in… so what is wrong? And…” His face turned red, he forgot to clean dishes, wash them, he even forgot to do laundry and took out the garbage. “I am sorry about my apartment, I didn’t expect you, really no, I… haven’t had a visit for months.”

“I can see now why you are working even on this day,” Jonghyun nodded and took his shoes off as he stepped in and closed the door behind him not letting the box off his hands.

“On this day? Is it something like company holidays?” Taemin blinked confusedly.

“Not only company, it is worldwide,” Jonghyun chuckled and Taemin walked into his living room making enough place for Jonghyun, he still tried to figure out what the day it was… and for goodness sake… he couldn’t find it out! And funnier it couldn’t be more, he had his phone already without battery, no time for charging it, he even didn’t have a calendar.

Jonghyun looked around the place where he was. On the table was a laptop, around it were mugs of coffee, empty and one full. Also, the couch looked more like a bed. Taemin tried to clean everything when Jonghyun stopped him.

“Taemin, stop for a while please,” Hyun smiled and Taemin blinked looking at Jonghyun in surprise and confusion.

“Today… it’s Christmas day, I know, some people don’t celebrate it, but in our company, we also made for this week a holiday, my secretary had to send emails, we send emails always,” Jonghyun looked at Taemin’s eyes when the younger boy widened his eyes.

“I… I am sure that I checked my email… um… I remember now! I… I am sorry when I saw that it isn’t a message about new work for me, I just didn’t open it,” Taemin blushed and looked down.

“Taemin, you don’t look fine, how long have you been stuck in here? How did you eat?” Jonghyun asked worriedly.

“I eat a lot! I really do! I just… I really don’t leave my apartment, only when I go for food,” Taemin blinked and shyly looked at Jonghyun.

“Well, I thought that I will offer you a day in a restaurant, but now I have the feeling… pack your things and come on, I will take you to my house… don’t forget to call your parents and friends and greet them,” Hyun smiled.

“I… don’t have family and friends,” Tae bit his lip and looked down again.

Jonghyun almost facepalmed himself. It was so obvious and he didn’t notice it. “I am sorry… but what about you going with me? To my house, I am alone there, just with my dog and everything is ready there for Christmas! I won’t let you be alone on this day,” Jonghyun smiled widely.

“Boss… you don’t even know me… we even don’t know each other well, I don’t want to disturb you and… I have to work on my thesis, really,” Taemin bit his lip more.

“We can make a deal, I will take you to my house, you will make a pause from your thesis for like ten hours, and tomorrow I will help you with it, maybe I will have some literature for you,” Jonghyun winked and looked around himself again.

“And I will send here my caretaker, she wouldn’t steal anything, you don’t have to worry, but I think you need help with this, really. She is free a day after tomorrow, so for a week you can be with me,” Jonghyun smiled and looked back at Taemin who was starring at him, and in his head were flying thoughts, should he believe his boss? Is it even his boss?

Jonghyun smiled softly and took from his pocket his wallet and showed to Taemin his ID card. It almost knocked Taemin off. Was he reading his thoughts?! “Look, here you can see that I am really who I am… you don’t have to worry, okay? I really think that this place needs something fresh and also to be cleaned,” he patted Tae’s shoulder who a bit nodded and blushed. “Then don’t wait, I think that dinner will be almost ready,” Jonghyun laughed and Taemin wanted to say something but he just bowed and in deep thoughts, he packed a bit of what he thought that he would need.

Jonghyun with his box went to the front door and took his shoes on again. Soon Taemin with a bag came and took on his shoes too and coat. Hyun smiled and walked out being followed by Taemin who locked the apartment and they walked quietly to an elevator.

“And boss…”

“I am Jonghyun, your hyung, call me like that,” Hyun smiled at Taemin who blushed and looked at the side.

“O-okay thank you… hyung… umm… how did you find my address?” Taemin asked shyly and they walked out from the elevator heading to a beautiful white Lamborghini car. “Oh my… is it…” Taemin widened his eyes and Jonghyun chuckled opening the trunk and put inside the box.

“Yes, it is mine, put in your bag,” he chuckled and opened the front door for Taemin and closed the trunk when everything was in, then he also got in his car when Taemin was looking around the whole car while he closed the door and put on his seatbelt.

Jonghyun put on his seatbelt as well, played on his radio something, and drove off. “You asked me how have I found your address. It was easy, you wrote it when you were applying for your job. There was also your photo,” Hyun smiled. “And when I found out that you are living close to me, I decided to make a visit and invite you to dinner, though in my house is also being the dinner prepared.”

“Wouldn’t it be a shame if the dinner in your house would be not touched tonight?” Taemin blinked and Jonghyun chuckled.

“I always send something on Christmas night to people who need it, I walk out every midnight and give to people without proper house something I can give them… there is a lot of them, unfortunately, I can’t help them more… you can go with me, if you want,” Jonghyun smiled looking at Taemin.

“Oh, it sounds amazing! I would love to if I can,” Taemin smiled shyly and looked out from the window.

Jonghyun smiled and soon he stopped by amazingly looking big house. Taemin widened his eyes and got out when Hyun opened the door for him. He already had Taemin’s bag and the box too.

“It is so beautiful,” Taemin starred at the house which was decorated for Christmas, snow was around them what made Taemin surprised a bit.

“Thank you, let’s go in,” Hyun chuckled, took Taemin around his shoulders, and went to the door when he opened it with his card and stepped in.

“Ah, Jongie? You are home?”

“Woof!”

“Oh my, it is so beautiful puppy, hi,” Taemin smiled widely and knelt when he hugged the puppy, it barked playfully at Taemin and played with his fingers.

“It’s Roo,” Jonghyun smiled and looked at the corridor as he took off his coat and shoes.

“Yes, we are home, please, set the table for one person more,” Jonghyun called after the voice.

Taemin stood up and took his shoes and coat off. Jonghyun smiled and walked with the box and Tae’s bag to the living room where the big beautiful decorated tree was and the radio was on. Christmas carols were being played over the whole house. Jonghyun placed the box under the tree and the bag on the couch.

“Oh, hello there,” inside the room came a brown-haired man and bowed.

“H-hello,” Taemin smiled and bowed as well.

“Wookie, it’s Taemin, Minnie, it is Ryewook, he is my cook and also a helper in this house,” Jonghyun smiled and both boys shook their hands. “Wookie, had Heejin done what I asked her?” Hyun smiled and Ryeowook nodded. “Yes, the guest room is ready, dinner as well,” Wookie smiled.

“Great, thank you… Minnie? I will show you your room and you can put there your things, then we can have dinner together and take a look under the tree,” Jonghyun smiled and Taemin blinked.

“Um, okay, but I don’t have any gift,” Taemin looked down and sighed.

“Christmas is not just about giving gifts but also about being together and with someone and it is beautiful!” Ryeowook smiled widely and Hyun nodded. “Wookie is right, I am glad I can make beautiful Christmas for you,” Hyun smiled and Taemin blushed.

Jjong took Taemin into the guest room and then showed him the whole house when they ended by the table in the dining room. They sat down there on the chairs and said thankful speech. There were four plates but just three people eating. It should have been for an unexpected guest.

When they finished eating, Taemin thanked for dinner and they went into the living room where they sat on the couch and Taemin looked at Ryeowook. “May… May I ask you why aren’t you with your family? S-sorry for asking if it is personal,” Taemin blinked while Roo was happily waggling her tail running around the couch following the ball.

“Ah, it’s okay, you can ask. My parents live in America, they didn’t catch a plane and I also not… so I just stayed here,” Ryeowook smiled and Jonghyun gave a box which he had already in Taemin’s house to Taemin.

Taemin blinked in surprise, looked at Jonghyun who gave him an encouraging smile and nodded. Taemin shyly bit his lip and opened slowly the box. It was a new book collection from one writer whom Taemin adored!

“Oh… how… how could you know this, hyung?” Taemin widened his eyes looking at Jonghyun who chuckled.

“Let’s say that I found your Instagram and get to know your interest, this writer’s company is one of our partners so I decided to get you this collection. You are our the most working translator,” Jonghyun smiled and Taemin bit his lip but couldn’t hold it any longer and he hugged Jonghyun tightly.

“Thank you so much,” he whispered and Ryeowook smiled widely and happily. “I am… sorry, I wish I could give you something too,” Minnie whispered when Jjong shook his head.

“No… I am so happy that you came here… And it is enough for me, I may get a little crush when I saw your photos,” Jonghyun bit his lip and looked at the other side while Ryeowook squeaked. “Oh my god! It was so adorable and ing cute!” he clapped his hands and giggled behind his hand when both boys looked at him.

“Ryeowook,” Jonghyun looked at him a bit frowning and pouted but then he sighed and ruffled Taemin’s hair.

“We should go… people are waiting for us,” Hyun smiled and Taemin nodded blushing. “Thank you… I… um…” Taemin didn’t know what he should say. Did Jonghyun just confess to him? Ah, he never felt what he was feeling just now.

As soon as they finished unwrapping gifts, they walked out from the house with a few jars where also chopsticks were. It was food, Wookie was holding some bottles with water and tea. Jonghyun gave Taemin old clothes in bags and smiled.

“So that’s all… let’s go,” he winked and the three boys went to the park where people were around a campfire.

Jonghyun smiled warmly and with both boys started giving food, drink and clothes to poor people. They cried and thanked them a lot. It took only twenty minutes when they gave everything to people who needed it and also got a lot of thankful words. Ryeowook was the first one who walked back home and then Taemin with Jonghyun when Hyun took Taemin into the café where he bought coffee for both of them and sat down.

“How do you feel?” Hyun smiled watching Taemin who was blushing since they entered the café.

“I… I…” Taemin bit his lip. “I… am happy… it is just… after so long time I feel fine… thank you for today, Jonghyun, I don’t think I can tell how much I adore you and how much I am glad that you came through the all way to my apartment and wanted to make my Christmas be not forgotten,” he smiled being redder than tomato.

Jonghyun was happy, he pulled softly Taemin in his lap and connected their lips. He even couldn’t describe his feeling, but still… he was the happiest person.
